Classification: Urban Center

Location: Monastery

Affiliation: Order of the Sacred Lotus

Demographics: 34% Human, 16% Kiffar, 18% Twi’Lek, 12% Mirialan, 20% Other

Points of Interest:

  • Britonni Spaceport: Perhaps the most notable feature as it rests on the edge of the Stone Valley, the Britonni Spaceport is your way in and out of Vitalii if you are traveling by way of shuttle, freighter or transport of some kind. Here the Vitalii officials check you through, the customs here are quite rigorous so be mindful of what you bring in and out of the city.

  • Grand Cathedral: Much like other towns and villages in the area there are shared religious sights, and the Grand Cathedral is among them. Painted in colors to bring peace and prosperity, here may you find the inner sanctum of your soul.

  • Materium Patronae: MP is the largest warehouse company within the city as such their main warehouse, near the Stone Valley is easily recognizable by the signature MP logo atop of its roof. There you may find guards keeping watch over every precious cargo container.

  • Scapa Shores: Lined with rocks that serve to rip apart any vessel that dare to go near, the shore is simply the reference for the Scapa Canal which controls the flow of water going through the city as well as enabling seafaring vessels in and out of the city.

  • Governor’s Villa: Back when Vitalii had once been part of the larger scheme here on Monastery, there was built for the Governor a grand villa, and now it serves as a theater where actors go to put on plays, where music and speeches are made.

  • The Forum: Where most come to speak with one another, the Forum is where all activity in the city truly happens, no square can compare to it. Grand columns marking Vitalii victories whether they are financial, diplomatic or military. Beautiful fountains and gardens line the middle of the forum with marble-like stone gracing much of the podium.

  • Gladiatorii Ludis: A training school for gladiatorial combat, incorporates both beast handling, and weapons training along with workshops on creating armor, weapons and other needed material.

  • The Arena: Where many of the said gladiatorial events happen, the Arena also plays hosts to races of varying kinds be they by beast, machine, man or a combination thereof.

  • The Council: Simply referred to as the Council it is both an organization and a building, its dome shape can be seen for miles, it is the signature face along the Vitalii skyline. It is here that much of the governing is done and it is here where the important legislative decisions are made.

  • Magistrate: Not to far from the Council, sits the Magistrate and here the elected judges weigh in on law and order in and around Vitalii.

Description: A large city that feels almost like a small town as you walk through its narrow streets of cobbled stone. Homes and businesses are close enough you could walk along the rooftops if you so dared. Beast drawn carriages, and carts draw up much of the traffic as you make your way through to the main squares. A plaza greets you, and you take note of the open air market, the warehouse to your left and behind you, you see the archway in which you’ve just come through. May you find peaceful winds, let them guide you through all that is vital. You lay your hand against the smooth stone work of the arch and note the people coming in and out.

You realize that you’ve just come through the main gate and hadn’t noticed the sign that quietly marks the city, Vitalii. And then you notice the water that drips on the top of your head, aqueduct that is the arch in which you’ve come under and you note that it runs throughout the city. The fountain in the plaza most likely draws its water from there, holosigns direct you to another market in the city and yet another sign informs you of where to go should you wish to speak with the city’s council or the mayor even. Vitalii seems strange to you, a mix of old world and new and yet you find it charming in a way as the vendors greet you and urge you to try a sample of their latest deep-fried bantha steak on a stick. The smell is rather enticing as are the other smells from the food vendors along this alley, such as the sweet pastries or caf-drinks that are made almost straight from the bean itself.

History: Vitalii. Records indicate it was built during the four hundred years of darkness, it started from the many refugees that had been on Monastery prior to the gulag plague. Vitalii started as a large livestock village, and expanded as time went on. Clay deposits, forests and valleys of stone were found enabling the village to grow into a town, soon Vitalii scouts would encounter towns like Leonasa which at the time had been but a small coalition of people - and mountain villages like Maurius eventually became known as well. Stone from the valley were lifted, washed and crafted to be part of some of Vitalli’s modern structures. Eventually, Vitalii scouts would come to find a source of iron, copper and other ores enabling them to build even more impressive buildings. Rebuild older ones from their wooden frames, coal would also be found and thus the rediscovery of steel.

Indeed many of the peoples of Vitalii had to relearn technology as the years of darkness plummeted much of the planet into anarchy. War, disease and famine had laid claim to much of the region. Slowly they would recover, and as the galaxy seemed to emerge from darkness so did Vitalii, and yet - and yet, the people here still cling to a more rustic way of life. Here you might find a cantina next to a blacksmith’s forge or a town hall beside a shipwright who looks to be crafting the next freighter. A freighter to be among the space wagon train to the stars, a starport anchoring itself into the valley where quarry workers take to the stone, mining it out and setting the large bricks onto beasts of burden. Breweries on the other side of the city, parked next to droid shops and a thrift store selling refuse and junk from those who wish to part with it. Vitalii as it stands now, looks forward to embracing new technologies, new crafting methods to keep moving forward and ensure that the city continues to stand the test of time.

Intent: To create a large city for members of OSL to interact with.
