What is found in the smeltwaters [GR Dominion for Taboon]

[media]https://youtu.be/bRODU-5EDGU[/media]
With the fall of the rise of the Galactic Empire under the sinister Emperor Palpatine the grand army of the republic fell under his command. Order 66 one of their most infamous deeds throughout history.

But all did not follow order 66. Some troopers escaped the clutches it had caused. Some remained to fight the Tyrrant against all odds at that time. Others decided that now was not the time.

Setting up a deal with an infamous Hutt crime lord one clone commander had his battalion of clone troopers frozen in carbonite. A battle hardened and disciplined unit who he deemed would be needed at another time, when the republic was in need of them.
The hutt, Bogga the hutt, ruled his criminal empire from the moon of Vo Dasha inside the Taboon gas giant. He escaped Imperial eyes as well as avoided future entanglement with the rise of the rebel alliance. While the Empire in theory owned the clones Bogga had no intentions of waking the sleeping clones and kept them frozen for his own needs.
Time passed as the hutt tried to figure out how to somehow control the clones. He constantly failed, and over time he gave up the venture and eventually the clone army, kept in one massive droid controlled facility was left alone.

Frozen for an eternity the Battalion seemed to be doomed to eternal waiting...
hqdefault.jpg

.... until now.

A Republic signal was recently picked up by a passing ship. The codes were ancient but still clearly valid. Because while the clone commander had put great trust in Bogga the hutt he had also suspected foul play by him. A secret signal, using Republic code, made sure to be broadcast from the cryo freeze once every tenth year. the frequency was low to save energy and it had taken a long time before anyone picked it up.

The Republic acted with haste. Not only were the veteran troopers a much needed reinforcement but the soldiers of the Republic Army considered these frozen troopers brothers in arms. For that, they moved in with great speed determined to set the fellow troopers free from their centuries old hibernation.

But it was indeed during a time of great need that the republic found the battalion. the question now - will they manage to wake the entire unit before the automated defenses hinder them?

Choose an objective or mix em up as you see fit :)

Objective A
Wakey wakey!
Move inside the cryo facility and fight the internal droid security forces. Unfreeze clones as you go until the entire facility is under republic control.
Pew pew objective.

Objective B
Bad hutt!
Senators! Go to Bogga the hutts palace and tell him that he is no longer allowed to rule this system freely. He has not only conducted illegal activity across the system but also kept a battalion of republic troopers from the Republic. these are devious crimes even for the millenia old hutt - and now the hutt needs to face his crimes. But not after the politicians has delivered their propaganda and ensured the populace that the Republic is here to install safety and order.

Objective C
Attack the space port and claim the dreadnought, Enforcer One, for the republic fleet. Fight off pirates and board the vessel as it tried to escape.

The ships appeared out from hyperspace on a massive scale. Larger cruisers immediately sent away their fighters and drop ships hurling themselves toward the surface.
Fleet_-_Trimmed.jpg

Aboard Troop transport R-347 Weiss checked his side arm and muttered his usual curses before being deployed.

"Listen in!" he then continued over his unit com.

"We got a cryo facility on the surface holding an entire batallion of those old clones. Orders are straight forward. They are to be considered prisoners of war and we are to liberate them."
"There is a hutt overlord ruling this moon but our primary objective are the security droids holding the cryo facility. We do not know if they are outdated or hold surprises so stay sharp, awake and focus on the objective at hand."

"Lets bring our brothers home!" weiss bellowed and and got an Orah! in response from the men of the 313th under his command.
Outside muffled explossions began to tear through the hull of the ships. The Moons AA had begun filling up the skies with shells of devestating destruction trying to stop the drop ships from reaching the surface.

Weiss stuck his gun in the holster and removed his helmet. There was time for a cigar before the ships would hit ground.

Vo Dasha was the only moon of the Inner Rim planet of Taboon, located in the Aweris system of the Stenness Node region.

It was a barren place consisting of mountains, canyons, and rocky plains, Typically visitors were forced to wear breath masks. So it was a good thing she had her gift from Matsu.

The climate of the moon was hot and arid, and Vo Dasha had only light gravity. So, given all of the negative indicators, why was Corvus here?

Bogga the Hutt.

He may have been born on the planet Nal Hutta but the powerful and feared crime lord who operated mainly out of the Stenness system in the Inner Rim Territories maintained a private residence on the Stenness moon. And there was an unsubstantiated lead abut some Adegan crystals that she’d uncovered in the archives on the Jedi Praxeum.

So here she was…

Kay had dealt with Hutts before. Mostly Sempra. So she had a general idea of what worked with them and what didn't.

She had arrived via her own hired freighter. One of these days she was going to have to get her own ship. But her funds were always allocated elsewhere.

Kay arrived without any Republic guards as she didn't want to seem as though she was trying to be intimidating.

With word sent ahead, she headed off to meet with Bogga the Hutt. Maybe it would of been better if she had communicated with others in the Republic instead of acting alone, but that just wasn't her way. She shrunk down her Force signature to that of a small tree nut, just in case.

More of his brothers lived. An entire battalion, according to intel. And anyone who thought he would not raze a planet to bring them back would be wrong. Oh, he would do that, and a Hutt crime lord? Not even a second thought involved. He would burn him and his empire to the ground and stick his bloated head on a Force-pike. Back to the Netherworld with Jedi and politicians who would get in his way. He didn't need their orders or their commands or even their support. He didn't even need this Republic. Mandalore would always be home.

He clutched the handgrips in the dropship, kit ready, and the new kids arranged around him. They weren't Alpha class ARCs, or even clones. Instead, they were recruits from various portions of the Republic military. Special operations, predominantly, but a few ambitious few from other departments. He needed independence, courage, a little recklessness, and a steel will, not to mention the willingness needed for the operations they underwent.

They were rapidly approaching the station, flak fire exploding around the vessel as they approached the insertion point, ship adjusting course and momentum as the pilot cut the acceleration, guiding it to the entrance. The door snapped open and Krenis charged forward, blaster up and firing as he sprinted into the corridor, his trainees filing in to cover the hallway.

It was quiet so far.

"Teams of three. Head for the control room," Krenis paused, thinking and studying. "I'll go on alone and meet you there."

The troops split and headed off while Krenis considered, and then he activated his comm to the fleet. "Captain Skirata. Get me a scanned layout of this station, including ventilation shafts."

There wasn't time to have a firefight through the hallways.

The ships swooshed down extracting its landing doors as the darted over the battle field bellow.

"Move move move!"

As one of the units having been dispatched on the moon, the 313th hit the ground running. With artillery shells blowing up around them the troopers worked their way to assemble on the ground just outside the cry facility that was their target.

"These droids are packing heavy! Ground forces requesting bombardment on Delta Y34, Charile 68 pronto!" Weiss shouted in his com as he unstrapped the jet pack he had been using to manage the harsh drop. With his free arm he brought up his rifle followed by a quick move in behind the nearest larger boulder to reach some kind of cover.

"313th!" he then continued to address the troopers under his command. "Our objective is the main entrance! Leave the artillery to the fly boys and focus on what needs to be done! Do not halt, advance and fire!"

Weiss knew intel had pointed out the main force of the facility droids being posted there. While other teams would find side entrances to reach the main objective the 313th would make sur to draw as much attention away from the internal structure as possible. The unit moved against the deadly incoming fire, not without several soldiers being blown away by what appeared to be a heavily fortified droid defensive position just outside the main gate. This was going to be a ride to hell Weiss figured.

Just the way he liked it...

Corvus looked at the ruins of the estate that once housed a Hutt’s dynasty. Half-destroyed pats of the building had been rebuilt with inexpensive, brightly colored plastoid materials. The replacements were slapped onto the old building built of polished stone, making a tawdry contrast.

She spotted a few shuttles, sporting shiny paint and flashing lights. It was obvious that there was trading going on. She knew instinctively what they were buying and selling. Weapons. Spice. Illegal medicines they will sell to the unfortunates in the galaxy. Fortunes were being made down there.

"No longer," she said softly.

Without air traffic guidelines, she didn't need clearance or coordinates. The landing platforms for the complex had all been destroyed. So she set her corvette down in a large courtyard, carefully avoiding the rubble.

She grabbed a survival pack and waited for the ramp to lower.

Once she was on the planet, the Jedi picked her way through the rubble of the courtyard and followed a dark path. She chose not to use a glow rod, not wishing to attract attention. She found a room that seemed miraculously untouched by the ravages of time, until she entered and saw that part of the rear portion had been blown out. The domed ceiling was half destroyed. Stars littered the sky above, thrown like mineral dust on shimmersilk.

"Alpha squad! Move!" The squad moved fast, running through the cross fire and darting in behind cover. Then they opened a barrage of fire against the defending droid barricade.

"Beta squad! Move it!" The second squad rushed past their comrades and darted down into a crate caused by an artillery shell early on in the battle-

"Captain! We are taking heavy losses but we will reach the entrance on schedule!" Lieutenant Palen shouted into his commanding officers ear.

Weiss nodded at his words and returned his binoculars to his eyes.

"Delta squad! Move! he continued ordering the next group in his unit. Then he turned to the Lieutenant.

"Take your sorry arse to the front line Lieutenant! We need a morale boost down there right away!" the grim officer told his second who looked back with a pale face.

"Y.. yes sir..." The young lieutenant started to turn to order the next squad to follow him. He had no time to address them however since a loose shell cut him in half.

"For crying out loud...." Weiss sighed. He knew the men up front faced heavy battle and he had need of an officer there. But since they were all dropping like flies it was perhaps time for himself to join them.

He pulled out his cigar and spat on the ground. A blaster shot fizzled past him ansd hit the communication officer in the chest. While a medic rushed to his aid Weiss grabbed his helmet and jumped down from the platform he had been using to oversee the operation. It had gone so so, and it was time for strategy to be put aside anyway.

"Alpha, Delta, Braco! Hold your positions. The rest of the 313th will make a break for it."

He positioned himself in front of the rest of the Company and pointed forward.

Weiss pressed the trigger fast firing a burst of three shoots finding a droid torso causing it to fly back and land on its back, smoke raising from its metal case. The stair was broad, only a couple of steps high really. But the fighting around it was intense. The droids were programmed to defend it to the last metal piece and so the republic troopers had to keep at it until the bitter end.

The 313th did know how to handle the droids though and there was almost a resemblance to a robotic nature to their own advance, no slowing down, just keep going.
tumblr_nfz6zuKhOI1tulf80o5_400.gif

Smashing a second battle droid toward the ground Weiss turned to the men following.

"Press on! Clear these freakin steps and get that door set up on the double! I wanted it blown high sky yesterday!" the demolition team sprinted forth to start work the explosives on the door way while the rest of the 313th fanned out to secure the stair way from the incoming droid reinforcement.

Behind the gates the first rows of frozen clones was expected to be found. With the seemingly endless amount of droids around here Weiss prayed that the battalion in carbonite would not be too severely hampered. Because even though they were here to rescue them, it seemed that the battle would not be over so swiftly....

Krenis heaved himself up into the ventilation shaft, muttering as his armor bounced back and forth against the metal. Why did they make these shafts so small these days? Back in his time, they were all large enough that he could comfortably fit into any shaft he found. No, he had not put on weight. How rude of you to make that assumption.

Anyways, he began crawling along the duct, trying to stay as quiet as possible. He could hear blasterfire echoing through the facility, both the shafts and through the hallways. Muffled explosions echoed through the facility. That would be unfortunate, if they were not careful. He picked up his pace, dragging himself along. Then he stopped to consider once more, aiming down the ventilation shaft. It would be tight, but it was doable.

He activated the jetpack, sending himself flying forward, scorching the inside of the shafts as the flames heated the metal. This was certainly faster but he questioned its safety. Only for a moment though. It was worth it if it would let him save his brothers. Everything was worth that risk. He could hear chatter from his ARC trainees as they made their way through the facility. He cut the pack and skidded through the tunnel, armor scraping against the metal until he came to a stop, well inside the facility.

So far so good.

"Fire away!"

The explosion was blinding. The troopers visors the only thing saving them from going blind.
The gate was however opened, clining to the sides of what was left of the wall.

"Get inside!" Weiss ordered and stood, firing packs of burst toward the pursuing droids behind him before turning himself to sprint inside.
They were faced by a huge hallway littered with what appeared to be cell blocks all over the walls. A dim emergency light started to find its way to life as the troopers spread out in the area.

"Alright, stay in your squads, dont play hero and sweep this place. Squad leaders report in every second minute. Move out."
his command was followed by several affirmatives as the squad leaders reported in and gathered their units to proceed.

There should be an ARC unit inside here somewhere. Weiss knew that they were supposed to take out the cryo.-facilities main frame, or something. But the 313th had faced far larger opposition then intel had given them and he needed to re-evaluate the plan somewhat. In smaller fire-teams they would most likely be able to hold out longer then in the open field. And so the 313th rushed inside the facility to find and barricade themselves until the clone batallion was freed and able to help them finish these droids of.

[Post=3/20]

She walked deeper into the building, walking fast and purposefully now. She descended several levels and twisted through a small network of tunnels that suddenly opened out into a large space.

It had once been used for storage, that was clear. Open shelving was built into the curving durasteel wall frames. Plastoid bins lined one wall. Everything was empty. Instead, blankets were spread out on the scuffed floor of the space, and a ragtag assortment of items were spread out. Fruit that was past its prime, flour, some battered kitchen items, a broken warming unit. Folded thermal capes, their edges ragged and torn. An old pair of boots.

Bored gang members, blaster rifles in their hands, stood against the walls, some leaning and trying not to doze.

Across the space a woman sat astride a battered durasteel box, her hand resting lightly on her blaster holster. She looked wiry and tough. She wore a comlink headset and spoke rapidly into it while her eyes scanned the room. Corvus kept her hood forward to conceal her face.

The woman’s gaze slowly dropped, and suddenly, she stood and leaped. The strength and power of the leap surprised Corvus. She landed only centimetres away from the Jedi.

"Spy!" she cried, her blaster levelled at Corvus’ chest. "Surround her!"

Location: Haven-class Medical Station above Vo Dasha

2-1B 35 awoke from his 'slumber' in the droid containing facility aboard the station.

"Just another day in the office." 35 said in his usual, calm voice.

35 and the rest of his crew were tasked with monitoring the cryo contained clones once they were rescued. In his past 2-1B 35 had served as a field medic with the Republic. He'd seen many gruesome injuries and expected many from the fight that was about to occur. A clone officer walked into the room. His voice was gruff from lack of sleep.

"Ay you, come with me."

2-1B 35 only nodded and he followed the officer into the main room where work was just getting underway. The officer turned back to 2-1B 35,

"Now, stay here and don't leave your post. I'll be back."

The officer left the room and 2-1B 35 turned to main deck and looked out the window towards Vo Dasha.

"I hope they're alright."

Krenis paused, looking down through the grate. Droids were clanking back and forth, establishing themselves in positions to repel the incoming infantry assault. Just like old times. He popped his neck and pulled an EMP charge from his utility belt. Not many carried them standard issue anymore, but it was old habit for him. After fighting droids, always prepare for droids. It was ingrained in him through training. Learning to fight organics had been totally different.

He shoved the grate aside and dropped the charge down into the center of the room, ducking back into the vent as it went off, frying the droids circuitry. Then he dropped down, landing in a crouch and bringing the rifle up to his shoulder, spraying blaster fire around to take out those that escaped the blast.

He activated his comm.

"ARC teams, defense center clear. Move to the mainframe."

Now it was time to make things even better. He strode to a console and powered it up, running through the controls for the facility, deactivating all the defenses he could.

The woman’s quick action didn't extend to her troops. One man with a headset sputtered toward Corvus, trying to corral others to follow. Corvus could have foiled them in seconds, but she waited for them to approach. Soon she was surrounded by twenty members of the gang, and twenty blasters were pointed in her direction.

Corvus said nothing. Her gaze was calm and watchful. Her strategy usually centred on waiting. She could strike as fast as any Jedi, but he could wait longer than any Jedi should have to, in many people’s opinion. Especially when a blaster was pointed at her heart.

"You're from Line’s gang," the woman, who was clearly their leader, said. "Don't bother denying it."

“I’m no spy," Corvus said. “I’m a Jedi. I’m here for diplomacy, not battles."

"Prove it," the leader sneered,

Only by a small expression did Corvusn reveal how annoyed she was at the request. She put out a hand, and the leader’s headset flew off her head and directly into the Jedi’s grasp.

She spoke crisply into the headset. "Cancel all orders. Take a vacation."

The gang members looked at one another. Corvus could hear confused exclamations and questions faintly coming from the headpiece in her hand. She suppressed his grin as one by one those on the other end of the com link confirmed their vacation plans.

The leader tilted her head in a short nod of appreciation. "Okay, you're a Jedi. Now, can I have my comlink back? They're hard to come by."

The cryo pod holding CT-3817 'Mike' began to thaw, soon the clone fell to the floor. He laid there for a second groaning in pain. As he got up he looked around and saw the fighting infront of him. What....what's going on? Mike thought. He then heard the clanking of droid coming his way Wait....I know that sound, are those clankers?!? The droids then came into view, the same look as they did in the Clone Wars. "One of the clones got out!" screamed the droid commander. Mike frowned I'm not in the correct state to fight these heaps of trash! So he did the only thing he could.....run.

"HOLD THE LINE!"

With an explossion tearing of the southern part of the corridor Weiss squad was pressed hard in a two front fire fight.

"Rear guard, suppressing fire! Do not let them get around that corner! I repeat - DO NOT LET THEM GET AROUND THAT..."

KA-BOOM!

"Freakin...." tossed to the side of the wall Weiss almost smelled his own flesh burn. Tearing of his helmet he dropped to his knees gasping for air.
XgKjR6i.jpg

It took several minutes before he regained his hearing and anew could hear the blaster fire from the battle raging around him. The droid defensive force was outdated, but massive and fully functional.
Pressing himself to his feet he staggered around for a bit trying to get his bearing.

There were fires erupting around them.

Weiss blinked and åpressed the com.

"Listen in 313th! The droids are not joking around. We need to defend those cryo chambers from the expossions and start to unfreeze them while you are at it." he voiced into the radio, knowing that while the squads were already hard pressed they needed to keep buying time. Time for the ARC, time of the scientist, time for themselves if they were to come out of this alive.

Mumbling curses he adjusted his earpiece.
"Kark, we need a freakin melt oven around here." he reached down and picked up a heavy repeating blaster.

"Alpha, on me" he ordered the fatigued troopers around him and started to stumble his way toward the central areas of the facility, where the cryo freezers were located.

"[member="Weiss"], this is @2-1B 35, you need to get in here now! Bad guys are storming the chamber. I fear you will get too late before the guys
BOOM!
A loud explosion could be heard on Weiss's commlink.
"They've breached the chamber, I'll try to defend it. I need back I'm the only one here and---
The transmission cut out.
35 turned towards the droids and pulled out a DC-17 pistol.
"I'm not going to lose these troopers to you. AHHH!"
35 started shooting at the droids, 'killing' them one by one.
"Die droid scum!"
35 continued to lay down blaster fire as more droids pilled in.
"NOOO!"
Yelled out as droids fired on the cryo chambers. He picked up a shield and a vibroblade and started to slash about on the droids. He managed to destroy all the droids in a flurry of sparks and fire. He picked up his commlink and turned it on again.
"I beat them, but I lost two troopers. I'm so sorry [member="Weiss"]."

Corvus tossed it to her and smiled. The leader spoke into it. "Hold your positions until further notice." She glanced at the Jedi. "So you're here for diplomacy. Let's talk."

The woman led the way to a corner. She pulled up a durasteel bin and overturned another for a makeshift seating area. Then she motioned to the Jedi to sit down. She looked at Corvus expectantly.

"The Republic has responded to a call to help the local government,” Corvus said. "They are on the planet right now. It’s a matter of time before they turn their attention to the moon and the activities here."

"In other words, they're going to close us down," the woman said.

"Yes," Corvus said. “They can’t put up with this place indefinitely."

The woman put her hands on her hips. "So what do you want from me?"

"I hope that the crimelords will voluntarily either dissolve their gangs or move off-planet," Corvus said. "Your choice. There's no other."

"And what do I get?" the woman asked.

"You get to avoid going up against the Jedi and an extremely well-armed security force," Corvus said.

The woman gave him a shrewd look. "You'll have to come up with something better than that, Jedi. Surely you know that deals have high stakes when one side has nothing to lose."

"Why don't you tell me what you want?" Corvus suggested. "It will save time."

Pulling the trigger like mad man Weiss fired his repeating rifle fire down the corridor as he was running forward. Several battledroids were forced to back down as Alpha squad followed suit and made the push forward surprise the enemies who otherwise held superior numbers.

The first droid exploded into a lovely spray of metal and wires, the second got its leg blown away and was kept standing with a strange lok upon its droid head. The third machine was hammered in smaller firearm spray and staggered back before it finally succumbed.

Alpha team was making fast progress.

"Roger that [member="2-1B 35"] we are en route, expect our arrival in T minus...." Weiss started but came to an abrupt end.

A green blast wizzled past his left ear, barely touching it but it still caused him to twirl around and tumble down on the floor. to his left private Mendar fell backward. smoke shooting out from his visor. Pulling himself to his knees Weiss drew his side arm and turned to face the new threat.

"COVER! DROIDEKA!"

Then everything went in slow motion as the tunnel was filled with lethal plasma raind drops tearing at everything in its past, friend or foe.

Weiss covered behind a dead comrade lifting his hand gun and firing several futile shots as he again opened a com link.

"To republic forces in the vicinity. This is captain Weiss of the 313th!" he bellowed.

"We just received word that the droids have started to sabotage the cryo freezes. The 313th is pinned down in the eastern section of the facility. We can not reach the objective. I repeat, we can not reach the objective!"
