A Retrospective - Looking Back on Coruscant's Most Tragic Disaster

Today marks the two-year anniversary of the destruction of the Valencia Manor and the death of the Coruscanti socialites Miriam and Mortimer Valencia. The couple were well-loved, popular with the Coruscant Elite and respected businesspeople. To this day the case remains unsolved by the Coruscant Security Force, who were unable to find the culprit despite the extended investigation. However, forensic reconstruction of the scene implies foul play instead of an accident – as bomb debris was positively identified. Witnesses also claim to have heard blaster fire before the building collapsed, but this is unconfirmed. Only one survivor was rescued from the wreckage: 31-year-old Viola Valencia. The now orphaned daughter was miraculously unharmed and was extracted safely from the rubble.

The woman and her younger sister (Lucille Valencia) inherited the family's estate and businesses. This was little consolation however as the death of their parents resulted in many of the family's shareholders pulling out. An industry representative stated that this was because most were not confident in the business acumen of the daughters. Over the course of a single year, Viola and Lucille would be forced to sell off their properties and factories in order to cover their increasingly expensive debts. It would take them another year to stabilise the family business and herald the return of Viola and Lucille back as active members of the Galactic Community.

    • THIS MANUAL IS TO BE DELETED AFTER READING – ENSURE YOU UNDERSTAND ALL THE INFORMATION PROVIDED AND ASSOCIATED RISKS

The latest model of the HRD is designed to infiltrate and take place of your intended target. The droid is equipped with a sophisticated and life-like synthskin-biofiber chassis that perfectly imitates a human body.

      Your designated target is:

      V̴̨̗̮͛̃̈́I̴͖͉͋O̸̦͠L̵̥̋̈Ą̴͇̌͒ ̸̨̞̊̒̿V̴̢̫̀̿Ạ̶̫̺͑̒Ḽ̴̒ͅË̷͖͉́̂̀N̸̫̭̥̚C̴̡̯͆̎͑Ḭ̵̠̈Ḁ̵͙͑̍

      Your designated AI Protocols are:

      DIPLOMANCY | ASSASSINATION | INFILTRATION

      Your designated awareness is:

      UNAWARE*

*The HRD will believe themselves human and identify themselves as the TARGET. This is not advised for long-term infiltration.

    • Hidden Strength – The HRD does not use the biofibers for strength, instead relying on internal mechanical components. As such, the HRD is considerably stronger than the average human.

Rapid Calculations – The HRD is installed with the latest computational hardware and software. The HRD will express a greater reasoning, intelligence and processing power than the average human, but less than dedicated analytical droids.

Near Indistinguishable – Due to the use of top-quality synthskin and biofiber, the HRD appears identical to an organic human. Internal and external anatomy is accurate and is capable of fooling all but the most sophisticated medical scanners. Synthetic blood and tissue will mimic superficial wounds, however major injuries will reveal the machinery beneath.

    • Pain Editor – The HRD is installed with a pain editor, capable of simulating realistic pain. This is enabled in unaware HRDs but can be disabled in a HRD that knows it is not human. Beware that disabling pain in a HRD makes difficult for the droid to blend in with organics, as the missing reactions to painful stimuli can be easily observed.

Conflict of Interest - HRD's are designed to be unaware of their true nature until they are activated and directly controlled. A HRD that discovers that it is a droid and not the target runs the risk of sabotaging the objective. It is advised that the droid is monitored and removed once they become aware.

    • Ion/EMP Sensitivity – HRDs do not contain enough space to install proper EMP or ion shielding, however the bio-components prevent the droid from being completely disabled by these devices. Exposure to ion weaponry or an electromagnetic pulse will put the HRD in a 'fatigued' state, meaning that the droid will have difficulty moving and making calculations.

Limited Healing – The HRD's synthskin contains slight regenerative properties, capable of sealing small superficial wounds, but cannot fix major injuries. The HRD will need to manually repair themselves or have another repair them. They also do not benefit from use of medicines such as kolto or bacta.

Untrustworthy – HRDs are spurned by larger society and deemed illegal in many systems. People who discover the true nature of the HRD will lose trust and, in extreme cases, may try to dismantle the droid.
