Welcome to the academy

"I see you are already adapt at this, good. Now see if you can direct the bolts back to the droid so you can disable it, and also back at me. Don't worry that my lightsabre is holstered. Just concentrate on the bolts you deflect and then using the Force guide them back to the source."

Jade wasn't concerned at the bolts coming back at her, assuming her padawan was up to the task. She knew that she could pull out her lightsabre, ignite it and deflect his returning bolts back at him again with ease.

As expected Jade anticipated the bolt coming for her leg and another 2 at her upper body. In mere seconds she was able to retrieve her lightsabre, ignite it and defend herself. The bolt coming for her leg she was able to stop without any problems, the next was very much the same, with the third just missing her upper right shoulder. She cursed under her lips at that fact not too pleased at herself as she flipped through the air, lightsabre still ignited and landed behind her padawan who she would then wait to turn around.

"You passed that test with flying colours. Now let's duel shall we?"

Jade gestured with her left arm pointing out slightly to the side, whilst holding her lightsabre with the other.

As Jade landed behind D'vok, he would take a blind stab at her, narrowly missing the left side of her lower hip and to Jade's total annoyance. Of course she was annoyed at herself at her own sloppiness, yet her padawan was proving to be better than what he had made out to be when they had met.

"Clearly you're more than just a freighter pilot. Where did you learn to do all this? Most new padawans wouldn't get this far on their first day of training."

Jade would extinguish her lightsabre as she spoke, indicating she wanted to stop for at least a few minutes. She seemed to be breathing a little heavier than usual. Afterall it had been some time since she last had duelled with a lightsabre, and looking at the strong fit young man she was training, she had to be at least 10 years or more older than him.

"I see. You're quite adapt already as a result. Great!"

Jade then reignited her lightsabre.

"Okay let's test your fencing skills now. Remember these are live weapons now and not training sabres or blasters set to stun. So a bit of care and caution is required."

Jade initiated by striking forward at her padawan, moving to the side, striking, lunging and striking and so forth and so forth. With every move, the intensity of the strikes and speed would increase.

"Very good padawan, very good. You're excelling so far. Your lightsabre styles are familiar too. We can stick to those too. Juyo and Ataru. It's okay to mix, but you don't need any fist fighting while wielding a lightsabre. Unless you wanna come up close and can throw in a punch or two."

Jade giggled a little as she spoke and managed to get close enough to her padawan to squeeze in a kick which hit him dead centre in the gut.

"Just like that for example."

Jade would say as she giggling as she continued her strikes at her padawan.

"Of course you can. In a real battle, anything goes. You could even pull out a blaster if you want, but why would you when you can do this."

Jade suddenly using the Force by nodding her head caused several objects from the nearby woods to lift in the air, and then sent them hurtling towards her padawan as she simultaneously kept her attack with her lightsabre.

"Now try that for size. Block the incoming objects while still defending against my attacks."

Jade would say laughing as she spoke, yet keeping the intensity high and maintaining seriousness.

"Charming indeed!"

Jade said as she now intensified her sabre forward attacks and at the same time had two large trees ripped out from their roots on the ground, and hurled them towards D'vok. So far he had managed to have an answer for everything she had thrown at him.

"Rather than cut those incoming trees, see if you can stop them midair and even re-direct them back at me. Of course you'll still have to deal with my sabre attacks so therefore you can't drop your guard. You'll need to focus on me and simultaneously focus on the trees. Any stuff ups and either I'll get you, or the trees will."

D'vok dodged the two incoming trees and instead hurled a rather medium chunky sized rock at Jade, and to her utter annoyance. Waiving her hand and using the Force, she flicked the rock to the left side of her and away.

"I instructed you to stop the incoming trees and then if possible, send them back at me. Yet you dodged them and threw that rock at me. Whilst you clearly are up to the task, you still need to follow my instructions whilst I am teaching."

Jade then signalled D'vok to stop with the sabre duelling and turned her own sabre off.

"I wanted you to stop the incoming trees in midair, when you then tried to hurl them back at me, I would have stopped them too. Then we would've had a battle of Force strengths and seen who would've had to end up dodging the trees in the end to not get hit. For example had I not been able to stop you from hurling the trees back at me because you just happened to be stronger, then I would've been the one moving out of the way. Perhaps we'll do this next time."

Jade put her left hand on her padawan's right shoulder as she holstered her lightsabre with the other.

"You did extremely well today. You have gone well past my expectations. Now you need to rest...... I need to rest."

Jade pointed out the last bit a little exhausted.

"You wanna go get a drink or something? We can discuss tomorrow's training over a few drinks if you like."

As master and padawan walked back to the local cantina, Jade felt a little fatigue. Of course she wound never admit this to her padawan, but the day's training with her padawan had exherted more energy than anticipated. And being in my mid 30s is supposed to be the prime of my fitness levels. She wound think to herself. Clearly she had lost some of her edge as ten years earlier she could've easily did what she had done today and kept going for a lot longer and still not be tired. At least with age comes wisdom.

"So are you interested in advanced pilot training at any stage of your training."

Jade would suddenly rip out the question out of the blue as the two were walking.

Jade smiled at D'vok as he replied. The two arrived at a local cantina and took a seat inside.

"I'll order a Corellian whisky for me."

Jade told the droid waiter and waited for D'vok to order his drink. After he would eventually do so Jade wound continue with the pilot talk.

"I'm an ex Imperial fighter pilot and then New Republic. I was very much the top ace in my squadron. I was part of a Republic fleet called the Retribution Fleet. I'm sure I can show you a thing or two if you're up to the challenge later."

Jade smirked as she spoke and laughed. When it came to piloting, her cockiness hadn't changed at all as she had gotten older.
