Wait they have big teeth? (Dev thread for Tikulini hide)

Already it seemed that the woman, Chloe had to get us in trouble by flashing the light into cave spiders eyes. With the pairs of eyes, She reacted the fastest, Pulling out a pistol to shoot at them. While I had leveled my Blaster rifle to fire at them. The red bolts of plasma shot out from the barrel towards the spider, hitting it in the chest with a smoking hole. With the way that this rifles were built to be powerful and blast through thick durasteel armor, A spiders exoskeleton was nothing against this. With the capability of it being in full auto, unless one somehow could survive the blasts, as well as being shot more than one time, then we would be fine.

Alexandra watched them loose a torrent of blaster fire on the critters, her hand on the rifle as she pulled it off her back and loaded the chamber with it. Kneeling she took careful aim before firing past the two in the space that they allow and hitting a spider with it. She brought back the bolt of the rifle, having chosen the design due to its more powerful shots, and loaded in the next slug as she waited for her next opening into a chance of firing on the spiders, though her mind was more focused on any trembling coming from the ground. See one spider, expect more to come.

And more did. The scattered remains of the cobwebs in front of them brought forth another three spiders, their clicking mandibles thundering throughout the mineshaft as they came rushing forward.

"Watch out! Three incoming!" Came Chloe's cry, just as she sent out two more shots of blaster fire at the one to the far left. It hit this first two legs, stunning him immediately to come crashing down on his flat face.

Out in the very distance, their fight began to stir something else deep within the recesses of the mine shaft.

it seemed like blaster fire was waking things up around here. More spiders came. As Chloe took one on the left, I fired two rounds as well, but to the right, and it seemed as though the girl behind us would shoot the one in the middle. And Instantly my mind took charge and said what I thought before I even thought about saying it. (Confusing huh?)

"If more are coming for us, then we should just not stand still. Best to run and fire than to die while firing in one spot."

With the spider being only stunned on the left, I raced forwards and brought my left fist down on the head. An odd occurrence that my left poisoned arm was much stronger than anybody else's physical strength here, My fist when into the exoskeleton and smashed the guts and innards inside. I then grabbed a hold of something inside of the dying carcass and threw it tot he side hearing a crunch. Once again I spoke before I thought about it,

"Move or we die!"

[member="Nickolas Imura"] Ooc - Ima just keep moving this on between nick and me and split the benefits between us both because it's clear the rest arnt interested in continuing and putting the work in.

Ic.

“Going is good!” came Chloe’s reply, backing up a couple of steps, but still firing another volley of bolts.

“Going is GREAT!” She shouted over her shoulder, while nodding for them to take that corridor down to the right. “Over there!” she pointed out, pulling out another blaster so as to target the cave spiders and give the rest of the group cover fire.

The rumbling in the distance grew louder. A bit too loud, almost as if something was slithering and moving with great speed.

Unknown to the group, they were about to come face to face with the objective they came looking for.

Coming RIGHT BEHIND THEM.

I fired at the spiders that were coming for us. my left arm was covered in spider guts and slime. Even though I had to get past the already foul smell that was stuck on my hand and arm, I raised my rifle and fired at the spiders some more as Chloe pointed to a hall while drawing a second pistol. while she may have been able to take on a few of the spiders, I had over 140 rounds to fire. I shook my head, "Go I'll cover you, I have more ammo." And at that moment, I could feel a rumbling start.

And well, my mind changed quickly. "Never-mind lets all run!" I started to run on down the tunnel, and I made sure to be the last one down the hall, because with the idea that it was coming fast, I needed to wear down the beast. And as I could ear the rumble of it moving towards us at very fast speeds, I raised my left hand, and pillar after pillar came up behind me. To be exact, I had five pillars of earthen material coming from the sides, crisscross and vertical even horizontal to give a vary of barriers that it had to pass through.

Only I hoped that it would slow down.

The group went running down the mineshaft, feed pounding the ground as the Tikulini came roaring at them, it’s big maws biting down to only crush the first pillar that fell down upon it.

“Don’t kill it!” came Chloe’s command. But honestly, what kind of SANE command was that?

Well there was a method to her madness. A higher purpose. You can get lots of things for one dead Tikulini.

But if you bring back a live one…. well…she reckon AEL would be mighty happy to see that.

“If we can knock it unconscious we can take it back alive!” she yelled out [member="Nickolas Imura"]. But that would mean it would be even MORE difficult to take down.

And just how were they going to take down a living Tikulini?

Well that’s why she had the heavy duty stun weapons to begin with. If they could get it paralyzed temporarily, she could administer a tranq that would knock it out completely.

They just had to.. well… tire it out some.

Running around and throwing stuff at it would help out with that.

As we both were running, Chloe yelled out to don't kill it. All I could think about why we were here then? I didn't sign up to look at huge teeth that chomped down on a meter wide pillar! Taking a second to ask, i was interpreted by saying that we could take it alive. I knew what she was getting at, and I already came to an idea. Turing around but still running, I fired a grenade behind me. Hitting the top of the cave. Intending to possibly hit a spot where the rocks would slam down on it's head, and possibly hit it unconscious or slow it down with its digging prowess.

My first shot didn't do it, but I could tell that it did slow down after taking five pillars to the face and then the threat of a Grenade launcher attachment.

I then raised more pillars only this time, I raised four that were almost two meters thick! I know the beast was huge, but it would be forced to eat more rock to where I fired a second grenade round. Hearing a cave, More rocks than the first one.

I hoped that it might have slowed it down. And I would keep the last one, just in case we could not capture it, all I would need was a mouth opening, and all his innards would become mush.

[member="Chloe Blake"]

[member="Nickolas Imura"] did a fantastic job with the telekinesis. Far better than she would be able to. Either way, the pillars did serve their purpose, and while they didn't completely stop the enormous worm, they did slow it down.

And perhaps angered it a bit more.

The ground shook under them as she too gave a half turn, one hand digging into her utility belt to pull out a Spore/B stun grenade. They are black, ovoid grenades manufactured by Czerka Arms that released microscopic Bothan stun spores capable of incapacitating targets. Hopefully, along with Nick's telekinesis and a bit more work, they would be able to incapacitate it.

"Incoming!" she shouted out at him, just as she pulled out the pin and tossed it straight into the Tikulini's mouth....

As the beast continued to bare down on us, I fired round from the DD-12 blaster rifle aimed for its eyes. Even though t could not see very well, it would surely hurt, and piss it off.

I also provided us time for Chloe to grab whatever and watched as she threw it. We kept running even though it may be done. ''I heard a blast from the inside as it was muffled by the swallowing of the grenade. At the momentum it was moving along, even if we did stun it, the large beast would still continue to move on. I vaguely remember a Scientific law about an object in motion stays in motion unless a force acts upon it.

I smiled as I summoned hopefully the last pillar that was needed to stop or greatly slow down its movement. As for the grenade, I didn't know if it would be strong enough to knock it out, but I had faith that it would.

[member="Chloe Blake"]

There was a resonating BOOM as that Bothan stun grenade went off inside the Tikulini, and it gave a roar of rage.

While [member="Nickolas Imura"] sent another massive pillar on top of its head, Chloe came to a sliding halt, her hair whipping around her in a blonde curtain as she snapped her hand behind her to swing the rifle on her back to the front.

“KEEP HIM BUSY!” she shouted, as she began to back up, her free hand going to her utility belt to gather the darts packing enough traq juice to knock out a full grown wookie. She needed all the time she could get to load up the tranqs. One. Two. Three. Four. Five!

Click click click click click, she slammed the ammo mag in, drew back the charging handle as her thumb flicked the safety off.

Chloe stopped as the beast head had been slammed down by my pillar. He came to almost a complete stop. She needed time, and I gave it to her.

Using the last ounce of my energy, two pillars came from the respective sides of the beasts head, and with a very quick smash to where the preverbal temples of the beasts head came a crunch sound as the tried to push towards eachother with enough force to hurt the beast, but not kill it. And as the head was smaller than that of the rest of the body it wasn't going anywhere.

"FIRE!"

[member="Chloe Blake"]

Chloe didn’t need a second urging. Traq dart loaded in the chamber, the Warden of the Sky lifted the rifle up to rest at the pocket of her shoulder, cheek resting against the rifle stock, left eye closing shut as she took aim.

BANG!

Came the sound of the rifle as she pulled the trigger, sending a single tranq dart flying straight for the Tikulini as two pillars came crashing down upon it. It went sailing only to sink with impact upon the thick skin, injecting the fluid needed to start knocking him out.

Chloe wasn’t about to waste time to see if one was enough. Legs spread for balance, she sent another three volleys of darts. Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three more landed in a neat tight group just around the vital neck area, where the main artery would pump the drug through the worm’s body. It gave a massive scream and shudder, as it still attempted to stubbornly come at them.

But Chloe held her ground, as she pulled the trigger and sent the last final tranq dart at the worm.

With one massive cry, and enough drugs pumping through its body to put down a small group of Wookies, the massive Tikulini went slumping down with a loud resonating thump as bits of debris from the pillars went rolling off his body.

And thats how a giant worm goes down.

Taking a grip of the blaster that I was holding. I let the pillars grip on the beast wane as it sunk to the ground. I looked to Chloe as She clearly had fired all of the rounds from the gun. I nodded to her, and slowly began to walk towards the beast. Hoping that it was actually down. "Now that was fun." I spoke coming closer to the beast. I rested my foot against it's rough hide. "I should totally take a picture of this and post it on the Holonet."

I took my foot of and looked to Chloe, "Now um.... how do we get it out of here?"

[member="Chloe Blake"]

Chloe slowly lowered her rifle and gave a shuddering sigh of relief. Five people came in and only two remained to put in the work to get this sucker.

She had no clue where the other three went off to, but it was clear that it was only [member="Nickolas Imura"] and her left, as they were the only two who managed to take down the Tikulini by themselves. Maybe the other three ran off, or maybe they got lost within the ravines. Either way, both her and Nick had to deal with getting this lug out of the mineshaft. She took a moment to study her surroundings, behind them the light of the entrance of the tunnel shining through the cloud of fine dust and debris.

If they had waited a bit they could have possibly chased it out of the mine, but it is what it is.

A thought came to mind.

Baby blue eyes went grinning over to Nickolas then. “I’ve some Vine-rope on the Aurora…and she has some nice tugging power.”

Yup. They were going to shuck the worm right out of the mining shaft. So with that, Chloe swung that rifle at her back and did just that. She would need Nick’s help of course, and would take a while to make sure that the pillars and rubble around it wouldn’t tear the large thing in half, that’s where Nick would come in with his telekinetic abilities.

I looked to Chloe as she said that we would both have to work on this one alone since the others kind of bailed on us. I nodded my head. Looking down at the rifle, I found that I only had literally 9 shots left. I whistled and slung it over my back as I took a few steps back. and using both of my arms. removed the pillars. Breaking them off. I almost carried them with the force to the end of the tunnel. well, in the direction we came from. and put it behind the beast.

Should he wake up, He wouldn't be able to move back. Only forward into the ship that we would be using. I then followed after Chloe to get the rope, and help tie this beast up, and then literally carry this sucker out.

"I hope that I will have to only do this once."

[member="Chloe Blake"]

It took some time to get that worm properly secured, a good three hours. Good thing it’s hide was tough enough to resist lightsabers, it would make shucking this slumbering beast out all the more easier.

She gave it a couple of more tranq shots to make sure it stayed good and knocked out. For courtesy as a guide, during the time they took to secure the worm, she also attempted to find the other three. Still nothing.

She’ll do a more thorough search later, but her life sensors didn’t show any other humanoid life within the mineshafts either through data scanners or the Force. Maybe they just ran scared.

Finally, after the worm was secured. Chloe gave a nod at [member="Nickolas Imura"] ‘s comment, “Same here,” she said, blowing a puff of hot air to push the blonde bangs out of her face. A small hand rub went to gently pat the Tikulini.

“Hey there old girl, just keep on slumbering.” it was for the best really. These types of beasts, while beautiful, were a danger for the local inhabitants. Perhaps elsewhere… things might go a bit better.

After this, it would simply be a matter of pulling the worm out and then delivery. Chloe had already made a call over towards the powers that be, sending out feelers for anyone ([member="Rave Merrill"] ) who would be mighty inclined to pay what have you for a live Tikulini, placing the contact details with her name and that of Nickolas as the owners offering it for sale.

It was just a matter of time and perhaps a few more tranq darts.

One live tikulini. For that, AEL would pay a hundred thousand credits and moderately priceless taozin amulets for all, along with an I.O.U. for a special upcoming item from the Summer Line. Such things could be easily ascertained; after all, AEL was pretty much the only firm around that dealt in critters of this nature. Upon contact, the deal would be smooth, the tikulini taken off their hands, the payment quick.

It was to no surprise that the call came in quickly with an offer. One hundred thousand credits split between the two and the taozin amulets for both Chloe and [member="Nickolas Imura"]. And that special I.O.U. from AEL’s summer line!

It was with this wide grin that Chloe relayed the information. “I think that is a very fair offer, hmm?” came her cheery drawl. She didn’t doubt Nick would object, as Chloe sent the confirmation to ( [member="Rave Merrill"] ) on the agreement of the trade, the coordinates sent on where they would drop the Tikulini off and claim their reward.

All fantastically done in a days work!

Looking to Chloe in amazement as the amount of money as well as the amulet and an IOU was a huge thing for me. Literally that was more than what I almost ever owned all in one because of this hunt. Looks like I should do hunts like this more often.

Nodding to Chlose in shock and awe, I confirmed that it was fine with me. "Yeah.... I need to hunt more of these. Get me some more money."

I then looked myself over and say that being dirty with a little bit of cuts from running past rocks that I had not felt until now. "Um, at a later date though."
