Description:

Alric Kuhn and Vanir Technologies have long since been capable, and fully researching the use of Yuuzhan Vong bio-technology with a solid mixture of standard technology. When Madam Nel took over operations of Vanir Technologies this research went into overdrive, with Nel being wholly confident that a mixture of the two worlds would be capable of producing unique and helpful devices that most of the galaxy could only dream of.

As is always the case, the first application of this technological mixture came about for military means.

Saeva Incorporated, having been around and functioning for longer than Vanir Technologies has always been a driving force in the creation of new weapons and armors, after becoming the Military arm of Vanir Saeva has often called upon it's parent company to create new an effective means of combating different opponents. After their work for the One Sith during the coup against the Dark Lord it became apparent that Saeva was ill-equipped to properly combat powerful force users.

During the fighting on Coruscant it was often noted that Saeva could overwhelm and sweep force users in large number, but on one on one, one on two, and even one on three combat it was often apparent that powerful force users simply outmatched and by far outclassed even the most well trained Saeva Incorporated Soldiers. Though this deficiency was often compensated for using weaponry such as the VT-Needle Disruptor, SI-74 Anti-Tank Rifle, and several other pieces of weaponry designed by Vanir Technologies it was apparent that the force users capability of manipulating their opponents body, mostly through such means as telekinesis was the real problem.

Madam Nel, having previously worked for Titan Industries and having poached many of their Shapers when the company began to fall was well versed and capable of producing new Yuuzhan Vong Bio-technology. Her intent had always been to mix both Yuuzhan Vong, and standard galactic technology, and Saeva Incorporateds need to combat force users became the first place to test this new theorem.

What came about in this project was the Vanir Technologies Vonduun Skerr Karamik.

The armor was designed and created specifically to function was an anti-force user armor, distilling the Vonduun Skerr Kyrrics force resistance into something more simple, refined, and flexible. This was done by breeding the standard Vonduun Crab with several smaller Yuuzhan Vong biots, crossing them until eventually the Vonduun Skerr Kyrric began much more like a standard Ooglith Masquer, in that it was more pliable, form fitting, and vastly more flexible than the standard Vonduun Skerr Kyrric. In essence, the Vonduun Skerr Karamik became more of an underlay than a true piece of armor, capable of deflecting most blades, slughtrowers, and absorbing some blaster bolts but incapable of standing up to extreme damage or lightsabers like regular Vonduun Skerr Kyrric would. Additionally, the Vonduun Skerr Karamik retained it's ability to withstand the touch of the force, and even going fruther. The Vonduun Skerr Kamarik like an ooglith seeps into the wearer, rendering them partially dead to the force. This is the main function of the Skerr Karamik underlay, allowing the user further range of motion against most force users, allowing them to slip through the grasp of telekinesis, as well as most powers of the force, and all around remain a little bit more safe against Sith and Jedi. It should also be noted that this underlay renders force users incapable of properly connecting with the force, making it a terrible idea for a force users to wear this.

The biot portion of the Vonduun Skerr Karamik of course function as only an underlay, meaning that it is not functional as proper armor. In order to allow it's functionality as an armor to be utilized in combat, and also to allow it some safety the Vonduun Skerr Karamik was given the ability to "latch" onto certain things. In this effect, the biot of the Vonduun Skerr Karamik can be described very similarly to a snail. The biot will latch onto and grab portions of armor plating that have been coated with a certain nutrient rich paste developed by Vanir Technologies. The biot grabs onto these plates and holds them in place, tightly locking them onto itself so they are difficult, if not nearly impossible to remove.

These plates are created by Vanir Technologies specifically for the Vonduun Skerr Karamik, a mixture of Carbo-plas coated with Vanir Technologies Shark-Skin. This allows the plates to remain structurally sound, acting as defense against heavier weaponry as well as several lightsaber strikes. Of course, because these plates are rigid, they only cover the vital organs of the wearer, being placed upon the armor itself once the biot of the Vonduun Skerr Karamik is actually put on. This means that actually putting the full armor of Skerr Karamik on is...in short a massive pain in the ass. It always takes two people to properly secure the plates of the armor into place and arrange them in the exact segmented position, training being required to do it properly.

This make the armor difficult to sell as a singular product, that along with the complexity in the armors composition, the nutrient paste required, and the odd make-up of the armor as a whole means that the VT-Vonduun Skerr Karamik is an incredibly rare product, but an effective one.
