Location : Currently Unnamed Planet, Near Kaeshana, Tingel Arm | Noah Corek Noah Corek |

A roar of construction equipment echoed through the mountains, breaking apart the overall quiet on the temperate planet. Buildings dotted the landscape, half finished as workers of varying species traversed over scaffolding and duracrete forms. Work on a city-from-scratch was in full swing, an attempt to build a civilization from nearly nothing. It was the most ambitious project Salacia had taken on yet - permanent headquarters and their own planet. Currently, Celesta Station above Tabaqui housed their headquarters but expansion loomed once again. Space stations weren't going to cut it long term. For regional operations, sure but for the entire company? They were already bursting at the seams.

Logistical challenges abounded. One of the biggest beyond materials was security. Issues had the potential to ruin the entire plan ; war, pirates, terrorism, looting. Judah wasn't very concerned about the worker population causing issues but the galaxy at large. Ores and salvage had the potential to be valuable, depending on what was being refined at any given point in time. Being defenseless was unwise, they would be sitting ducks for any criminal enterprise with a large enough gang.

Which is why he called in Noah Corek.

Judah had originally considered Firemane but after learning of horrible working conditions and the in-fighting, even the idea of poaching their best security personnel seemed unwise. Both for long term stability and for public relations - Salacia had a reputation to uphold after all. Being in bed with despots wasn't a way to win over quality contracts or long term success. Corek seemed to have a level head ; a family man who was interested in expanding his business. They both could relate on that front.

He waited at a temporary landing pad for Corek to arrive. Judah had to send the coordinates via encrypted message. He didn't quite want to reveal the project just yet - beyond Salacia execs, only three people knew of the plan to expand on the uninhabited planet. Corek was trustworthy enough to allow in early in the process, even if the man didn't want to pick up a security contract with his company.

Without many options, Judah hoped he would.

Noah had first met Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell during his time with the Outer Rim Coalition many years ago, both of their companies having had a financial interest in the government, Noah for the weapons, armor and vehicles the Coalition purchased and Judah for...well Noah never truly understood what Judah had been but he had assumed both then and now that it had something to do with his mining operations, possibly supplying the Coalition with raw materials for various construction projects.

It has been somewhat of a surprise when Judah had contacted him about a possible security contract that he was interest in procuring. Noah's interest had been piqued, what did the CEO of a mining and salvage company want with him, the CEO of both a arms manufacturing company and private military company. Perhaps there was a rather difficult salvage claim that needed guarding or maybe bandits had taken control of one of their mining operations.

These thoughts passed through the forefront of his mind as his shuttle made its landing on the makeshift landing pad that he had been sent. The shuttle set down at the pad and Noah quickly powered down the engines, while he was no good pilot he still preferred pilot most ships he was on himself if it was just him. Making sure everything was secure and powered down he left the cockpit and made his way to the boarding ramp, walking down it with a smile at Judah.

"Judah! Been awhile buddy. How's the family?"

Judah waited until the other man was safely down the ramp before greeting him with a firm handshake. It appeared Corek was alone - a small feat since he had heard the man had a small army of children. Yet he wouldn't have minded if one had tagged along, how many did Makai tag along to? Granted it had been out of sheer desperation as a single father, but that was here nor there.

"Everyone is good, can't complain."

Everyone being himself and Makai of course. If he was being perfectly honest, life had been looking 'up' for him in the last several months. Business was good, practically booming due to strife. Makai seemed to be leveling out and finding his footing. He had encountered a lovely Togruta that completely flipped his life upside down for the better. It was as if all his hard work was finally paying off in more tangible ways.

"How about you? Hows the wives? Kids? I know your eldest is about the same age as Makai. Surprised he's not tagging along for the experience."

They were meandering slowly towards the construction site, catching up before really getting down to business.

Noah's smile widened as he reached the bottom of the ramp and clasped hands with Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell and shaking it with a good amount of gusto after seeing the man after so many years. He was indeed alone, having opted to leave his children at home, though 'at home' was a relative term considering that more than a few of them were currently wandering the galaxy, his own son Junior having recently sent him a note about how he had met with Judah's soon at a casino.

"Good, good, glad to hear it. Junior told me that he and Makai met up a little while ago...can't say I'm glad to hear what they got up to."

Just as Judah's business was booming due to the current galactic strife so was Noah's. For the Hekler'Kok side of it there were dozens of independent planets and systems that wanted and needed weapons to help defend themselves from the various hostile factions that vied for expansion. For the Legion side there were many governments that needed to plug holes in the defense capabilities whether that be for training, security or other various duties a PMC could take care of for them.

Noah followed Judah to the construction site and gave a nod at Judah's words about his son. "Yeah they are pretty close to each other in age. For where exactly he is...I'm not exactly sure. He's wandering the galaxy right, 'finding himself' I guess would be the proper term for it."

"Apologies about that. My son has a penchant for being a dumbass, apparently he still thinks his fraternity days are in full swing. Didn't need to drag your boy into it."

By all accounts the two had been caught in some heist in a high roller lounge. Judah had given quite the disapproving talk and made sure Makai wouldn't have any free time in the coming months ahead. It was apparent that having free time just lead to trouble - look at the situation he got himself into on Arkas. Judah was ensuring from here on out his son's schedule was packed to the brim.

"Best of luck to him, hopefully he figures it out before its too late."

Corek had a lot of kids. It wouldn't surprise Judah that at least one of them would be interested in taking over the mantle of the business. Makai had started learning early - no choice really, due to Judah's status as a single father. Perhaps Corek was trying to let his kids have more of a childhood, which was admirable.

"I didn't call you all this way to talk about the difficulties of having young twenty-somethings as children though. I need your assistance."

Judah paused on the edge of the construction site. They were a good distance away to where they could watch progress but not so close the noise of work would be overwhelming.

"This planet will be turning into Salacia's headquarters, along with other operations. We're facing a huge problem I hope you have a solution to....I need you to identify a Director of Security, recruit one, then I need you and that Director to train how many personnel you think are needed to keep a planet this size safe."

"Additionally, I would need a training system codified to run to all security, as we will be expanding their numbers on various sites."

Judah paused to let it sink in.

"I'm aware I am asking a lot from you. I'm also willing to give generously. Compensation would include a credit package, but a custom built outpost for yourself on planet and a home if you so desire. I'm also open to other suggestions ; space on my stations, mineral rights, custom facilities for yourself elsewhere..."

"Apologies about that. My son has a penchant for being a dumbass, apparently he still thinks his fraternity days are in full swing. Didn't need to drag your boy into it."

Noah snorted with a smirk on his face and shook his head to somewhat dismiss Judah's apology. "No need to apologize, from what Junior said to me they were both pretty equal at fault for what happened in the casino. Also Junior wasn't in a fraternity and acts pretty similar in those situations so I'm pretty sure it's a teenager/young adult thing."

Junior had talked to his own father about what had happened in the casino at length, not face to face but in a message sent over the holonet as according to him he wasn't in area that had good reception. This had caused Noah to remember when he had used excuses similar to that with his mother when he was young and in the army to avoid her seeing how haggard or injured he was. He had internalized this but decided not to share it with Junior...or his wives for that matter.

"Best of luck to him, hopefully he figures it out before its too late."

He gave a shrug when 'figuring it out' was brought up. "I'm not worried, he's got a good head on his shoulders and good teaching, admittedly they are both more from his mothers than me but that's probably a good thing."

"I didn't call you all this way to talk about the difficulties of having young twenty-somethings as children though. I need your assistance."

Noah had figured this was the case but had enjoyed the conversation nonetheless as he was able to get another parents view at their own kids life. He stopped with his companion at the edge of the construction and listened to the proposal he gave and the incentives that were offered. The credits were an obvious choice, nothing better than cold hard cash but the others definitely was not anything to balk at.

He put his hands on a nearby safety railing and made a production of thinking for a little bit before pushing himself off of the railing and turning to look at Judah. "I'm down, I've already got a few candidates floating around my head for the director spot. Former military and contractors for the most part with a few ex-law enforcement."

"Additionally, I would need a training system codified to run to all security, as we will be expanding their numbers on various sites."

That line of thinking made sense, with an increased the activity of Salacia it would increase the risk of 'altercations' with less savory elements and expanding security would help curtail any possible negative outcomes. "As for the other incentives you mentioned, I've been looking to build a large scale training facility for the Legion and having a second home wouldn't be a bad idea. Perhaps some stock in Salacia as well? Would be bad form to help a company without having skin in the game as well."

Judah nodded, thankful the short list didn't include any Mandos. He had nothing against the group, but they were currently waging a war in the 'verse and if he wanted to be seen as more neutral a candidate would have to reflect that. Didn't need the company targeted unnecessarily, especially if they were to poke around the Core Worlds for more salvage.

"Thats fair, I'd like to know who, send 'em over once we're done here."

"The home and facility is doable. As for stock in Salacia, its a private company. I'm sole owner as I do not wish to be beholden to stockholders. However, I completely understand where you're coming from. How about a cut of mining profits from the Tingel Arm? Say, eight percent for the next ten years. That's on top of what I offered."

"You'd be foolish to pass it up, the mining side of the business is heating up."
