Wayward Children get Punished

79 ABY

Life was an amazing thing. One minute, she was taking insults from her grandmother on a daily basis and then the next she was killing people at the command of the Black Sun and then a minute after that, she was taking the lessons of her grandmother to heart and being faithful to the Empire, serving its leaders. And for that brief moment, Lenavina believed this was exactly where she had to be. Expect, life had other plans for her. Matthew was that other plan. Meeting him and his odd ways opened her eyes to the galaxy, made her rethink a great many things.

And she was slowly losing her father in what she was brainwashed into believing. She was, simply put, falling in love. And while she was doing just that, her sisters were building their own lives. Lena didn't get to spend time with them as much as she wanted but she kept tabs on them, making sure they were always alright. Her sister Hevana, seemed to be changing rapidly. One minute she had been engaged, the next minute she was chasing women and appearing to have a good life. Lenavina didn't argue, it was her life. Open minded like their mother, all she wanted was for both Hevana and Tesla to be happy.

She didn't know though. There was no way she could know. While she kept tabs on her sisters, another person was keeping tabs on all three. Said person wasn't even supposed to know her sisters existed. Her mother had made her swear and she kept her promise. How she had found out, nobody would really know but somehow, grandmother always knew everything. She simply did.

That knowledge was what would set certain motions in action. One day, she would run into Naha'va unexpetadly showed up at her doorstep. It seemed as if it was no more than a social visit but soon enough, she began to feel pressure around her neck, her throat tightened with the Force more and more before she finally lost her consciousness.

Once awaken again, Lenavina found herself chained and hanging in the air over a large hole. Piercing blue gaze scanned through the facility she was in quickly but she couldn't recognize where she was. She could however recognize the unconscious form of her sister Hevana. "I hope you've had a pleasant nap, Lena'ha," the voice of her grandmother made her turn. "Grandmother? What's going on? Where are we? Why am I chained? What's' He--" The endless questions rolled off her tongue before Naha'va rose her hand. "Enough. Before you continue, you and your sister have been a great disappointment to me. Why I kept your mother, I still wonder. But as long as you serve your purpose and remain loyal to the Empire, then I have no quals with you breathing. However, what has been happening lately is frankly a great annoyance. And it ends now." Naha'va was not forgiving. Nor did she tolerate them straying from the path she chose for them. Both powerless in the Force, they were less then worthy of her attention but somehow, they had been left alone until now.

She of course knew far to well just what was her grandmother capable of. So while her first instinct was to swear and tell her to go to hell, she did not. Lena remembered her training well, knew little could help her out of this situation. Naha'va knew her weakness well enough, knew exactly how to tie her up to ensure she wouldn't escape. And there was another issue that troubled her. Hevana. There was no reason to keep her here. "I understand, grandmother. What do you plan on doing to us?" Talking calming when she wanted to kick and scream seemed like a logical progression.

But Naha'va chuckled. "Wayward children need to be taught a lesson. They have to be punished to learn. Since everything else has failed if this does not work, I'm just going to have to kill you." There was little emotions in the woman's voice. And the concept of being a mother or hurting her family was lost to her. To Naha'va, they were children of the Empire and they were to do nothing else. Lena didn't speak though, continuing to watch the woman closely, waiting to hear the answer to her question a little longer. "Ahh, you're waiting. Patience. I have taught you well after all. Shame you did not keep to the other lessons, Lena'ha. Fine, I will tell you. I am going to freeze you for a hundred and fifty years. And when you awake, all that you love will be gone. Perhaps after your long sleep you will have taught your decisions over, both of you. And Tesla, when I catch up with her." She gestured to the empty chamber and empty chains above it. They were meant for Tesla. Lena's eyes widen in shock. Frozen for a hundred and fifty years, all three of them. She thought of her sisters first, not wanting them to go through this. She thought of Matthew next, suddenly realizing she would never see him again. It all pained her. The cold cool she worked so hard on was slowly fading.

"Grandmother, no. Please. Hevana and Tesla haven't done anything. They're loyal to the Empire. Just like you want us to. Please, don't do this to my sisters. Please." But all her pleading got her was more chuckling. "All Wayward children must be punished. We shall talk in a hundred and fifty years, child." That was the end of their conversation. Naha'va wasn't about to debate what each did wrong. In her mind, the list was endless.

Realizing this was actually happening, the chains slowly beginning to lower both her and Hevana in, Lenavina started moving, attempting to kick the air with her feet, attempting to move her hands. It was pointless but she refused to give up. There were mere moment though left for her to do it before she was finally lowered into the chamber, the cold fumes filling her. She closed her eyes, unable to take the pressure and soon felt like she was losing herself, before there was nothing.

Naha'va continued to watch the monitors closely, watching its progress. All the while she kept glancing at the other monitors as well. The facility had been quiet for a long time and it's location not so popular but Naha'va never left anything to chance. Once the computer told her the process was done for both of the girls, she typed in the order to lift the carbonate block, laying them down on the floor and moved to check their statistics. Their body functions seemed alright. "Sleep, my children. Your sister will be joining you soon." And with those last words to the empty room, she left the facility. Having previously removed technological items the girls possessed and leaving them on the table, Naha'va didn't spent too much time with them, instead they would be waiting for the girls once the awoke. Now, she had another girl to hunt down and send on a long sleep.

“Damnit, Lena pickup”

Matthew or Electrobe shook his comlink a few times; he hadn’t been able to get a hold of her for some time now. Something told him that something was not right with her and he threw the phone onto the ground. Swinging his leg over his speeder he headed towards the woman’s last location or where he would have figured she would have gone. The speeder worked its way through the streets of the planet, his heart raced and he could feel like something was very wrong.

The speeder pulled up to where he had picked up a signal from her communicator, looking up he had a feeling this was the place she was being held or she could just be ignoring him. Shaking his head, Matthew wouldn’t take that latter excuse for anything. Why would she ignore him? He gave everything up for her; he wanted to be with her more than just one night like his usual plans. As he walked up a car pulled out of the place and drove off, he caught a glimpse of the woman and she had a horrid look on her face. Frowning, he figured his gut was right – there was nothing good happening here. Crawling through one of the windows he made his way towards his gut feeling. Every step he took he drew closer and his stomach twisted even tighter.

“Lena?”

He turned the corner and found his way towards the chamber where Lena and her sister were held frozen in carbonate. Running in he looked up at the solid figure his hand running along the solid carbonate. For the first time the man felt his eyes water. The last time he had cried was when he was taken from his mother, he never felt strong enough for anyone to ever have cried.

“Oh god Lena! Lena! I was too fucking late, damnit!”

In frustration he punched a nearby monitor and felt the blood gush from his hand, his chest hurt he didn’t know how to unfreeze her, he didn’t know what he could do. Looking over, he saw that there was an open chamber and he looked back towards Lena. This was his chance; he could freeze himself along with her. There was nothing left in this galaxy for him; Lena had become everything to him. Setting his helmet down next to the console he typed in a few codes, He was able to get into it so that it would set to freeze him along with her. The time setting for unfreezing was copied over to the other chamber; he climbed in and rested back getting as comfortable as he could. Looking over at Lena, he pushed the button to start the process.

“I love you Lenavina Martin, see you soon.”

Present day 800 years later

“GAAHAHAHAOH WHY CAN’T I SEE”

Matthew fell to his knees as he fell out of the carbonate cell. His hands gripped at the warped floor as he patted around wondering why he couldn’t move or anything. He also had this really strange sensation to pee. Once his vision came too he blinked suddenly remember what he had done. Looking up, he saw Lena and her sister still frozen – his helmet of course rusted and was without charge. Frowning, he regained some of his movement and stood up quickly. His hair standing up wet from the carbonate, his hands quickly moved over the console. The hacker had figured out how to unfreeze them while he was frozen, it had happened in a dream and he typed quickly into the console. The process began and he waited. He had waited what it seemed like forever to see her. Moving closer her waited for the carbonate to unfreeze Lena; he didn’t want her to fall like he did so he waited. Her sister on the other hand….he well……..forgot she was there…

Time just passed without Lenavina aware of any of it. There were times when she would dream, bits and pieces. Brief, momentary, frozen in time just like her body was. Aware of nothing, the galaxy changed without the two Martin females aware of it. Perhaps if Lena was aware of time, she would find out that Naha'va later returned to Kamino and re-cloned herself but also ensure that her own clone came to life. Perhaps she would know that clone lived a fullfiling life, with love and children, grew to old age and passed away - complete. Perhaps she would know how many bodies Naha'va would have and that perhaps, just perhaps, she was still out there. Or perhaps that she too had died out in the plague that surged through the galaxy. But she knew none of it. For time had still still for Lenavina Mar, eight hundred long years had passed while she slept.

Present day

Life began to return to her, slowly, so slowly. She heart her heart begin to beat first and felt herself move, an action that remained eight hundred years ago, her hands twitching weakly after eight hundred long years. She inhaled deep, the action seemed so natural to her but yet so foreign. Eyelids slowly fluttered but there was nothing but darkness to see. Her senses took time to return, her entire body weak from laying for so long.

And how long had it been? A hundred and fifty years? It was what Naha'va had said, there was no reason to believe otherwise.

When her sense of touch returned, she realized she was being held by someone. "No," the female muttered suddenly, thinking of Naha'va first. After all, grandmother had promised to see her when she awoke. But the body, the shape of it, the warm feeling... slowly her fingertips, still shaking, moved slightly. Her entire body, set to defense a second ago began to relax without her realizing it first. Her mind was still adjusting and her eyes still couldn't see but before she could realized, the word came out shaky: "Matt...hew..."

Matthew watched as life returned to her, he was worried that she had perished in the carbonate. It was known for things to go terrible wrong in those things and if she had gone – he wouldn’t know what to do with himself. At first she said no, which worried him a bit though he held onto her hoping that with more time she’d realize it was him. Suddenly he heard her whisper his name and her hand moved a little. Wondering if it would help, he reached down and grasped her hand tightly and then ran her fingertips against his prickled face.

Probably should have shaved before jumping into that thing…oh well!

“Lena, you’re okay. It’s me…Its Matthew, I’m here.”

Overjoyed he pulled her fragile body tightly against his. He had dreamed of this moment, to hold her once more time for the entire time they were asleep. Closing his blue eyes, he kept her close to him for a few more moments. If he could he would hold her like this till time ended, but knowing that it was a good idea to probably get the hell out of here he released her and pulled her away from him.

“Hey beautiful, you feeling okay?”

Her hand was suddenly out of her control, though it was hardly in control to begin with, and she felt his face. Her fingers slowly traced over Matthew's cheecks, forehead, nose, beard and lips. This wasn't the first time she'd done it, feeling his face under her fingertips. Though she had had her eyes open before. They may have been open now but Lena still couldn't see.

She heard his voice, telling her she was okay, telling her his name. He was here. "H...ow?" Lenavina just whispered. She had been frozen, that much she was aware of. And Naha'va spoke of a century and a half. Yet he was here. She didn't understand.

Matthew suddenly became very fair. "No," she muttered and attempted to move closer to him. The female didn't want to be too far from him right now. She couldn't. Frozen for so long, he seemed to be the only one warm enough to keep her from freezing. How was she feeling? Words couldn't really be put to describe how she felt so instead she just said: "I feel like... I've been frozen ... for a ... hundred and ... fifty years." Speech was slowly starting to last longer for her, her strength pacing its return. It almost felt like a whole sentence in her ears.

It took her a bit to remember though, all that she had to and her head turned slowly away from Matthew. She couldn't see though. "Hevana? Tesla? Where are they?" Hevana she had seen next to her, unconscious and Tesla had been the one Naha'va went to get next. She expected them both to be at her side. She needed to know her sisters were safe.

Hevana Martin

Hair-triggered Super Soldier
The Past

It had been a long day of combat drills and Hevana was looking forward to going home. Her unit was considered the best of the best when it came to anti-Jedi tactics, and to be the best required lots of practise. Which was why she had just spent the past sixteen hours with her unit doing just that. To say Hevana was tired was a fairly severe understatement. Nights like this she wanted nothing more than to curl up with one of her pets and pass out.

"So much wasted potential. Spent doing menial labor and on frivolous pursuits of pleasure. Perhaps when you awaken you will be better behaved."

As the mysterious, yet oddly familiar voice, spoke she turned. Unfortunately she did not get the chance to speak as an invisible grip closed around her throat and lifted her into her air. The woman looked as eerily familiar as she sounded, but already the lack of oxygen was beginning to affect her. All of her training made useless, because her equipment was back on base. Blackness was creeping into the corners of her vision, and she wondered what the woman had meant. Sadly, it seemed like she would never find out. as the darkness took over

Present

The first thing Hevana recalled was the feeling of colliding with the ground as she fell from the carbonite. Moving onto her back, she tried to gasp for the air that had been knocked out of her. The darkness was still there, and she could not see anything. She could hear something though, and it sounded like voices. She had no idea what was going on, and she was scared. "Hello?" she called meekly.

Just then, she heard Hevana's voice, causing her to turn her head slightly to the side, away from Matthew. She still couldn't see but the sound told her somewhat of where her sister was. "Hevana?" Lenavina called out, her hand reached out into, what was darkness for her, meeting only the empty air.

"Matthew," she then turned back, unable to find her. "Take me to my sister." She knew no other way, her sister shouldn't have been here at all. Naha'va had no right to harm her or Tesla, in her eyes. She was different, a clone of their mother, raised under direct influence of the vile woman but her sisters were born naturally, meant to be free from all the trouble that came with knowing their grandmother. She and her mother had hoped the woman didn't even know about them but they had sadly been wrong. Now, all she could do was be with her sister.

Matthew looked over at Hevana who seemed to finally wake up also. The man gave Lena a boyish smile as he had been consumed with taking care of her instead of her sister also. Lifting her up, cradled her tightly to his body. Once he made it to Hevana, he set Lena down and looked at the woman. He went to help Hevana, but he remembered mildly rumors of Hevana and her dislike of men. Frowning, he knew he needed to help though so shifting over he knelt down and hooked his arms under her to try and drag her towards Lena.

“Common now upsee daisy!”

The man waited for the women to interact. He reached over and placed Lena’s hand on her sister’s so that she knew that she was near her. Smiling, he felt good about what he had done. Looking around though, he wondered if anyone was going to come through the doors now that they were awake. Someone had to have been keeping an eye on the place since they were frozen.
