DESCRIPTION
The 404 model waste management landspeeder was a garbage hauler used by Squib and other waste disposal organizations around 870 ABY. It was a squat, wide-bodied landspeeder with an enclosed canopy for housing one or two sanitation engineers, attached to a large, rectangular cargo area. The sides of the cargo area could act as a garbage compactor, creating additional space for further collection. When fully loaded, the collected waste could then be processed through a mass recycling unit for sorting prior to off-loading. This allowed the waste management entity operating the vehicle to maximize the potential profit by diverting those materials which could be recycled for further use. Due to the weight of the vehicle when fully loaded, the engines were a commercial entry that was more powerful than found on ordinary landspeeders. As a result, the 404 model boasted an impressive top speed, but suffered from both poor acceleration and a wide turn radius.
