Private What a relief.

Dagos arrived on Far Pando not sure what to expect. Well not entirely sure. He knew that the world was simple, farmlands that provided agriculture for much of this sector and for others as well. He knew that families impacted by the various conflicts in this part of the galaxy were here and he knew the world was ostensibly controlled by a near hutt species called Yahk-Tosh.

But that was all surface, things he could learn from a brochure on the flight over from the Silver Rest. What he needed to know, or what he wanted to know and what he did not know were all the same. Why was he chosen to be sent here of all places? What would he be doing? And most importantly who was going to be his new tutor while Ryuchi was off dealing with whatever important Jedi chit the council sent him to deal with.

He waited patiently near the transport that had dropped him off, helping to unload the relief supplies.

The Peaceful Aura

Drel sat in his humble little tower just on outskirts of a small prospering town on Far Pando.

He had come here many years ago once, but since he had returned recently as a Silver Warden. He had traveled to many worlds within Wild Space and unoccupied territories within pockets of the Outer Rim. Almost on each of these many worlds, the local populace couldn't always protect themselves. It also seemed to Drel that there weren't many Wardens as he once thought. He took it upon himself to travel to all of these worlds. He would uphold peace and provide any aid he could, because it was what Silver Wardens did, and also because, It was just the right thing to do. It became even more important to him, when vagrant families of Alliance/Concord Soldiers arrived on the planet seeking refugee. Most of their husbands, mothers, daughters, and sons had served in the first wave and some of them were from worlds that had been conquered by the Drael menace.

He had been on Far Pando for over 2 weeks at the time, and was preparing to leave for a short trip to Daluuj, to check on with his friends, the Barabels. However, he decided to stay a few more days, after a complication happened with some of the townsfolk and their mayor. Drel resolved it easily enough, but he stayed to monitor the rest of the situation and tend to care for anyone else he could.

It was then, after he stood by the U-shaped pond, in the tall high grass, and had begun to meditate under the Gazebo at the edge of the pond, his quaint and humble tower placed only 60 meters away behind him now.

Drel felt something. Through the force. A presence?

He searched. Yes. It was a presence. Another Jedi?

Yes it was a Jedi or at least a good soul with force sensitivity. It wasn't extremely powerful, but he could sense kindness, care, strength, and hope.

He searched deeper and that is when he could see a young man, helping a group of workers unload supplies from a civilian transport. That was the Jedi. Drel could sense that is was. With his eyes still closed, Drel could see the young man as if his eyes were open. That meant the boy was on Far Pando and better yet was close by as he must of been at the makeshift spaceport platform that the locals had hastily made a few years ago to accommodate for the increasing number of civilian and refugee ships that delivered more and more displaced peoples.

Drel kept his eyes closed, but reached over and grabbed the commlink lying on the floor next to him. His Besalisk arms made it easier to maintain his meditation form and still pick up a small object without any worry at all.

He brought it to his mouth, to speak into.

"Creshic, my friend, are you there?"

The Barabel replied, "Yess Jedi".

The Barabel was named Creshic Thakruul, a former tracker and bounty hunter.

He had fought with Drel when the Bryn had invaded Barab I, the Barabel homeworld. Drel arrived just in time before the Bryn closed off the planet with their forces. He joined with the Barabel Home Army, which consisted of 95% of the planet's population that were able to fight. The Barabel forces numbered at least 400,000, with support from 20 Jedi including Drel and his second Padawan, 2,000 Silver Jedi Defense Force Troops, and 75 Antarian Rangers. The Battle of Barab I was bloody and atrocious. The SJC and allies took heavy losses, however, so did the Bryn. A week into the Battle, Drel led his Padawan, 4 Jedi Knights, and 40 of the best Barabel warriors he could find and attacked the HQ of the Drael commander. They came out victorious, but not without cost. Drel slew the Commander and his personal guard himself, but was wounded. Unfortunately, his Padawan was mortally wounded and died in Drel's arms as they were evacuated by gunship. Nearly all of the Barabel that had gone with them had died, except for one, Creshic Thakruul. A month later, the Bryn wiped out the last large force of the allied forces when the capital, Alater-ka was taken. The Silver Jedi had lost 1,840 Defense Force Troops and all but 6 Antarian Rangers. Now, with defeat inevitable, their only chance to escape was to be evacuated with the civilians offworld. As Drel and the few remaining Jedi helped get everyone onto GR-75 Transports, 200 brave Barabel held off the entire Bryn invasion force in a desperate rear guard action to allow the Jedi as much time as possible. It worked and over 530,000 were evacuated. The entire Barabel rear guard was annihilated. Drel remained for another day, going with the surviving Barabels into hiding on the planet, however they convinced him to depart and Drel promised to one day return and free their world. He escaped and returned his late Padawan's body to the young man's brother.

Creshic had joined up back with Drel after the Bryn invasion subsided. Since then he has traveled around Wild Space along Drel's side, protecting others and doing some bounty work here and there. He worships Drel as almost a living deity, especially more so, as Drel fought side by side with the Barabels to defend their homeworld

"Alright Creshic, go to the landing platform in town". "There you will find a young man, a young Jedi".

"Bring him to me if you could". "I wish to greet him".

"Yes Hasharuush, it will be donez", that word, Hasharuush, means "Strong Protector" in Barabel. A way for them to symbolize their worship of the Jedi. Barabels also put "z" at the end of some of their words in basic.

Drel put down the commlink and went back to meditating, awaiting the arrival of the young Padawan.

Creshic crept through the sprawling town, filled with small homes and bustling markets. He reached the platform, where a civilian transport had just landed. As he got closer, he could see a young man, probably a Jedi. He could tell by the Lightsaber at his side and the clothes he wore. Creshic walked to the boy's front and bowed slightly before him. He matched the description that Drel had given him and he was the only one on the platform that looked anything like a Jedi.

"Welcomez Young Jedi". "I am Creshic, at your servicez".

He lifted his head up to glare at the Padawan, "Follow me, Jedi Natrik wishes to greet youz". He turned and looked back at the Jedi, ready to answer any questions and lead him towards Drel Natrik, Jedi Master.

Dagos gave a small half-bow back to the alien that just approached him, Ryuchi had after all taught him manners. He however never took his eyes off of the stranger who was a Barabel and a well armed one at that. Dagos had no experience with Barabel himself but he had asked Joran if he was ever afraid to take a bounty. Joran Del-Finn was Dagos’ martial trainer before the boy joined the jedi and bounty hunter before that. and a Mandalorian, and like seven feet tall and like three-hundred pounds but he had told Dagos that he would often skip over any jobs that concerned a Barabel.

Sure Dagos had a lightsaber on his hip, the traditional weapon of the Jedi order and in the right hands the deadliest thing in the galaxy but Dagos’ hands were not the right ones. He had not been a Jedi long and the training he had gotten from his master Ryuchi Ryo was as good as it gets, he just hadn't gotten enough of it. If this Barabel was here to cause trouble, there would be little Dagos would be able to do about it.

"Welcomez Young Jedi". "I am Creshic, at your servicez".

Well that was unexpected. He wasn’t sure what he thought a Barabel sounded like before today but it was not that. It was not funny or cute or especially weird, it was just unexpected and that put Dagos slightly more at ease. Along with Dagos using the force like his master had taught him and sensing no deception from the reptilian, Dagos was perfectly calm.

He lifted his head up to glare at the Padawan, "Follow me, Jedi Natrik wishes to greet youz". He turned and looked back at the Jedi, ready to answer any questions and lead him towards Drel Natrik, Jedi Master.

“I’m Dagos.” The boy said holding his hand out to the weirdly formal Barabel, Dagos hardly bowed to greet anyone instead preferring to clasp hands. “It’s nice to meet you, Creshic, please lead the way.”

Dagos slung a stylish black backpack over his shoulders and followed after Creshic. The pack wasn’t large and Dagos did not bring a lot, a few changes of clothes, a couple pairs of shoes, some credits and some martial arts holos. He couldn’t wait to change out of robes, normally he wouldn’t have even put them on but he wanted to make a good impression.
Dagos managed a few quick see-you-laters to the people he was helping with the unloading and headed out of the makeshift landing pad with his new escort.

As they traveled through the town and Dagos got a look at several of the small homes full of families, he knew he was in the right place, that he had made the right choice to come to this world and help these people.

“Creshic? Can I ask why it is...Natrik was it? Can I ask why Natrik sent you to meet me instead of coming themself?” As far as Dagos could tell and that may not be far at all, he was after all pretty new to this Jedi thing, Creshic wasn’t a Jedi or even force sensitive at all, so the young man was curious on the Barabel’s story and history with the mysterious Jedi who Dagos knew literally nothing about not even what species they were.

The Peaceful Aura

Creshic stopped and turned quickly to the young jedi following him. Stepping forward until he was only a foot away from the young man. He then bowed again and grasped the Jedi's hands with his both and bowed his head downwards again as a sign of reverence. He then stood up and resumed taking the young Jedi to the Jedi Master that awaited him. As they exited through town, the Jedi asked Creshic a question.

"Creshic? Can I ask why it is...Natrik was it? Can I ask why Natrik sent you to meet me instead of coming themself?”.

"Master Natrik is most worshipped friend of the Barabels".

"All Jedi are admired by me and kinz, for eons ago, an Ithorian Jedi saved us from internal destructionz". "Since then, all Barabels owe Jedi our respect & worshipz".
He continued as they crossed over a hill on the outskirts of town. Once they went over it, only the tops of the tall buildings could be seen behind.

"Howeverz, Jedi Natrik is more to us". "He stoodz with Barabels when the Drael came to our world". "He fought with us, he bled with us, even while he took own loss himself". "He proved worthy of being the Hasharuush, a title bestowed upon the greatest Jedi in our tongue".

"Much time laterz, I returned to Natrik after the Drael had takenz to slow their ravage". "I have been with him since, and will remain until his promise is kept".

For the first time in a little while, the Barabel stopped and turned his side to face the Jedi youngster. "The Hasharuush is mediating". He then immediately turned back as he now led Dagos into a small forest before coming upon a massive swath of tall grass & farm crops stretching for miles horizontally. Just in front of the them, the dirt & gravel path they had been on before now turned into a narrow wooden road, leading through the grassland to the pond. Minutes later, through a thin tree line, a small tower could be seen to their right. They kept down the wooden path and as they got closer, the tall grass grew shorter until they reached a clearing where the quaint tower rested. Another wooden ramp could be seen straight ahead and led to the bank of a river. At the end of the ramp, a gazebo could be spotted and underneath it, a large humanoid could be seen sitting in peace.

Creshic now stopped as he was even with the tower, and as the Jedi slowly stopped besides him. They both looked towards the river and towards the figure sitting at its edge. The Barabel turned to look upon the young Jedi.

He bowed again and gestured to the wooden ramp and to the gazebo. "There young Jedi". It was clear he was gesturing to the large figure sitting beneath the gazebo's tiny roof. "There he awaits". Without even standing up completely, Creshic backed away then soon turned around and entered the tower.

The beauty of worlds like this. Their peaceful nature, their quiet tomes, their air of light. Drel felt most at peace when meditating, as did most Jedi. Aye, he enjoyed many more things nearly as much and some perhaps situationally more. However, meditation was something he had enjoyed that allowed him to really tune into the force and embrace its guiding light.

He could now sense the young jedi again. He could sense that he was getting closer and Creshic was bringing him as he was asked to do.

He kept his sitting stance, faced forward to the pond. The young man was approaching him. When he did get closer, he would greet him. He did not wish for anything at this moment, other than to meet the young jedi. Not many of the order came to Far Pando. Drel had also not spoken with any of this Jedi brethren in weeks, being busy keeping peace in wild space. Honestly, he felt more calm when he was meditating and thinking alone, though he did enjoy the company of others, especially those with kindred souls and good hearts.

As the Jedi walked upon the wooden ramp towards him, Drel could sense him all the while. Jedi are at their most attuned senses and are most connected to the force while in meditation. It is nearly impossible to sneak upon a meditating Jedi.

As the young man approached him from behind, he was now only within a dozen or so feet. Drel wasn't exactly sure where he stopped behind him, but he was now in hearing range. Now Drel began his greeting.

"Welcome", said Drel in a some what booming but calm & peaceful voice.

Still in meditation, Drel kept his stance solitude and continued, only moving his mouth to speak with his eyes still closed.

"I am Jedi Master Drel Natrik". He hoped he didn't frighten the young man. Hopefully he wasn't scared of his somewhat loud voice and Besalisk features. He just was a kind soul who wanted a greeting. He continued, "And you are also a Jedi, are you not?".
