Strengths:
- First and foremost the Viscount Mk. II boasts immeasurable firepower for a Star Defender. Based upon the design of a much larger ship it sports an armament proportioned to it's size.
- To go hand in hand with its armament, the Viscount Mk. II also boasts nigh impregnable defenses. With both standard shielding and redundant shielding supported by back up shielding the Viscount Mk. II is difficult to assault with rapidly regenerating shielding.
*: Redundant shielding is inactive until required in the situation that the primary shielding has been disrupted, depleted or reduced significantly.
**: Backup shielding is active for the purpose of filling/regenerating holes in the primary and secondary shielding when significant enough holes have been punched. It's purpose is to greatly increase the regeneration of the Viscount's shielding.
- To act as companion to its large arsenal, the Viscount Mk. II is equipped with a plethora of advanced systems to allow it to keep track of most any battle. Making for a very difficult assault on the part of enemy ships unless they manage to shut down it's sensors.
- Questionably unique to the Viscount Mk. II is the inclusion of a Crystal Gravfield Trap which can be utilized to better it's performance in the gravitational field of a planets orbit. Unfortunately it serves little purpose in open space.
Note: While most ships in free orbit lack the ability to detect cloaked ships, the Viscount being equipped with a Crystal Gravfield Trap provides it with a significant advantage in that it can detect these ships in an interdiction field or planetary gravity well. - Due to the Viscount Mk. II's ability to divert energy from system to system fairly easily it possesses the ability to maximize output to either it's weapons or shields depending upon the necessity in the conflict. This is considered while it is fully capable of balancing the two as well.
- Size is a complicating factor for the Viscount Mk. II. While it is sizable to compliment it's many weapons and defenses, it does not possess any notable ability to move quickly or maneuver itself in regards to smaller craft.
- Like any other ship that is not equipped to counter such attacks, the Viscount Mk. II is just as vulnerable to Ion and EMP assaults as any other. While the vessels ability to divert power quickly from system to system, it is not a viable defense against a ship wide blackout.
- Due to it's vast armament and shielding, the Viscount Mk. II sacrifices hangar space. This entails that the Viscount Mk. II requires an escort of some kind to help defend it against smaller craft that would otherwise out maneuver it with greater speeds. Escort Ex: The Galactic Alliance Scythe-class.
- While the Viscount Mk. II is heavily equipped it, like it all it's other fellow Mon Cal models, is, and was never, designed to be a warship. As such the Viscount is not equipped in the same manner as a Kuat Drive Yards Star Destroyer and utilizes it's offense as an added defense, rather than as a primary offense. The Viscount is best utilized as a tank.
- In tandem with it's size, the Viscount Mk. II's capabilities as a command ship make it a rather juicy target. It's cost and value make it a ship that the enemy is likely to target before any of the smaller craft due to it's key position in an operator's fleet and should be well defended.
