A slow arch of an auburn brow would follow Irani’s elaboration on just what he was here to do. She kept her expression of cordiality, a faint seemingly interested smile gracing the curve of her crimson lips.

She would give a slight incline of her head, a subtle agreement one would say. Oh but it was hard to determine just what went on behind the mind of a woman, much the less one like Dangeruese Arceneau. Water certainly was one of the main building blocks of life; more so on Tatooine. This is why the moisture farmers were carefully regulated. Own the water, well.. you own Tatooine.

While bringing an influx of water would certainly be beneficial to the Tatoo System, the question was if Danger actually wanted to bring a steady stream of availability to it. MOisture farmers were on top of this business for a reason… taking their one commodity with a commercialized venture would upset folks.

“And just how do you imagine this plan of yours to work?” she would ask the man, leaning back against her chair as she would continue to pop tiny sticky morsels of the decadent dessert.

“I know this system in and out Mistah Darell,” she would appear slightly amused, granted this was all just her playing the role. “Ice don’t mean you got yourself drinkable water -- you’ve a refinement to go along with it beyond merely mining ice.” To say that it hadn’t been considered would be an understatement, but one had to humor a man.

“So how would this pan out not only for the best… but at the worst?”

Darell Irani was mostly a person who liked to take risks and chances, above all in this conversation he was mostly just spitballing. He doubted there would be a lot of profit in giving the people of Tatooine water, most of them were poor moisture-farmers, the money they had? Probably pennies compared to what a man like him was used to seeing in a transaction.

But Starchaser and the Techno Union wishes to explore all options to uplift their citizens, which includes the people of the Tatoo System.

And yet Arceneau didn’t seem to be interested.

Both of them knew that the refinement of ice into drinkable water was a non-issue, it didn’t even come close to the top of the list of things that could put a damper onto the general mood set. Especially considering the fact that people have been mining the ice to provide water to Tatooine for a long time now, just never on a grand-scale.

Which brought us back to the actual problem, the reason why people might get really upset.

Established relationships of power and commerce, moisture farmers. They wouldn’t be so keen on fresh water flooding their markets, no? Would put a downlow on their own wares, shet wouldn’t flow anymore and what they gotta do then?

If there was one thing that Darell liked to do every once in a while- just to not let things to all to stale during a conversation, was to drop the game and the attitude. Bring it back towards the gist of things.

It ain’t no refinement that is the true problem, miz Arceneau.’ Irani would answer, between taking a sip and a bite of that delicious Baklava. A sign that he truly had appreciated her cuisine, and hadn’t just said it to humor her. ‘It’s the prospect of cheap clean and above all fresh water flooding the markets and overturning prices that is, no?

Perk of the eyebrow, as he took another sip and waited for her to respond in some manner.

Now that surprised her.

[member="Darell Irani"] had managed to picked up her true concern; the real reason why mining the ice from the rings on a grand scale would not be something she was keen on.

It wasn't profit in so much on what the repercussions would be with the Moisture Farmers. This was their living, collecting and gathering what they could from the early morning and evening mystery mists that brought up moistures from the canyons and ravines of Tatooine.

A slow arch of her brow would relay that she was subtly impressed; she gave a slow blink, her head canting to the side.

"Well, I reckon since you figured that out... then you can understand my hesitation at shifting the norm." she would state plainly. Folk on Tatooine were a plain kind of people; they worked hard and gathered a good wage. Granted, slavery and the like would still bring all manner of criminal activity to the dusty planet, but it was her planet none the less. Arceneau Trade held influence here, and in that she also gained support.

Irking the Moisture farmers was not in her long term plan goals.

"It is a careful balance I must maintain here, Mistah Darell. A delicate balance I am keen on making sure remains." the expression and tone she gave said that unless he had a good plan to make her change her mind.

Odds are she wasn't going to at 'tall.
