Weekend Treasure Hunt 27: Tatooine Trainwreck (open to all)

The space train tumbled out of hyperspace, missed safe orbit by an unsafe margin, and broke to pieces in atmosphere. Repulsors and inertial dampeners turned each train compartment into its own escape pod. Surviving the crash, however, struck the survivors as cold comfort. The deserts of Tatooine promised lethal surprises.

Ah, the joys of public transit.

Well kark. Was about all that went through Leo's head before the crash, the wind ripping at the carriage as it smashed down into the desert below. Leo regained consciousness as the twin suns beat down on his face, temporarily blinding him as he tried to stand. "Well, this doesn't look." Leo said aloud, no one willing to listen. He'd received only minor injuries from the crash, nothing to serious, but he had no idea where he's landed, but he knew he had to get out of here soon.

Leo spied a town in the distance, down and across the dunes. It would take awhile, and the copious mounts of sand would obviously be a hindrance, but right now it seemed like the preferable option to being killed by some wandering Tusken party. Putting one foot in front of the other, he stabalised himself and began to walk towards his unexpected destination.

Location: Middle of nowhere, Northern Dune Sea, 10 miles North of Jabba's Palace.
Time: 426 GST (Galactic Standard Time.)

The Dune Sea was quiet except for the calm whistle of the wind under one of Tatooine's moons. Suddenly a loud POP! was heard from the sky. Something was heading towards the ground faster than the speed of sound when suddenly BOOM! after a huge impact that kicked up a large amount of sand it was quiet again. suddenly the door swung open with a smiling Jim Pehico.

"Another Happy Landing." Jim said as he took a swig of lum from his flask.

the ship he had been on was attacked by Hutt pirates. Unfortunately for him the Pirates outnumbered the passenger's 5 to 1. Jim wasn't a betting man but if he was, he would've put his life savings on the Hutt thugs killing him if he had retaliated. Jim sat on the cold ground for a bit. Jim knew that he either had to face the cold nights or the hot days. so he awaited to see if any other survivors from the ship had fallen nearby. if not he had a weeks worth of rations in the pod. He went back inside his pod to get some rest. Tomorrow was going to be a long day.

Tatoonie was a place Fiore really didn't want to return to. The last time she was here she had made contact with her lost flame...where they stood now was left to the cosmos. Although she had been lucky the last time she had been on the desert planet, it didn't mean she was going to strike gold twice. She should have listened to Mira and learn to pilot, she had a ship now, but still. Private transports made a lot of noise and Fiore still had a job to do.

As the pod spiraled, Fiore did her best to stabilize it with her weight and with whatever else decided to pop up to help her. Which wasn't much. Thrusters helped with the decent speed, but the pod still hit the desert sand hard. The woman inside tumbled and conked her head against one of the walls hard. Emergency support activated, but Fiore wasn't conscious enough to even send out a distress beacon. The movement of the emergency pod stopped and she laid on the floor with a small amount of blood dripping through her chocolate brown hair. The room spun and then she was out cold.

Few hours later

The assassin had survived again. She wondered how many more times she would be able to do so. It was as if she was a Loth-Cat with all nine lives. If that were the case, she still had roughly 5 lives left. Sitting up, she reached for the partially empty canteen and sipped it. A hand dug around the inside of her armor and pulled out a small red syringe. Experienced, she plunged the needle into her and injected the thick liquid. There was a soft sigh as the voices they were beginning to surface stopped. She was alone again and now it was time to think.

A headache thumped against her temple, but beyond that she was fine. She ran her hands through her slightly matted hair and felt the drying blood. Fiore stuck her tongue out in disgust and then did her best to braid it and weave it back tightly against her head. Short, yet pointed ears were now on full display. It was time to venture out and get some sort of understanding of her surroundings.

The pod took some effort to open, but she came face to face with a vast desert. A hand slapped itself against her forehead as she groaned.

“Of course I couldn't land somewhere, ANYWHERE, near civilization” inhaling deeply, the young Eldorai decided to try and see how far she could go. Gathering a few things and grabbing the last bit of her water, rations and two syringes of medicine - her pack was slung on her back and she headed forward. Looking toward the suns she guessed heading north of them would put her on the right path.

Location: 2 miles due north of the Rimrunner
Equipment: Pistol, her favorite jacket, snark.
Objective: Get to the giant ship thingy.

After she had found and dealt with her father's murderer, Levi had been in dire need of getting off planet. Her mother knew her first instinct would have been to take her father's ship and go wherever the stars took her, so she made the younger chiss a deal. Handing her a pamphlet and a ticket, she spoke of a train that traveled the galaxy often and had frequent stops, the next one being Tatooine. Thankful, Levi took the offer, hugged her mother, and boarded the train. What she didn't expect to happen was to find herself crashing feet first into the sandy planet, with absolutely no idea where she could be on the planet. It took a few minutes, but she was eventually able to pry open the pod door, with much effort. Of course it had to jam up on her. Stepping out of the pod, she looked around, seeing nothing but desert in all directions. "Well... kark." Forcing herself to keep a level head, she tried to think happy thoughts. Hey, she'd always dreamed of adventure, right? Now she was about to finally embark on her first one! Hopefully she didn't die. Doing a quick check of her inventory, she made note of what she had on hand. Blaster, check. Bag of extra ammo, check. She loved her father's blaster, but she would have to get herself a more effective one soon. Leather jacket, check. Blue skin... Yep, still blue. Check. Turning around to face the desert in full, Levi set out in a random direction, hoping she'd either find something, or be found by someone. As she walked, she was able to make out a large, strange looking ship in the distance, though how long it had been there she couldn't tell. Maybe she could find something there to help her out, get her to a spaceport, if those even existed here.

Before the crash

Before the transport crashed it was oddly quiet and peaceful. Drinks and food were served in the crowded transport, it was one of few intergalactic transports that served any form of food or drink. Derin simply liked water. Not Corellian white, nothing else, for now he liked the simple water. Before he could access his own deep thoughts he heard something that sounded like an explosion, he stood up and grabbed onto one of the support railings to brace for an impact, but before he knew it everything turned black.

Present

Derin woke up with a large cut over his hand that he eventually patched up with a piece of his undershirt and a few medical supplies from inside the cabin. The door had dug into the sand so he took his staff and blasted a way through one of the windows. When he eventually crawled outside all he saw was sand, and all he heard was the whistles of the strong Tatooine winds blowing across the ground. Tatooine was one of many planets Derin was familiar with, and the only thing he knew about it was that it was home to vicious Tusken Raiders and thieving Jawas, which he had only ever met one Jawa in his lifetime, so h hadn't judged the group. Anyway, enough thinking had been done. Over the horizon Derin saw what seemed to be an old ship crash that had been abandoned. Considering this ship crash was the only thing in sight besides a few hills made of stone, covered in sand, he started walking, the sand collapsing under his feet with every step only tiring him even more. Although he soon became tired, he conserved his water and moved towards the crash of this ship.

Xiarr drank himself away on board the transport, drinking different types of alcohol from across the galaxy, and he was possibly the drunkest he had ever been in his life. As he drank, something shook the ship, and then he heard the blaster fire and the screaming, and that's where everything got fuzzy. But, somehow in his drunken state, Xiarr had managed to himself in an escape pod, and that's where he awoke.

Xiarr woke up to a near pitch black pod, with only a little bit of sunlight getting in. Xiarr patted his sides, searching for his lightsaber. Thankfully, he found it by his side, he then activated it, cutting a hole through what seemed to be a broken latch. He stood on top of the pod and looked at the endless sands, the lifeless, barren, sands. At first, he thought he was doomed, he only had rations that would last two days at best, that was until he turned around to see what looked like a crashed ship, perhaps overflowing with food and drink. Xiarr's mouth watered at the thought, but he did his best to control his hunger for the time being. He then rummaged threw his rations, only taking the ones that would fit the easiest on his person. If the ship was filled to the brim with rations, then he would have no need for the ones he left behind. If not, then he would walk back to his pod and think of what to do next. With both his blaster and his lightsaber at his side, Xiarr made his way toward the ship.

B'kik

The cutest capitalist thief you will ever see
Location: 3 miles from Republic Freighter
Equipment: Sandcrawler (if my codex submission gets accepted this becomes a WAS) Ion Disrupter and other other dooka

B'kik saw that a space train had missed orbit by a unsafe margin and pieces of it went all over tatooine.
B'kik saw this as an opportunity to collect some good dooka
B'kik heard some of the people who were guarding the space train were ORC Members so it was his job to help any he found and then use that as a way to get them to owe him favours
B'kik check the time to see it was Dyo Gakisewa and dyo Kisewa GST.

Wind howling, bright light to the extent it hurt his eyes, zero gravity. This had been his only recall of the plummet. There was no lead up due to being asleep. Yet for whatever reason his craft was shot out of the skies, and he fell. Head over feet, arms flailing. He had been unconscious by this point, not just sleeping, as the explosion had slammed him into the walls of his room before he was sent out into the air.

Having just come to, Zaiden managed to call up a draft of wind through the Force. The gust was enough to slow his descent until the slam into the ground broke his left arm in a few places, and damaged his knee. It did not break his back instead.

Rising to a sitting position, Zaiden cradled his wounded arm to his chest, while stripping his shirt from his chest. Using his concentration, Force, and free hand, Zaiden managed to make a sling that he hung from his neck. Exhaling slow, he then used his free hand to snap the bones in his wounded arm back to correct place, letting his arm fall into the sling, Zaiden took a deep breath. Tatooine. Home. It had been quite a time since he had stepped on the sands of this god forsaken world.

Glancing around slowly, Zaiden scanned his memories until he recognized where he was. Nearby was Mos Eisley... He could make way for a spaceport... But the Force had dropped him here, this was not simply an act of attack... Like that, the powerhouse that was Penumbra, Master of the Force, brought down to this state, took off like a bullet. Kicking up a cascade of sand that could be seen far into the distance, each step took Zaiden his full stride.

Heading in the opposite direction of the massive city, Zaiden sought out the James Estates.

Ahead of the train like march that Zaiden was achieving, his body fueled through the Force, a large cave could be seen and instinctively Zaiden slowed. Slamming a hold on the ever present energies, he hid within it in plain sight. Even with his specialties in stealth, there was no hiding his position now. A trail of updrafted sand cascading behind himself, plus the mounds of the loose granules would signal his movements if he attempted to do so.

The cave ahead was the very location of a hive of Krayt. The James' had always had to worry about the dragons being within a few hundred miles, so he easily recognized their terf, their home.

Contemplating his chances, Zaiden quickly deduced his best bet was not this method. Every move he made would signal his precise, exact, location so why attempt to remain unseen? No, it was stupid. Dropping the Force Cloak, Zaiden crouched low making sure his broken appendage did not wind up jostled against his knee as he lowered.

The biggest potential threat had to be addressed. The Greater Krayt. There were at least three in the vicinity of the cave ahead where the Lesser Krayt placed their nests. They may be related by genes, but one could easily prey on the others.

Stealth was out... Plus taking into mind the Greater Krayt nearby...

The crashing ship did not go unnoticed by Formorta as she spied the falling peaces through her micro-binoculars. "A ship of that size would most likely have 3 things on-board, parts, loot and possible survivors", though that last one was not up her ally, interacting with people wasn't her strong suit. "Besides they would probably be pick up by that B'kik fellow", though she never met the jawa before she knew he would help the crash survivors out, though maybe or a price depending on who they where.

Grabbing her KiSteer rifle, ELG-3A blaster pistol, micro-binoculars, desert camouflage cloak, sand mask and provision for the possible journey she mounted her speeder and watched the rest of what remained of the ship fall to the surface before she contemplating her next move. Seeing as most of the wreckage landed south of her she started making hast in that direction, "looks like ill have to make a trip around the mountains" eyeing the landscape she knew shed have to make a trip to where the Rimrunner was if she was to get at larger and valuable parts of the ship.

Location: 2 miles east of Hydian Marauder

Before

FN-999 had gotten a leave, which was very rare for a stormtrooper. He had planned to use this time to take a rest on a nice train, and he had found one. However, everything had gone wrong in Tatooine's atmosphere.

After

FN-999 woke up, having been unconscious for about ten minutes. He reached for his blaster by instinct, but found it gone. He remembered, he had left it in the storage room. As well as his riot baton and armor. As he got up, he saw that his train car was in ruins. Somehow, FN-999 had just received some cuts and bruises, but everyone else was dead. He realized the car he was in was the one in front of the storage car. Rising upward, he slowly walked past dead bodies and eventually found a door, ripped off its hinges. He entered, finding a torn storage car.

FN-999 searched the room multiple times, before finally finding what he needed. His full suit of armor, blaster, riot baton, and his holotransmitter. However, it was broken and would need repairs. So that his superiors never knew what had happened when the leave was over, he took all his gear. He could blame the transmitter on glitching, but a trooper would need a proper explanation for losing their armor and weapons. The white armor suit would reflect light easier, and was heat-resistant. Carefully applying his suit so he wouldn't step on any broken objects, FN-999 attached his riot baton diagonally to his back, grabbed his blaster, put his holotransmitter in his utility belt, and left the storage room.

Heading south towards the Hydian Marauder Fomrota saw the first signs of the wreckage an slowed down her speeder as she approached it, looking through her micro-binoculars and inspected the crash site for this section of the ship. Recognizing that is was a storage part of some kind she came closer her speeder making a powering down sound and she slowly dismounted. Un-holstering her ELG-3A blaster pistol pistol she slowly walked towards the crash site unaware of if there where any survivors present. Unknown to her a certain first order storm-trooper had survived that crash.
