- Singularity: Like it's Yuuzhan Vong Counterpart the VT-Singularity Grenade creates a powerful gravitational force within it's detonation zone. This Singularity is incredibly strong and is capable of ripping apart flesh, durasteel, and even stronger materials like phrik and beskar. The singularity is born of tiny Dovin Basal Seeds contained within a suspended chamber inside of the grande, when activated the chamber breaks and the seeds combined, creating the singularity and powering it for five to ten seconds before it dissipates.
- Range: Though the singularity born of the Dovin Basal seeds is incredibly powerful, it has a limited range of about two meters. This is equal to a standard singularity mine, and is mostly due to the power constraints of the seeds themselves. Compared to other grenades with blast radius' of up to fifteen meters(Thermal Detonators) this is incredibly small.
- Danger: Utilizing a Singularity Grenade can be incredibly dangerous. The only thing containing the seeds that activate the Grenades effects is a small transparisteel chamber, if this chamber is broken by a stray blaster shot, piece of shrapnel, anything at all the seeds will activate and nearly instantly take effect. This means carrying the weapons can be incredibly hazardous.
Though Vanir Technologies has been working on anti-force using technology for some time now, the company has also always worked with other more interesting sciences such as Yuuzhan Vong Bio-technology.
This adaption of the Yuuzhan Vong biots and 'living' weapons comes from Alric Kuhn's previous position as the head of Titan Industries. During his tenure as CEO Alric made many 'friends' among the Yuuzhan Vong shapers working for him. These shapers, though insular, saw much potential in working for Alric, and thus when Vanir Technologies was founded many of them began to work for the corporation.
Over the years these shapers have developed numerous smaller technologies for Vanir, and their research has lead to several small advances in adapting their peoples biots to more ordinary designs.
A result of one side of this research was the VT-Singularity Grenade. The design and function of the grenade itself is not too dissimilar from the original Yuuzhan Vong Singularity Mine. The only real difference within the weapon is the change of housing design, utilizing standard materials instead of a Yorick Coral carapace. The advantage of this is mostly for the adaption of use by non-Yuuzhan Vong beings.
This would allow Vanir to market and sell the Singularity Grenade to galactic governments who did not necessarily feel comfortable with standard biots.
