Faction We are under attack

It's time for the Galactic Senate to stop pandering. We need real bills and real actions. This should be fairly uncontroversial, but who knows.

Sen. Trvgye Hakon hovers onto the senate floor for the first time. The magnitude of this moment is not lost on him, but his time on Wroona led to him learning not to pay attention to semantics.

"I call for the condemnation of the SIth," he said, as soon as the chancellor gave him the floor. He pauses to let such a severe statement rest. That kind of statement might lead to him being gaveled down at any moment. Apparently, in this kind of galaxy—one devoid of truth and justice—that is a bold statement.

"The Sith have attacked our factories. They have invaded our valuable resource spaces and underminded the safety and stability of our galaxy. It is imperative that we strike back and let the galaxy know that we will not tolerate, adhere to or understand this erratic behavior under any circumstance. The High Republic is better than this and we will not sit idly by while our allies and compatriots fall into ruin."

"It is past time that this body holds the Sith accountable,"
he finished.

For the average person, this is a simple resolution. For Hakon, this screams a matter of life or death. If this gets passed, he's slowly on his way to becoming one of the senate elite, if it doesn't, his best bet is building a home on the north side of Wroona and never worrying about galactic politics again.

OOC: This is open to all THR Political Officials, plus really anybody in THR or THR-adjacent groups, as long as they have a legitimate interest in the body

Elian was only a Junior senatorial Aide at this current juncture. But still he was curious and has his questions. Questions that weren't going to remain in the darkness for long. He took a deep breath, casually looking over to where his arm no longer existed.

Condemation of the sith. It carried much weight, and there was so much more that needed to be said.

"What are you proposing?" Elian inquired easily enough. Just a straight honest question.

War?

Katarine hated politics. She always had, so finding her as an observer in the Senate chambers was an odd event. Yet here she stood, dressed in her Jedi attire, her deep green eyes scanning the gathered politicians.

Her time on Naboo had been limited lately due to her building a school just outside the Midrim. That project was a personal one, but one she was considering brining under the authority of the Jedi Order. She knew they had other enclaves, but the politics worried her. Kat hadn’t been around long enough to truly know how The High Republic operated. She knew that mixing the Jedi with politics had once ended the entire Jedi Order, and it was something that made her chest tighter to think of.

So today she watched, observed, and tried to truly understand how this democracy worked.

Verity sat in her pod, leaning forward slightly and resting her chin against her fist. Her glacial blue eyes watched Tryvge Hakon Tryvge Hakon with a mild interest. It was about time that someone else started taking the Sith seriously in this body. Everyone seemed so interested in covering their own backs, amassing their own power, that they seemed to miss the forest for the trees.

The forest, of course, being the continued existence of the High Republic. The trees, therefore, being petty squabbles over jurisdiction, influence, power blocs, et cetera.

Verity wasn't sure exactly what the Senator was proposing, so she kept her eye on the discussion and sent a message to Elian Abrantes Elian Abrantes . :// V.STUYVERIS.1138: Excellent taking the initiative. Let me know what he says. V.

Heir to the Emperor, Senator of Denon
The session had been something she wasn't expecting but when the news came she had rushed from Denon. Going towards her office and then coming out of her estate. THe speeder over had been enjoyable as she arrived to the session and took it all in. The white leggings looking like they were poured on with her repulsor anklets to be barefoot. She slipped into her pod and the droid who was there recording for her gave her a nod and the minutes aas it were. She sadly hadn't heard this senator before but she really only paid attention and interacted with a few as they continued to improve and work on Denon now that the expo was over. The Fandor a welcomed addition to the Denon security forces. "Interesting." She said it while sitting there and her long coat was on before she breathed in and then outwards settling in to listen to the plan.

Lex

Nicotine Slave
A sip of water. Two fingers placing themselves on each lip out of habit. A cough, a clearing of his throat, and a sigh.

It was fascinating that this seemed to be something that had to be brought up at all. The Sith were a destructive force no matter which way you looked at it. Smuggled photos from beyond the black wall, and open news of the Covenant's tyranny was hard to just ignore when you lived on the border between freedom and theocratic fascism.

"Nubia seconds this proposition." Lex called out to the crowd and hit the green button to approve to prove just how willing he was. "To have the Dark Lord of the Sith sit in the streets of Naboo, sipping tea with his friends as if he isn't the most vile being in the galaxy is an insult to every individual within our borders who are worried their homes might be the next to burn under in his gaze."

"Seeing as we're trying to be 'secular', I propose our first step is to brand the creature itself as the criminal it is. Not for being a Sith but for the unmitigated damage it has caused the people of this galaxy for nearly a century now."
