Private Welcome to a Cyber Paradise

Alora talked about random things going on around the capitol, stupid merchant stuff, and pretty much whatever came to mind that had nothing to do with Sith, Cybernetics, or fighting. Banal, silly things designed not to raise Shai's blood pressure or cause her to tense up. Despite the idle banter, the Mandalorians' hands went to work moving parts around and manipulating the equipment to manipulate the synth-skin to minimize whatever discomfort Alora could and preserve everything.

Every now and then Alora's eyes popped up to the monitor of Shai's physiological readings. A little elevated, but that was to be expected given the serious look Shai had given Alora before it all began. It was all still too new to the other woman; the mental or emotional scars were still there. Of course the Wardog had figured out how to manage them, but that didn't mean there wasn't still some work to do there too.

When it came time for Shai to roll over, Alora paused for a moment with her honey brown eyes on the woman's back. There'd been a moment she'd considered verifying the woman wanted to be awake for everything. Just a moment. If Alora had asked it might have implied she doubted Shai's resolve. All she could do was silently sigh and begin the preparations.

Alora's lips pressed together in a thin line as the stubborn woman began to whimper. The work stopped the instant Shai reached out to grab at her Cyberdoc. Thankfully the pain had made clear what Alora couldn't. It wasn't a matter of being strong enough; like the spine was a massive part of the nervous system, if torturers around the galaxy had direct access to tap it any way they wish they'd do so gladly.

"Alright, Shai. Alright. Don't you worry, you'll be awake before you know it," Alora replied as she reached over to get an injector with an anesthetic concoction. "Won't take a second longer than necessary." With that in mind she'd apply it immediately so Shai didn't have to wrestle with any 'What Ifs' that just popped in there.

Gambit, monitor her vitals. Make sure she stays under deep.

Of course.

Last thing they needed was Shai remembering any of the back work. No waking up midway and being paralyzed on Alora's watch. Stuff of nightmares. Literally. In fact, Alora worried if something like that had happened before with Shai. Would explain the paranoia about the procedure.

The spine and ribs were a massive undertaking to work on. Alora felt like she barely blinked as her hands darted from the supplies to Shai over and over again with numerous tools and gizmos brought to bear to perform the operation to minimize the recovery time.

After an eternity, Alora passed a sanitizing sweep over Shai's back after everything had been closed up. As she set that down, she picked up another injector that would counteract the sedative and help Shai rouse from unconsciousness.

POYO! Shai Maji Shai Maji
