Vikings and Damsels [Lok Jorunn]

Upward thrust of the engines pressed Tionne further into Lok's lap, with backside literally amalgamating with his ingumen as vertical acceleration added to the weight of her body. As a trained biologist, Thanewulf was familiar with all the physical manifestations of being in such close proximity with the member of the opposite gender, but was rather oblivious to the practical part. What was to be felt was a natural reaction evoked by these rather unusual circumstances would be duly ignored and forgotten on purpose as soon as they reached Jorunn's ship. Yet before the redhead even managed to consciously decide on how to address this inconvenience or whether to reply with a sly joke, her otherwise pale cheeks brightened in rosy shades as a clear sign of embarassment. Instinctively, Tionne hid her face behind red locks, hoping the pirate would fail to notice. Instead of a witty reply, all she managed was to stutter like a dyslexic -

"Lightsaber...yes. I mean....no. Err..."

The first thing that came to mind was to ask Lok why he left the Jedi in the first place, especially after he had shown so much potential. Did he abandon the Order to live the life of a drug-abusing savage sauntiering through the galaxy, leaving from smuggle to smuggle, from bounty to bounty? Tionne had to ask, no matter what his reaction would be. Now was probably the perfect time, given how most of his blood was not running through his brain, but elsewhere.
"So, why did you leave? The Jedi, I mean." she inquired placidly, her voice devoid of any untertones that would apply she was accusing him of leaving. The question was honest, and the Jedi woman was curious - what makes a man substitute the essence of light with scum of the earth?

With his lips curled back into a wicked smile, he couldn't help but give a little laugh at the pink warmth spreading across his passenger's cheeks. Jedi were always too fun to catch in their innocent ways and then lay them out for the whole galaxy to see. Their restrictions on almost every aspect of life led to a difficult and not very rewarding journey in the end. Pushing aside the thoughts arising from his excitement, Lok steered the snubfighter upwards and into the atmosphere with a little help from Lucky's elevation tuning.

Tionne managed to finally stop stuttering about what he'd said and had opted for a changing of conversation to a more personal tone. She wanted to know about his earlier life and his experiences in the Jedi that would eventually lead in his defection. He sighed. "I learned that Jedi ain't much better than Sith. Sure they don't go 'round killing off entire populations and subjugating people, but they do absolutely nothing to stop war besides fight in it." He adjusted for the atmospheric interference, "That and the fact that they completely control your life through a little creed."

Lok grunted. "It's pointless to follow those kinda rules."
