DESCRIPTION

The Vigil-II is a rehash of an older Galactic Empire ship that served as a powerful, yet small, picket ship. The Vigil-II has seen many improvements since it's predecessor. First off, the amount of weapons on the ship have increased, increasing it's overall power in the field. Also, a weapon unused by the Empire before has been included: the shield leech weapon. This weapon, first used by the Zann Consortium, steals the shields from an enemy ship and gives them to the Vigil-II. This can be used to deplete enemy ships of their shields while they focus on the larger warships of the Imperial Armada. The Vigil-II is equipped with both ray and particle shields, providing protection from both laser and kinetic weapons.

All in all, the Vigil-II fits its role perfectly.

Are you sure about these dimensions? These seem more appropriate for a cruiser than a corvette to me.

Overall, while I cannot make an exact judgement on rating balance because I'm not sure of the size, this looks a bit overpowered to me. If this is a corvette, bear in mind that even at a corvette's max size, having no hangar only gives a single, extra rating.

Gir Quee http://starwars.wiki...-class_corvette Vigil was 255 so yes I am sure.
Noted. Bear in mind that as a corvette, this size is actually to this design's detriment for comparison purposes.

In terms of overall ratings, this is at least three ratings too high for its size.

[member="Zahori Denko"], I'm treating this as a frigate in the Excel sheet because the larger size gives it more hangar room to trade. However, I feel that this is closest to the 200 meter frigate/corvette in terms of hangar rating, meaning that there is only one squadron to trade away. Because of that, we are currently one rating too high.

[member="Zahori Denko"], this looks like the size increased and the ratings stayed the same? Here's a breakdown of what I see right now.

Production: Minor (-1)
Armament: Moderate (+1)
Defenses: Moderate (+1)
Hangar: None (-1)
Maneuverability Rating: Average (0)
Speed Rating: Moderate (+1)
Hyperdrive Class: Average: 2 (0)
So if we add all of these up, it's still one rating too high.

'None' for hangar size is not -1. Not at all.
From the template:
Hangar: (Please provide the amount of fighters this submission can hold in it's hangar by count of Squadrons, which hold 12 average Starfighters. The higher your squadron count, the lower your Armament and number of advanced systems should be. )
  • 100 Meters: [None: - | Very Low: - | Low: - | Average: 0 | Moderate: - | High: - | Very High: 1 | Extreme: 2]
  • 200 Meters: [None: - | Very Low: - | Low: 0 | Average: 1 | Moderate: - | High: 2 | Very High: 3 | Extreme: 4]

In other words, there is no difference between "None" and "Low" in terms of balancing: They both are zero squadrons. What this means is that we cannot have negative ratings that go beyond zero. You can't take away more of something that it's already at its lowest levels. Does that make sense?

Also, Hyperdrive class isn't even counted against anything as per the Starship 5 guide.
It doesn't particularly apply to this sub because the rating is average, but pushing it higher can result in the need to balance other things out. I listed it for completeness's sake.
