What do you do with a drowsy Soldier? (Rebels Welcome)

Praesitlyn: ReCal Headquarters
Corruck, [member="Sergeant Glitch"]
Introductions
Background:
A small group of hired explorers had made their way to Kamino. They had been sent by Corruck to find a supposed underwater base. The information they had had been small and almost unusable, however Corruck had paid them well and they had taken the job anyway. Corruck had hoped that the expedition would find information on some of the old Kaminoan cloning techniques or schematics. Unfortunately for him, the base's power station had been damaged along with most of the computers. They were unable to collect anything beyond a biography and some minor notes of no consequence.
At the time the biography made no sense; there were no inhabitants in the station, and there had been no signs of life anywhere. They downloaded the information none the less and continued their exploration. After about half an hour, they accessed damage and decided that the facility wouldn't last much longer with structural integrity being critical within the next century. The only thing of true interest was held within the base's medbay: it was a stasis chamber, in pristine condition, aside from some power damage. They found that there was a person held within. However they decided against letting him or her out, due to the possibility of trouble.

They returned to Corruck with the information and the stasis container complete with person. Corruck had his scientists pour over it, checking for traps or any other danger. From there they had released the female clone, apparently a defective version of one of the early Jango Fett clones. From the DNA samples that the scientists had collected she was very close to the original ones, not being given an advanced growth rate. She was also in an early battle in the Clone Wars, being kept in stasis until there was about a squad's worth of defective troopers for her to lead. Corruck had read through the biography many times while watching the scientists take care of Glitch, nursing her out of stasis and helping her cope with a number of symptoms attached to long term stasis.

After about a month, during which time Corruck had done his best to keep the majority of the Rebels from knowing what had been found, Corruck called in all the Rebels that he could, those that had at least some trust with him and their closest friends. The scientists had decided that enough of the effects had been overcome that Corruck could speak to her and explain what had happened, which they had all avoided talking about.

Present:
Here he was, in a room seated across a drab metal table from what must be a little over 800 year old clone. Certainly a first, he bet. She had been a soldier and well trained, her body reflected that, though it had lost some of its vitality from her time in stasis, this would likely come back over time. The scientists had also warned him about anyone sharing food with her or putting her through very strenuous tasks, her immune system would be getting a battery of vaccines and other medical injections to prepare her body for the outside world.

He had called the Rebel leaders and a number of other people who he was certain could be trusted. He was going to break the news to her today. If some of the technological advancements in the medical ward hadn't told her already, she would soon find out that she wasn't any time near the Clone Wars. She hadn't even been told and now he would have to explain, both the time spent in the stasis and the loss of her squad, that she was unaware of their demise was quite saddening and would probably be quite hard on her.

Glitch was across from him, and while he felt that she wasn't a threat, he still had his pistol at his side, set to stun. His left hand never moved more than a foot away from the holster. His right hand of his mechanical arm was relaxing on the table, tapping out a piece of music he had heard softly on the metal as he thought what to say. He couldn't say much, after all she had seen the beginning of the Clone Wars, probably one of the most bloody times in the war, following the middle portion.

At last he decided to keep his tone and speech somewhat friendly and open. "Well, it is good to see you are in a near fit condition today. How are you feeling?" He clicked the recorder on as he spoke, hidden underneath the table and wirelessly connected to microphones around the room, the recording, both image recorded from the camera in the far right corner and audio would be sent to the whole Rebellion in the near future. He would also have Ultimatum and Vigilant go over the recordings, learning from this soldier of ancient times.

Glitch, as she gazed at Corruck, tried assessing his character. He was obviously tense; anyone could see that. Why, though, Glitch was unaware of. The metal arm on the table was a curiousity in her mind, but not an important facet. The only way she could really assume anything about this man was through his eyes. They seemed very calculating, always observing what's around them. They also seemed to hold a number of secrets. Summing him up, Glitch didn't trust him. Of course, the events from her waking up hasn't aided in her trusting the people here.

After what seemed minutes of irritating finger tapping, Corruck finally spoke. He spoke casually and even friendly, but this didn't fool Glitch one bit. He's probably trying to sum her up just as she's trying to him. Both had a guard up, and both would try gently prodding each other to note reactions. This, at least, was what Glitch concluded they would try doing. She definately will.

Glitch thought about Corruck's question for a few seconds. How am I feeling? Well, she had woken up in a strange medbay, surrounded not by kaminoens, but a mix of other species. The equipment they used were far more advanced than Glitch had ever seen. While the doctors and scientist were helping her recover, none of them wore the Republic insignia. None of them would also give her straight answers for certain questions, like Where am I? or What is the date?. Once she had recovered enough, she was led the this room with only a table and a single camera in. However, the most troubling thought was where her squad was.

With all this in mind, Glitch replied, "Fine."

Corruck guessed that the Sergeant's speech was not how she felt. He further guessed that as a military member she was sizing him up and trying to figure any weaknesses. Based on the situation she could feel threatened, especially if he acted suspicious in any way. The unfortunate thing was that the information he would have to pass along, about her squad mates death and the time would be a little problematic. Hence, he kept his hand near his blaster. It was set to stun, he didn't want to hurt her but he didn't want her to attack him either.

He decided to take the next answers carefully. "I hear you have some questions. Now's the time to ask them." He had to be careful, her emotions would probably spike with the answers and that was not something he wanted to happen.

There were so many questions Glitch wished to ask; her team being main on her mind. She knew, however, she had to be tactiful. She still was unaware if she was in an enemy's hands. She carefully thought through her questions, trying to sort out which one were most important, which ones might give away information about herself or the Republic, and what would most likely be answered.

Finished sifting through, she finally asked, "Where am I?" This seemed the most basic question to ask, and one that can hopefully be answered.

Corruck smiled, he could answer that one easily. "You are on a planet called Praesitlyn. We are in a Research and Production facility for a small ally company."

He didn't say that the company was his own, there was no need to say that at this point. He was somewhat glad that that was the first question. It would give him more time to figure out the answers for the other more important questions that would most definitely come. The quandary that [member="Sergeant Glitch"] would find herself in was quite a thought provoking one. What would happen if he were taken out of his time and everyone he knew was dead? He would be very lost and would probably be very defensive.

[member="Corruck Kazen"]

Glitch took some time to contemplate Corruck's words. Praesitlyn was not a planet she recognized. It obviously wasn't terrribly important to the Republic to even be mentioned to her or most other clones. And who was the small ally company? Also, why would she be brought here? While these questions did burn in her mind, more important questions needed to be asked first.

Now came one of the more pressing inquiries. "What is the date?" She was to have been awoken only a few years after being put into stasis. The only indications of prehaps more than a few years was the more advanced equipment around her during recovery.

Corruck hesitated for a moment, this was one of two questioned he had not wanted to answer. The problem was that he had given her permission to ask and he was therefore supposed to answer truthfully. He could lie, but then that would only put off the fact that she would find out anyways. He was lucky that the scientists that had taken care of her had not already told her the time, even though he had ordered them not to there was often the one or two who would talk. Now that he had to answer, there would be a little less difficulty dealing with the other question, he hoped...

He kept all emotion out of his voice as he spoke, "It is about the year 844 ABY. It has been a little over 850 years since last you were awake." He waited quietly for her response, tense, his left hand falling to his leg even closer to the pistol he had with him.

Glitch stared at him in disbelief. That couldn't be true. He must be mistaken. The Republic couldn't have left her for that long. And they certainly couldn't have forgotten her. Could they? Of course not! Her squad wouldn't have allowed it! Her friends wouldn't have allowed it. Unless........unless something happened......Glitch refused to think that way. However, if Corruck was right about the date, her team wouldn't be around anymore. And why would he lie to her? What possible reasons would he have to tell such a fib? Glitch could percieve none, though that didn't mean there wasn't one.

After some consideration, Glitch decided that, while not trusting Corruck completely, she did believe his answer. But it still shocked her.

Next question: "How did you find me?" She obviously wasn't left in the open for anyone to find.

"It was an accident, I had gotten hold of some info on a secret underwater base. A team was sent in and they were able to collect you and information on almost everything about you and your squad mates. They brought you here and the scientists looked after you." Corruck replied automatically, evidently the last answer had been enough, he had watched her eyes and almost seen her thoughts as she tried to comprehend.

He stood for a moment, he wanted to check outside and see if anyone was waiting to meet the rescued clone. He opened the door slightly, almost missing Ultimatum's silvery metal body against the almost exact same colored wall. The AI seemed to be listening, or looking, or somehow observing the talk inside. Corruck was mildly annoyed, the scientists were supposed to keep the droid busy training and downloading information. Corruck was about to say something when Ultimatum looked inside for a single moment, looking over Corruck and at [member="Sergeant Glitch"] before turning and leaving. No explanation, no speech even. That droid still baffled Corruck, even though he had been there to see the AI's creation.

He looked around once more but saw no one, he activated the small screen on the door. It now read that the room was open for visitors. Then he sat back in his chair and brought his attention back to Glitch. He apologized, "Sorry about that. More questions?"

Glitch's stomach jumped as she heard the mention of her squad. So there was information about them. She was about to ask about them when [member="Corruck Kazen"] stood up and walked to the door. When it opened, she tried her best to peek outside and learn what the surroundings here like. However, a large droid drew her complete focus to it. She had never seen such a droid before. Glitch tensed up. It was in her nature to distrust nearly all droids unless they have any resembalence to a medical droid or told otherwise. This machine reminded her too much of a super battledroid for her comfort. When it made eye contact with her, Glitch instinctively dropped her hand to where her gun usually was, only to find nothing there. She was releaved when it walked off.

When Corruck took a seat again, Glitch asked in a lower voice, as though afraid someone might overhear, "What was that droid?"

Corruck thought for a moment, he couldn't tell the whole truth as Ultimatum was still something of a secret to most of the galaxy. He didn't know how the clone would respond to the idea of a droid meant for war, basically the thing she had been fighting against. It wasn't as if she would see or hear of him again, since Ultimatum was going to be moved somewhere more secure. At least, that would be the order Corruck would give once he was done here.

He decided to lie, or at least tell a half truth. "He's one of the work droids here, he's a little weird and tends to like to see new people. Doesn't understand privacy quite as well as he should."

Glitch glanced back at the door. She had a feeling Corruck wasn't telling her the complete truth, but as the droid wasn't concerned with her revival, Glitch pushed the matter aside. Her mind went back to what Corruck had said before the droid interupted them. "You said the base I was found in had information about my squad. What happened to them?"

This is one of the questions Glitch was really wanting answered. Obviously, all her squad had died, but she wanted to know how, and why they hadn't spoken up about her as years passed by.

Corruck forced his entire body to relax, to make him appear less on edge. Everything slowly loosened, everything except the hand that had inched its way up to within three inches of his blaster. He knew how he would feel if all the people who were his friends died in such a way as her squad mates had. Survivor's guilt. That would probably hit soon after her initial reaction, which he wasn't certain of. It was an interesting problem, one that he hoped never to have to live through himself. He felt pity for this lost trooper. She was lost in a galaxy that was so far from her own, so far from the galaxy that was owned mostly by two large factions.

He pulled himself up so that he had one arm on the table. He moved his other arm, the one closer to the blaster, to the edge of the table. He then spoke, "They died in battle, they were ambushed, but held their own." What he left out was the fact that the planet they had died on had been of little strategic value compared to some of the other targets.

Glitch drew in a sharp breath. Her whole body tensed. She should have been there. She shouldn't have accepted the offer to be a test subject. Glitch's mind flickered through her team: Max, Whisper, Twitch, Bucky, Knives, Halves, Wheezer, Mother, and Tails. All gone. And here she was, alive about 850 years in the future.

"Thank you, [member="Corruck Kazen"]," Glitch thanked him. Her voice showed her tensed state. "For now, that is all I wish to know."

Corruck listened and let was glad that the clone was able to hold in any anger that she felt. It was truly an unfortunate fate, a cruel twist of destiny some may have said. He looked forward to the day that she would get over the loss, maybe move on and become something greater. Until that day, she would likely want to keep the information on her squad mates and herself. It was saved to a datapad that he was planning on leaving with her. He stood, taking one last look at the clone before walking to the door, "When you want to head to your quarters, just ask one of the people outside. They'll take you there."

He looked around outside, but he didn't see anyone nearby. He walked to where the clone's room was and left the datapad on her bunk. He then walked out, he would see her later. Maybe by then he wouldn't have any more bad news to bring to her.

One of those people outside was the well known, well loved and well...drunk....Benefactor Thane Drexel. Though, most people just called him Sir or Benefactor nowadays. He was propped up against the wall, because it helped to stoo the planet from spinning too hard. Sipping on a bottle of bubbly, Thane awaited the newest member of the RA. A Series-1 clone, yet female and still alive. Found in a cryo-chamber, she is the last of her kind.

"Hope shezz cute..."

"Thank you," Glitch repeated, unaware that Corruck had left. She was in great shock. The sudden weight of her lose hit her. The sudden urge to destroy something overwhelmed her. Glitch stood up suddenly, her chair slidding an inch or two before falling to the floor with a loud clank. Her knuckles were white as her hands clentched the table edge. Only years of training prohibited her from trying to turn the table over that instant.

Taking a few deep breaths, Glitch replaced the chair back to it's place and walked out the door. Her eyes scanned the hallway, wondering who was supposed to show her the room. Her gaze fell on a man leaning against a wall. He held a bottle in his hand, and obviously had been drinking from it. She could see that he wasn't properly sober. A whiff also alerted her to the alcohol on him.

Glitch dipped her head in acknowledgment. "Hello," she greeted politely, but professionally.
