Private War Room - Operation Shadowhand

Operation Shadowhand

FINAL DAWN
O'REEN, UNKNOWN REGIONS

Operation Shadowhand. That was the code name of a major military operation undertaken by the elements of the First Galactic Empire under the reborn Emperor Palpatine also known as the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious, in the aftermath of the Thrawn Campaign, launched with the intent of retaking control of the galaxy and claim dominion over the Galactic Empire once more. It was an ingenious strategy including a large amount of major military assets concentrated in the Deep Core with a Massive Naval Armada at it's Core. When executed, massive naval task forces would emerge from the Unknown Regions and would fan out in waves from the Deep Core conquering nearby worlds in a massive display of shock-and-awe. Now, nearly eight centuries after the initial execution of the Shadow Hand Strategy, the Brotherhood of the Maw under Darth Mori, her Shadow Hand Darth Ptolomis and the Wrath of the Maw, Kyrel Ren sought to execute it's own Shadow Hand Campaign against the Galactic Alliance in an attempt to salvage it's Campaign in the Core Worlds and turn the tides of the war, starting with a major offensive against Metellos.

When Marlon Sularen saw the plans for Operation Shadow Hand he immediately recognized it's many flaws, flaws in which could be easily exploited by the Galactic Alliance and would make carrying out such an Operation nearly unfeasible. Just like Jedha, Adrathorpe and Tython, where the Maw suffered major defeats at the hands of it's many foes, Sularen feared that Metellos would be another repetition of such previous battles, well-aware that Mori and her minions might lead the Maw into yet another disaster. As such, the High Regent summoned various Final Dawn Military Officers to begin drawing plans for the upcoming Battle at Metellos and even making adjustments to the Mori's planned Campaign in order to avoid yet another disaster. Sularen had no intention of leading the Final Dawn into yet another costly battle, he could not allow it. He would ensure the Maw's Shadow Hand Operation would succeed and ensure that the Core Campaign would be salvaged, one way or another, whether the rest of the Maw agreed with his tactics or not.

Already seated in his chair within the notorious War Room within the Sanctum of
Fort Maximus on O'reen, Sularen waited for the arrival of those he had summoned hoping that those who would arrive would be sufficient for his plans. He would need all the capable individuals he could get as ensuring Operation Shadow Hand's Success was critical in maintaining the Final Dawn's hold in the Core Corridor, the only alternative was the loss of vital Core Worlds such as Xa Fel, Batorine and Foerost, currently occupied by the Final Dawn and a possible Alliance Invasion of the Maw proper. The mere thought of such thing unsettled Sularen greatly, as the Fortress World of O'reen in which he had made into his seat of power would become one of the first major targets of such a campaign and he did not want to lose yet another world at the hands of his hated foes in the Galactic Alliance. Hopefully through his efforts, the Final Dawn could be spared of such a fate, but first the High Regent would need to ensure that his subordinates were up to the task. Regardless this would not be an easy thing to carry out, but Sularen was not one to give up so easy, after all it was one of his well-known traits. He was a man of commitment, dedication and sheer will and would do everything in his power to emerge victorious, and he would emerge victorious regardless of the odds that were stacked against him.

The Final Dawn were an interesting counterpoint within the Brotherhood of the Maw. Where a vast majority of the Brotherhoods military power on the ground came in the form of tribal savages, warriors barely capable of grasping tactics beyond a frontal charge Nemris thought, the Final Dawn were an experienced and professional force. They commanded some of the most powerful vessels and assets within the Brotherhoods military arsenal, and their continued support of the war effort had been instrumental in leveling the playing field against the enemies of the Brotherhood. They were arrogant, and like much of the Maw they seemed to overstretch themselves, but these were minor flaws.

Their arrogance was not entirely without reason.

When Darth Nemris had heard of the gathering underway on O'reen, his curiosity had gotten the better of him. The planned operation against the Galactic Alliance, Operation Shadowhand, was a strategy even an inexperienced commander like Nemris could tell posed a high risk, high reward trade off. He was not the grand strategist others in the Maw were, or claimed to be, but Nemris would learn. Traveling to O'reen, he intended to observe the Final Dawn war planning, see how they approached the problems inherent in the current war plans, and learn. Perhaps he would make connections while he was there, though he placed little priority in this.

He was admitted to the command room, under duress on the guards part, but they could not openly challenge a member of the New Sith Order. Not if they wished to continue their life of servitude. He was one of the first to arrive, and the signature black cloak and robes of the Sith set him apart from the military officers in the chamber. The silver mask just visible beneath the hood of his cloak looked around the room, taking in all those present with unwavering, yellow eyes. His eyes rested on Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen for several moments before Nemris finally spoke, cold, emotionless words in greeting to the leader of this gathering.

"High Regent..."

It was not offered, and he was almost certain it would be seen poorly, but Nemris approached the table dominating the center of the room. Without any visible motion, Nemris exerted his will through the Force and pulled one of the chairs out. He sat down, resting a single arm on the table. The silver gauntlet he wore over his hand, each finger ending in a talon, began to drum slowly on the table as Nemris waited for the event to begin.

“Don’t you know who my relatives are?”
Brodan now wore a uniform of the Final Dawn. It felt good to at least be wearing something other than a servant’s garb, a prisoners smock, or cheap civillian clothes once again. On one hand, his uniform did not sport a rank plaque on his chest, but on the other, it was a still uniform all the same.

Brodan was determined to acquire his plaque soon. He would meet the terms of his probationary employment deal with Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen , show him what he was truly capable of, and finally, once and for all, earn a commission within the Final Dawn navy. He needed it. He needed the power to lay waste to those who had humiliated him…

Formally, crisply, Brodan saluted Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen and said, “Permission to attend, sir?!”

Brodan had been invited, of course, but he had spent the last few weeks observing Final Dawn protocols and he had wanted to show off a little. Realistically, it was probably not expected of him to go this far on ceremony, but Brodan hadn’t seen the High Regent since his meeting a few weeks ago. Brodan’s stance, salute, uniform and vocal inflections were perfectly clipped to Final Dawn military disciplinary standards after weeks of practice. It wasn’t a far stretch from Elysium naval discipline, but there were subtle differences, and Brodan had been determined to get it right. He hoped Sularen noticed…

Vaun sat far to the High Regents left, having already been on O'reen he had not needed to travel great distances. He was a logistics advisor to the summit and had the purpose of making sure whatever motion came about from today's meeting wouldn't break the back of the Dawn's logistics network.

He was slumped back in his chair, smirking and watched as each individual came into the room, his red gaze following them until they sat down. He was one of the newest additions to the Final Dawns upper echelons yet the way he sat appeared as if he knew everyone in the room on a first name basis, whether it was hubris or confidence was hard to tell.

The Chiss payed special notice to their Sith visitor he leaned slightly forward, the slight smirk still stretched across his face he spoke. "Curious. Nosey today are we?" he said to Darth Nemris before leaning back into his relaxed position. It was definitely hubris. An air of narcissism surrounded the Chiss and he seemed to revel in it.

FINAL DAWN
O'REEN, UNKNOWN REGIONS

Sularen watched as the first individuals began to enter the war room and take their seats around the round table, ready to begin the summit. The First to arrive was a mysterious member of the New Sith Order known as Darth Nemris. Sularen knew little of this Sith Lord other then the fact that he was a former member of the New Jedi Order and was from some Core World. The High Regent was also oblivious to the intentions of Nemris and whether he was here to actively partake in the summit or simply there to observe was anyone's guess. As he entered the War room, Nemris would greet Sularen in a cold and emotionless tone only uttering the words "High Regent..." before using the force to pull back one of the chairs and take his seat. Sularen would take note of Nemris presence in this meeting, thinking that maybe he could become a useful ally like Darth Maestus.

The next person to arrive was Brodan Dobson, a young and energetic aristocratic man who hailed from the Outer Rim from the now disgraced Dobson Familly. Sularen had recently recruited him as part of his long-term plans with the young man rapidly pledging himself to the High Regent and the Final Dawn once Sularen promised him revenge against the Elysium Empire. Dobson would get his revenge in time, after all Sularen was a man of his word, even if others ironically saw him as a traitor and a backstabber, even though they had done the same things beforehand. Nevertheless Sularen smiled and gave a response to Brodan's request in a calm and relax tone. "Ah, Commander Dobson, i'm glad you could make it in time. Please take a seat, we have much to discuss" the High Regent said motioning to one of the many chairs around the circular-shaped table.

After Nemris and Dobson came Himm'vaun'merek also known as Vaun, one of many Chiss whom had either served under or alongside Marlon Sularen. Despite the Maw's Destruction of Csilla, Sularen had a great deal of respect for the Chiss having worked with many Chiss before hand such as Shran, Vel'alari and Tharn. Sularen was also fortunate enough to even have a few Chiss in his ranks considering at how the Maw had destroyed their very homeworld, Shran, Vaun and Tharn were notable exceptions because they were estranged from their people, but still it was quite rare to see Chiss within the Final Dawn. Many outside the Dawn even still held the impression that Sularen despised the Chiss and actively hunted them down. If only they understood the High Regent properly.

After Vaun would take his seat and make his remark regarding Nemris's presence, Sularen turn slightly to speak to
Colonel Rackham, his trusted aide who stood right beside him. "Is this all Colonel?" the High Regent asked. "It would seem so, sir." the Colonel replied in his usual professional tone. "Very well then" Sularen said before sighing. He had expected more individuals to attend but at least these three would suffice given their supposed skills and abilities, but he still knew that it was still nothing compared to the large gatherings held by the high-ranking members within larger powers such as the Galactic Alliance and the Empire. Regardless even the smallest of objects could be transformed into the sharpest of tools.

As such once silence would dominate the War Room, Sularen proceeded to speak, officially starting the summit in the process. "I am glad you have been able to arrive on such notice, your attendance to this summit is much appreciated" Sularen said to those gathered within the War Room. "As you might all be aware, the Supreme Leader, Darth Mori and her Executor Darth Ptolemis have recently unraveled their plans for Operation Shadow Hand, a major military operation to be carried out by the entirety of the Brotherhood of the Maw to salvage the Core Campaign, starting with a major strike on the heavily industrialized and fortified world of Metellos in the Core Worlds." the High Regent began.

"However, in the process of reviewing these plans, if have uncovered several flaws within Mori's plan, which if not resolved in time could lead to the failure of the offensive against Metellos. If we lose at Metellos, the Alliance will have yet another opportunity to push us out of the Core Worlds, and should they succeed in such endeavor, then O'reen, the very world in which we stand upon will be in their reach. As such it is imperative that we correct these flaws as soon as possible to ensure our victory at Metellos and the ultimate success of the Shadow Hand Operation, hence this meeting. Before we dive deeper into the matter, i would first like to give you all the opportunity to give any questions or comments in regards to the matter."

“Don’t you know who my relatives are?”
"Ah, Commander Dobson, i'm glad you could make it in time. Please take a seat, we have much to discuss"
“Thank you, sir!” Brodan noted the sudden rank of commander that Sularen had just given him, and he barely resisted the urge to frown in contemplation. It wasn’t official, but probationary employment gave the High Regent the right to give Brodan whatever acting rank Sularen wanted, under whatever circumstances he chose. Brodan didn’t have enough context, however, to deduce whether or not being so unceremoniously dubbed a “Commander” was a good thing or not. He also noted that Sularen could change that rank whenever he wanted. Brodan would have to watch for any subtleties to deduce the “non-verbal” languages that his master used…

He dropped his salute, wheeled hard-a-starboard, and then began a crisp walk — not a march, as that seemed like it might be a bit much at this point — and then quickly scanned the table for the best place to sit. His cousin, Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson had often taught him some “room maneuvers” when he was just a teenager, and he only half-remembered them. But he saw where Darth Nemris Darth Nemris and Himm'vaun'merek Himm'vaun'merek were seated — whom he awkwardly nodded towards in greeting — and he chose a seat that was on Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen ’s side of the table, but closer to the other two, as ti signal to them that he was open to conversation. He was very new to the Final Dawn, and finding connections was important to him, after all. His logic in sitting in this location was that if Sularen began to talk, Brodan would be forced to turn away from the rest of the table and listen, giving Sularen the satisfaction of having Brodan’s full attention.

Brodan’s eyebrows creased in thought over this briefing and he mulled things over. Anyone with a child’s datapad and a map function knew about the Maw’s push to the core. The problem with their current strategy was that there was only a single corridor that connected Maw territory to the worlds that they desired. A single corridor was a logistical nightmare, especially when it ran through enemy territory. Being a Dobson, Brodan had a surprisingly high understanding of strategic logistics, and he knew that in a situation like this, that narrow corridor would be a figurative “black hole” on the Maw supply network. Whereas other areas could receive supplies from any angle with the maw mass, worlds like Selvaris, Xa-Fel, and Odasia could only receive supplies from one direction on the regular. That left their supply chain highly vulnerable, and cutting right through GA territory magnified the issue exponentially. By rough math, that would likely lead to a ratio of needing to commit roughly three times as much supply in sending those worlds what they needed in order to receive at least as much as their other worlds were getting. And that wasn’t accounting for the supply that would be needed for staging an invasion on top of that.

Brodan was confident that everyone in this room would be aware of this logistics problem, however. He was very new to this faction, and he was under probationary employment, so his access to strategic information was highly restricted. But he figured he would ask his questions anyways, and see where it might lead this meeting, “What is the supply chain looking like for this mission? Will we be going in short-handed and running on fumes?”

Vaun listened as the High Regent spoke of Operation Shadowhand. A daring plunge into the heart of the enemy, a battle that could tip the scales of the war, it was almost like a holodrama playing out before his very eyes. However unlike a holodrama, a minor flaw in the story couldn't be patched by cheap writing but instead threatened to unravel the whole thing before them. It was all so exciting.

Vaun turned to Brodan Dobson as he spoke. The man shared a uniform but sported no rank plaque, a curios detail. From what he had gathered from before the meeting, he was some sort of exile from the Elysium Empire. Before he could recall anymore information he was drawn to the topic of the question the man brought up, supply chains. Years serving as a slave driver and logistics officer in the labour corps had taught him valuable lessons on supply chains, how projects could be set back years if slaves starved because food shipments were delayed as an example.

More importantly the cost of pouring supplies into a campaign that was futile from the start. A decisive cut by the alliance could trap everything poured into the corridor. But there were ways to soften the blow for the Final Dawn, should the corridor be cut off. "To add on, how do our allies in the Maw plan to supply themselves?" If there's a way they could leech supplies off the Sith fiefdoms and Mawite tribes that would put far less strain and risk for the Dawn.

ilS1tTV.png

Nemris did not react to the agitations actions of Himm'vaun'merek Himm'vaun'merek as the Chiss entered the room, though the urge to put the Final Dawn officer in his place did cross his mind. To be honest, the Chiss did not warrant action from Nemris. The arrogance that fueled the man was a useful tool, and to simply kill the man, or disgrace him in front of his peers, would not help the efforts of the Brotherhood. Judgement would come for all when it was needed, but until then, Nemris simply turned his head away from the pestering Chiss.

The discussion began on the topic of Operation Shadowhand, and immediately discussion turned towards the logistic situation of the Brotherhoods forces. Nemris was part of the New Sith Orders power structure, and as such he had access to some information regarding the upcoming plans. It was not a full picture, but he had gleaned enough information to know that the Brotherhood was in a dangerous position. The efforts made to continue the offensive against the Galactic Alliance after Tython were bleeding the Maw deeply, but the momentum had to be maintained. The moment they slipped, their hard fought gains would be lost, and the Maw was ill suited to a defensive war.

The question of the Chiss forced Nemris to acknowledge him, and his yellow eyes gazed at the man for a few moments before he spoke. "The Sith shall do as is our right. We shall procure our resources from those that serve us..." The words were meant to remind the Chiss that in the current power structure, the Sith were still dominate. Things could change in the future, but that was some time away from becoming a reality. "The Tribes are bled dry from this war, and the military infrastructure of the Maw, what little there ever was, has been crippled following Tython."

Nemris turned his head towards the Regent then, one talon finer tapping slowly on the table.
"The Final Dawn is in a better situation than most to supply themselves. Certain operations in the Outer Rim, if handled properly, could bring in all the resources needed to stem the potential tide..." Nemris had learned of the organizations efforts to expand their power in the Outer Rim, so recently thrown into turmoil following the collapse of the Confederacy. Nemris had supported these actions; the Brotherhood to focus all its efforts in one region of the galaxy threatened encirclement and a grinding siege. He agreed the ambitions of the Final Dawn had to be kept in check, the new arm the regent sported a testament to this fact, but they should have been allowed to continue their goals. The good of the Brotherhood, and the Sith, could be greatly benefited from their actions there.

FINAL DAWN
O'REEN, UNKNOWN REGIONS

As Sularen finished speaking, Brodan spoke up inquiring on the status of the Supply Chain within the Maw Corridor followed by Vaun questioning about how the Maw would be able to supply themselves to sustain such a Campaign. Indeed those were good questions, considering at how the Maw had been dealing with Logistical Issues the moment they began their Offensive into the Core Worlds, some had considered a retreat from the area and to implement a scorched earth strategy, but Sularen knew it would be pointless and such an act would not benefit the Maw in the long-term. Then Darth Nemris proceeded to speak, mentioning about how the Tribes have been exausted and how the Maw's fragile military infrastructure had been crippled as a result of the Battles of Tython and Empress Teta II. However he then added about how the Final Dawn could utilize it's operations in the Outer Rim to resolve such issues, but that was easier said then done. A Good idea, but very hard to achieve given current circumstances.

In fact, Sularen had tried to expand the Final Dawn's reach beforehand, but his previous efforts had been complicated due to the sudden collapse of organizations whom Sularen had planned to prop up in the region, and the fact that new rivals had emerged in the form of the Rimward Trade League and the Imperial Federation of Systems. Sularen had sought to reach out to both groups but they had rejected him, the latter having done so while humiliating the High Regent in the process, which left him with a bitter opinion towards those two groups who constantly sought to undermine him. Sularen's inability to properly establish a foothold in the area in comparison to his many rivals in the area had put him on the backfoot, and now those very rivals were steadily growing in size and strength while he still struggled to find local allies in the area.

"The Outer Rim, is to say the least a very complicated matter." Sularen began, elaborating on the matter of the Outer Rim. "Since the collapse of the Confederacy of Indepdendent Systems we've tried to establish a Fifth-Column Network in the region but have run into a variety of issues. First there is the issue of rival groups of interests that are present in the area, such as the Rimward Trade League and the Imperial Federation of Systems, the former in which traces it's origins from the now defunct Outer Planets Coalition and the latter having clear ties to the Empire. Both have already refused any diplomatic overtures, having established solid powerbases and are already rumored to be in close collaboration with each other in order to further undermine us. To date the only gains we've made in the region since we first stepped foot there two years ago have been a set of Naval Outposts and a small amount of proxy corporations affiliated with us. After all it's quite hard to establish a Fifth-Column Network when you aren't well received by the local populaced"

Brodan listened as Himm'vaun'merek Himm'vaun'merek added to his question. Brodan shot him a quick nod of appreciation in an effort to edge towards his favor. Brodan was still quite keen on making connections to advance within the Final Dawn, and Chiss were always good at whatever they did, it seemed.

Darth Nemris Darth Nemris then offered some solutions to the problems that Brodan and Himm'vaun'merek Himm'vaun'merek had mentioned. He seemed to be suggesting that the Final Dawn could use its resources to bolster the logistical shortcomings of the Mawite tribes. Brodan then cringed inwardly as he remembered something his father Omar Dobson and uncle Arken Dobson Arken Dobson had always taught repeatedly, "Try not to be the one who comes up with nothing but problems, and instead try to have solutions at the ready to offer your clients".

Seeing Darth Nemris Darth Nemris suggest a solution so quickly was a bit of a wake up call for Brodan. He felt his own face flush with embarrassment as he realized that he had just done the opposite of what his own family had always taught him to do. He had brought up a valid concern, but now everyone else in the room was going to be the one to solve it. He couldn't allow himself to be in that position... not if he wanted his commission.

He then listened to Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen 's response to everyone's questions and thoughts. He set the record straight as to the nature of the Final Dawn's dealings in the outer rim, which sparked a hunch within Brodan. Sularen seemed to be shutting down Darth Nemris Darth Nemris suggestions that the Final Dawn might have some kind of surplus to offer, if Brodan was reading this situation correctly. It was quite interesting, to say the least, that Nemris would not outright ask for the aid of the Final Dawn, and that Sularen would passively undermine the insinuation. Did this suggest a rivalry between the two men? Brodan would try to take notes ofter this was done...

Brodan steered his mind back to the task at hand. Focusing, Brodan remembered that the discussion was about the corridor into galactic alliance territory, and the way that it could break the resources when the assault was finally launched. Brodan needed to suggest a solution. Even if it was a wrong solution, he would not just sit there and be an annoying pessimist. He needed an angle. He needed a better understanding of the problem. He needed to be more like his cousin Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson . Back in the day, he could have asked her anything, and she would have the answer. She was a master logistician and was second only to Arken Dobson Arken Dobson himself in the field of resource management and consultation. If only he could just ask for her advice...

Then, suddenly, it hit him! Brodan may not be able to solve the logistics problem on his own, but...

"High Regent, um, sir," Brodan started before he could stop himself, "Perhaps certain... ventures of the outer rim may have fallen short on their returns, but the outer rim - particularily, the southern outer rim, is not yet a dry well. My cousin Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson is a highly capable businesswoman and has powerful friends and assets. And on top of that, she has wound up with a recent need for new allies, since she was labelled a criminal of the Elysium Imperium and was cast out of a Concord-Imperium conference. If a deal can be struck with her, she might be able to help the Final Dawn and the Tribes deal with their - I mean, our supply shortage issues. I know for a fact that I can arrange a meeting with her."

Brodan nervously struggled to maintain his composure, not sure how his suggestion would be received by the members of this meeting.

Nemris was silent while the Final dawn officers spoke, the only acknowledgment from the Sith being a slight nod of his head, though it could easily be missed by those not watching closely. Nemris was aware of the problems faced in the Outer Rim, but he was still of the thought that to garner further support and resources there would be of great benefit. The Rimward Trade League and this Imperial Federation were both problems and threats to the Sith, and their Brotherhood of the Maw forces.

Nemris knew what to do with threats.

Turning his head, he observed the youngest officer in the room speak, the cold, yellow eyes of the Sith unblinking as he listened, and watched. The youth had some intelligence to him, but spoke with a cautious hesitation suggesting either inexperience or a weak spirit. Nemris had a suspicion which of the two it was, but he caught a few glances thrown his way by the youth, and he had to smother the brief flash of annoyance he felt. He could not, however, stop his hand curling into a fist slowly. A sudden surge in the Force leapt from Nemris, and the table beneath his fist caved in, splintering before he relaxed his hand.

Seemingly ignoring the display, Nemris turned to face the High Regent. "The pups idea has merit. It could lend resources of a kind to the Final Dawn, and the Brotherhood at large." Nemris pushed away from the table, rising to his feet. His robes and cloak shifted with him, keeping his features behind the mask hidden. "As for the complications in the Outer Rim, I am certain I could find the time to go and...investigate solutions."

FINAL DAWN
O'REEN, UNKNOWN REGIONS

Sularen listened to Brodan Dobson's proposal of bringing his cousin into the fold, while he spoke nervously, his proposal nevertheless had some merit and could present itself as a possible solution. The very fact that Dorthea Dobson was a businesswoman and was in need of new allies after being labeled as a traitor by the Elysium Imperium made it even better for the Final Dawn as Dorthea's situation would make it easier for them to convince her to atleast establish some form of partnership with the Final Dawn. Perhaps the solution to the Final Dawn's problems did now rest only with Dorthea and Brodan Dobson but the entirety of the Dobson family itself, as the Final Dawn had already been in contact with another member of the Dobson Family, Justin Dobson Justin Dobson during a summit he had held which had been attended by Dorian Sevenar, the head of the Final Dawn's Intelligence Agency, the Politorate.

Darth Nemris while agreeing with Brodan's proposal, seemed quite annoyed perhaps due to how nervous Dobson was. Well to be frank, he was a fresh face within the Final Dawn and Sularen was certain that this was the first time he was standing in a room with a Sith Lord, not to mention this was his first military summit within the Final Dawn, so Sularen understood why Brodan could be nervous. Then unexpectedly, Nemris stood up, and said that he could find the time to investigate the situation and find any solutions. How did he intend to do so was beyond Sularen, but he knew that it would involve alot of violence and bloodshed considering the nature of the Sith.

After both Brodan and Nemris spoke, Sularen proceeded to speak once more first addressing Brodan Dobson. "Like Nemris said, your proposal does have merit and could present itself as a possible solution to our problems in the region. Having someone like Dorthea on our side could be much beneficial to our operations in the region. Speaking of your family, there is another member of the Dobson Family that has recently caught my interest, a certain Justin Dobson i believe. From what the Politorate has gathered he seems to have distanced himself from the rest of your family and operates outside the borders of the Elysium Imperium as an Independent Warlord. Do you think you could also reach out to him? Given your familial ties?"

Then the High Regent turned to Nemris. "Also, while i appreciate your help, Lord Nemris, just out of curiosity how exactly do you intend to solve these issues? I'm asking because, the last time a force user from the Brotherhood of the Maw ventured in the Outer Rim alone, he left a path of death and destruction behind which was the very cause of the mistrust that lead to our current conflict with the Imperial Federation and the Rimward Trade League." Sularen was referring to the short-lived
Brotherhood of Darkness that was once formed and led by Kyrel Ren Kyrel Ren . The notorious Wrath of the Maw had once attempted to establish his own little fiefdom outside the Brotherhood of the Maw and failed, and when Sularen moved to do the same thing in the form of his fifth-column proxy network, he moved in to disrupt such plans claiming that Sularen was wasting resources and assets when he had done the same thing.

Of-course while Nemris's intent was more noble then that of Kyrel Ren, if things went south it could led to a full-scale war with the Rimward Trade League and the Imperial Federation, and Sularen could not afford such a thing and thus it was imperative that he know how Nemris intended to operate in the Outer Rim so that least he could ensure he could not make the same stupid mistakes as Kyrel Ren and further disrupting the High Regent's plans in the region. That said, Sularen waited for the others to speak up, eager to hear what they had to say.

“Don’t you know who my relatives are?”
Brodan’s eyes practically bulged out of his head as he sat perfectly still, listening to the hooded man speak and break the table with his sheer force. Brodan’s eyes shot down then up again, to the table then Darth Nemris Darth Nemris face as he noted that the table was of considerable strength and quality. He swallowed hard, trying to keep from shaking in his seat.

Then Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen acknowledged Brodan’s suggestion with favour! Brodan would normally feel a sense of victory at having successfully appealed to two such highly powerful men, but the so-called victory had a way of making him feel… smaller somehow.

He heard Darth Nemris Darth Nemris “praise” and Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen ’s request and Brodan’s fear addled brain went into overdrive, “I… yes! I mean, thank y… I mean I’m certain that I can arrange meetings. Um, plural meetings, I’m afraid. Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson ’s main interest is with the Nomadic Peoples Coalition and anything that she negotiates would probably be to benefit her and her charges. Justin Dobson Justin Dobson is something of an outsider of the family and while Justin and Dorthea have that in common, that’s about as far as their similarities go. Justin is invested in his planet, and it might be difficult to determine if those interests can synergise with the interest of the nomads. But I can establish a line of communication with both… if that works… for you?”

His eyes darted nervously back and forth between Nemris and Sularen.

Vaun's eyes narrowed as he listened to the plan, talk of further investing in the Outer Rim. He grimaced at the thought. Or, he grimaced at the cost of it all. It appeared as if the rest of those gathered were in agreement with eachother, that they would reach out to the people of the Rim, alienated by their regional powers and gain there support. Vaun still failed to see what low lifes from beyond the rim could bring to the table. "More excursions to the Outer Rim, underground dealings with outcasts and vagabonds?" he said, a clear look of disdain slapped across the Chiss' face.

"We are fighting a war in the core, one that is sapping up all our resources. I fail to see why... we should divert efforts elsewhere." he said offering a slight shrug. "On top of that these 'Nomadic People's' couldn't sound further than the Final Dawn. If we invest further into fragile alliances and meetings in foreign lands, we'll have a repeat of the Imperial Federation." he said bluntly, either unaware or uncaring that it was Sularen who personally spearheaded the efforts with the federation. And took the brunt of the consequences.

"I instead propose, a series of raids on backwater worlds of the Alliance. Taloran, Korbin, Jakku... We use Mawite tribes as the vanguard, and sweep in to claim the winnings. While of course a few raids won't drastically improve our supply issues, it would stretch alliance forces far thinner than they currently are, take pressure off of the corridor." he said, grinning slightly as he concluded his suggestion.
