Spencer shifted her feet slightly. The Order was her home, but it didnt feel like home. That feeling was long gone for some time. She felt at home with Ashin, the woman that saw the potential in her first before anything.

"I want to learn, but I do not wish to return to the Order. I dont belong to the Sith or the Empire. Like I told you before I play by my own rules."

Not wanting to be caught off guard she slowly started to gather the force around her. She wondered if Phylis was like the other Jedi...

"I won't closet you in a Temple or make you balance balls on your nose like a performing gizka. We're both beyond that. I would have you work with me to bring real change, real balance to the galaxy. It is through experience that we learn, Spencer, not lessons in drear classrooms."

This writer notes how the previous version of Phylis did just this, which was a mistake from all points of view. "But if you want to come with me you need to follow at least a few rules. You don't fight unless you are attacked first, you don't steal unless you are starving, and you work with me not against me. Clear?"

"Are those the only rules?"

She was referring to her relationship with the Dark Lord. Spencer remained hesitant. She knew Darron would be sending people after her, but she didnt realize one would be willing to teach her some of the light sided techniques. Still keeping a distance she continued to work out the finer details.

"So if I chose to work with you I do not have to obey the Grand Master or any of the code? I am free to do what I want?"

"You would only have to obey me. And that means no sneaking off, no independent investigations and above all, no treasonous contact. If you want to learn from me you must first learn discipline. The Jedi Code and the Grandmaster are subsidiary. This is between us alone. You fall into line with me or we fight."

It sounded harsh, but Phylis smiled slightly. She kept her blade ready though...just in case.

"Treasonous contact?"

Spencer looked at the jedi a bit confused. She wondered how much she knew about the case she was on. Spencer folded her arms in front of her, the jedi couldnt be making a similar mistake as the Grand Master. After a moment, Spencer ran her fingers through her blonde hair and smirked.

"Please define this traitorous contact. "

"I don't give you to the Jedi, and you don't tell any of your 'teachers' in the Empire about me. Simple. We keep this between ourselves and no one else. Fair?"

This would be the sticking point. Would Spencer actually agree to try and follow rules? Would she in practice? Or would she storm off after a day of even basic discipline?

Spencer pondered the thought, she was never questioned because of her status in the Empire...mostly becaise they didnt know her real name or even her existence. It was going to be hard for her to get a trainer from the Jedi and this was probably her only opportunity.

"You have a deal, I wont tell my contacts with in the Empire your existence and you keep my contact with you a secret as well."

Phylis was quite the interesting Jedi, keeping secrets from the order.

"I do have one question. ..who sent you?"

"The Jedi Order is ordered to find you. So in a sense I knew of you from that. But I decided to find you myself. In the end it was quite easy; I asked your brother. You're an interesting case, Spencer, and I wanted to study you, and if possible, draw you back. Foolish, probably. We'll see, or not. So, what is your decision?"

"Study me? How am I interesting? I am bothered to know you used my brother to find me. Though I do applaude you doing your research. He's the only one tbat can find me anywhere in the Galaxy."

Tiliting her head, she smiled.

"Ill follow your rules, please teach me Master Phylis Alince."

"I do what is necessary, Spencer. I was very nice to your brother; he's a nice boy. You need not fear that."

She nodded at her acceptance. She deactivated her lightsabre, but did not put it on her belt yet. "Good. What were you looking for in these ruins? Perhaps I can help before we start our quest."

Spencer looked over her shoulder and remembered the ruins. Casually she placed her weapon on her belt. She wandered over and frowed putting her hands on the rubble. She moved some of it and then looked back at Phylis still holding her blade.

"Relax, I'm not going to atrack you or go back on my word...I'm not Sith you said so yourself"

Returning her attention back to the rubble she sighed.

"Also I dont know why or what I was looking for. Something felt as if it was calling to me through the force. My only guess is that ther is something strong here"

Phylis put her weapon away and moved towards the Temple grounds. Hopping up the rubble she came across the runes which had so vexed Spencer. She consulted a datapad for a moment and finally nodded.
"This is the tomb of a Massassi warrior. As you know, this planet once held the spirit of Exar Kun, a powerful Jedi and later Sith. The Massassi were destroyed, but many of their tombs remain, strong in the Force."

Looking down, she concentrated, and the stone blocks moved aside just enough to let them approach the door. "That is, if you still want to enter...."

Spencer's ears perked as she heard the name of Exar Kun, she remembered him from studies and wondered if the planet still held his spirit. The things she could learn from a holocron or something even better. If this was a tomb, she would be able to use the skill she learned from Moridin. Deciding to keep things to herself she nodded towards Phylis and started to help the woman move the stones aside. The door was there and Spencer quickly ran to it examining it. There was so much knowledge just waiting for them, looking over her shoulder quite happily and childish she nodded.

"Yes I want to enter, perhaps we will be lucky to find something of Exar Kun's or even better...his tomb."

Phylis snorted with laughter. "The Tomb of Exar Kun? You are ambitious, especially since we already know where that is! Or that is, the ruins of the Temple where he was imprisoned. It was destroyed over eight centuries ago by Luke Skywalker and his students...."

"Still, I suspect this might be interesting in its own right."

She examined the doorway. It was sealed shut, with no visible lock or hinges. Phylis nodded and stepped back. "You wished to learn. Here is assignment one...open the door...without chopping it open. Think about it, use the Force."

Spencer stuck her tongue out at Phylis and then moved towards the door. There was only a few techniques she could remember, one stood out the most. The skill was shatterpoint, but Spencer knew quiet easily only a very select few of Jedi or Sith that were capable of the skill. That was out of the question. Cursing, she focused everything she had on the door. She imagined it breaking in half and leaving her with only the opening. The task was a difficult one, but she wondered if she could ever survive it.

"Well can you give me any hints? I can only thing of one, but the tallent is a lost skill.

Phylis sighed and came to stand beside Spencer. "You think too much of attack and forcing. That is not what's important here. Use the Force, see with the Force, and when you do you will see how to open the door."

If one looked through the Force, one would see three otherwise invisible symbols burnished onto the stone, slightly faded now, but still visible. On the door nine little symbols appeared; each of the three in different orders. The three above the door had a pattern, corresponding to 3, 3 1 on the grid.

Raising her hand, Phylis pushed in the third symbol on the first row, then stepped aside so Spencer could finish the job. When she completed the task successfully, the door would open.

Spencer frowned seeing that Phylis was able to pick up on it easily. She wanted to be better than all the Jedi and all the Sith combined. The search for her balance was her key to near perfection in her eyes. Though it seems like a puzzle and a door was going to be her undoing. In frustration she got the hilt of her saber and started to beat the living day lights out of the door. The way Phylis had so easily figured the puzzle drove her mad.

"There is more than one way to open a door and this is my way!"

(You never told me you posted @[member="Spencer Jacobs"]! Bad! D:)

Phylis watched the comical display for a moment.
"I'll leave you to it, shall I? Three feet of granite is more than enough to break your lightsabre, your hand, even your head...without cracking. I am skeptical about your head, maybe you should try thrashing the door with that next. Still, please do continue to flail uselessly at the door. I could use some comic relief."

She didn't lift a finger to help Spencer. If the wunderkind special snowflake balance girl thought that hitting a door with her fist was the way to open it, more power to her.

Spencer frowned and figured this wasnt going to work. She took a step back and examined the door. Remembering what the woman had done she waved her hand through the air. It was hidden, almost like an illusion.

Pressing the necessary buttons she figured the puzzles. Grinning it only took her over a month (eventually her writer being an idiot and failing at keeping up with posts though Phylis will be having a renewed favor above others because this writer misses Phylis)

"Well that wasn't too hard. Now are you ready to go through this? "

Spencer slipped through the opening for and thought quietly. Maybe if this Phylis had met her, things could have been different.

This writer misses writing with Spencer and her writer a lot as well. <3

As the door opened Phylis nodded slightly in appreciation. "Well done, you've managed to use your head...and not as a battering ram."

They entered the tomb to find a small entrance hall with a narrow passage leading to a larger room. Phylis activated a glow stick to see inside the tomb. "Be careful, many of these tombs contain traps."

Indeed, several of the stone blocks in the narrow passage were pressure sensitive and linked to murderous darts fired from holes in the wall.

Phylis meanwhile examined the entryway for clues. "This is the tomb of a powerful warrior named Grash'stao. It warns us that any who disturb his rest will suffer terrible punishments. The usual."
