Victims Of Devilish Democracy (Ferus)

[member="Darth Ferus"]

Tatooine was known for a lot of things. Sand. More sand. Womp Rats. Hutts. Crime. Poverty. Did I say sand yet? More sand, sand, sand, OH! And cantinas. There were a few in various cities. This one in particular, he had an in with the bartender. Discounted drinks, the good stuff that wasn't dulled down... It was almost worth the hell he had to live in to get this kind of thing.

But here he was, wearing a black leather jacket, a blue shirt, black pants and boots, his lightsaber snug on his belt. It was much too hot for robes this time of year, unfortunately, but as the locals were generally used to his presence by now, and the risks involved with bothering him, most people didn't try and step up. The Jedi would casually sip his drink, surveying the landscape. There was always that one guy... Always.

No matter what, Ferus always seemed to be that one guy.

Here he was, on the dust bowl of a planet. His home, where he use to run it as a Templar, where he use to live as a Rogue, and where he use to train as a Sith. This was beyond just a house, but a place where no matter what, he could simply live in peace.

Though, peace was a lie of course.

Dressed in a much more casual outfit, casual for bounty hunters at least, the Shadow of the Dark Lord had come here for one reason. Find out some information on potential assassination targets. It was his duty to kill the enemies of the Sith after all. Strapped to his waist as always was his golden lightsaber, and around his wrist the signature hidden blade of his order. This was all he seemed to need these days, as the rest of the gear was cumbersome.

As he walked into a local, and his favorite, cantina however, he saw something he did not expect to ever see again.

There was a blonde man sitting alone, minding his own business. Yet there was something familiar, something that beckoned the Sith closer. And closer he went. Golden eyes widened in realization as he finally saw the man for who he was, sitting and drinking.

Dragonsflame, ex grand master of the Jedi Order.

With an audible laugh the Sith moved right up to his old friend, and sat down right across from him. Oh yes, he knew Dragonsflame. And more importantly, he knew the man wasn't a threat to the One Sith.

"Oh hello grand master." Ferus, who had switched into a human body after his original began to deteriorate, plopped down in the seat without any sort of hesitation. Both feet were quickly propped up on the table as he offered a wink.

"It's me, Krest. I'm sure the new face is misleading."

His gaze turned, and a smile would form upon his lips when the man who'd taken the seat across from him introduced himself.

"Well, I'll be damned. If it isn't old Krest" The Jedi Master would remark amusedly as he welcomed him to take his seat if he wished. "Yeah, it's a little misleading. But I always knew you'd been out and about since last time we met, I was sure we'd meet again eventually" He would crack with a humorous little smile. He knew full well that Krest had decided to stay with the One Sith despite their last few encounters. The things that he had done as Darth Ferus.... It was kind of disappointing, actually. Such a change from the Krest he knew. Or maybe he just never knew the real Krest at all, who knows? Alas, despite the circumstances, it was nice to see his old friend again.

"Grandmaster is an old title. Just a Jedi Master now" He would add, with a slight smirk. "I left the Order quite some time ago. But alas... I see you've been busy, no?"

"Quite so, yes. It's what happens when you dedicate yourself to a cause. Oh how I missed having one." Golden eyes watched [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] with a slight smile on his lips. So the Dragon Rider was no longer even a part of the order he was meant to destroy. Good, it meant he didn't have to try and kill what he did consider a friend. A wave of his hand, and he would flag down one of the waitresses running around.

"Whisky, no ice. And you 'Grandmaster'?" There was a light tease there as he flashed the man a grin. It had been quite some time since he could just relax after all.

"Considering the old title you keep calling me, you know full well that I know exactly what you mean" The Jedi Master would joke with a cheeky grin as he would sip his drink casually. Would figure that Krest would have thought he'd have left long ago, considering the public spectacle that was his "vote of no confidence" that Krest happened to be there for. It was obvious he wouldn't have stayed long after that disgraceful and shameful display by the Order's rather aggressive and arrogant members.

"I've been well, myself. Busy, of course. Maybe not as busy as I was when I was this "Grand Master" you keep talking about, but busy alas" He remarked with a smirk. "Grandmaster DragonsFlame... It has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? I kind of miss the name" He joked, grinning.

"It did at the time. Who knows, if you were still Grandmaster I may have actually become Jedi." A wicked grin formed on the Sith's face as he joked. There was no lifetime where he could of been Jedi, no. He enjoyed the dark too much for that. But the grin soon faded as Ferus slouched back in his seat, turning his eyes skyward as he stared at the ceiling. "Those were good times. It's a shame that those behind your impeachment were Sith themselves. Well, most of them at least. The Jedi hated my darkness so much they wanted me hung, yet they didn't even notice the darkness that hid so far in their own ranks. They doomed themselves, and I'm glad you left before you were dragged into such a pickle."

Joshua couldn't help but laugh in response. "I know you're joking, but I could have seen it. In times of our era, anyway.... Our era has passed, you and I both know that" He spoke, his tone growing sad at that thought. "Ah, those days... When the Jedi knew how to be Jedi. But once they got a taste of that Selena Halcyon juice, they decided to be soldiers and killers instead of peacekeepers. Such fools..." He spoke, closing his eyes and letting out a sigh.

"Yes.... Funny, that those ones who had me impeached were Sith themselves. But it doesn't matter, I would have left eventually" He added, opening his eyes again, his eyes more fierce now at Ferus's last statement.

".... No. I should have been there" He spoke flatly. "Do you think I care about my own safety? My own personal troubles? I singlehandedly went at the Fringe diplomatically while our so called Supreme Chancellor did nothing but make snide remarks in the back to try and make things worse. I negotiated a peace in a war that our so called Grandmaster started, so that the Jedi would not have to continue to be what Selena wanted, which was soldiers and killers. I went to heavy personal risk and made myself a target to do so. I care about the Jedi, and had I not been so soft, I would have been there, and the Sith traitors in our ranks would have been dead. So if I had been there still, no, I wouldn't have minded. That's what loyalty is, and responsibility" He remarked.

He shook his head at the thought of it. "That was the problem... The Jedi, not just the Sith ones... Had become too aggressive, too war-loving... And I was too soft. I didn't have a merciless or ruthless bone in my body. I wanted peace. I wanted the galaxy, and the Jedi to prosper. And while my morals weren't wrong, it's what a Jedi should be... It was the fact I was soft that made me let them walk all over me. Imagine, now... If I'd put my foot down and made the common sense decree that only the council could impeach me? If not for Carn Dista immediately using the opportunity to put himself at the head, I'd have returned as soon as I was informed of the rule, but if I'd known... And if I wasn't as soft as I'd been, what would have been? What COULD have been? Those Sith in our midst... I have common sense enough to have found them, as arrogant as that might sound. It was around that time that we were finding Sith in the Senate, remember? It made sense to comb our own Order as well. But.... Part of it all was my fault for not dismissing the vote and putting the conspirators under an investigation like I should have. I let them walk all over me... And that's not a mistake I'll make again"

Joshua cracked his neck. "There is a balance that must be had... And while the damage has been done, I will no longer allow myself to be walked over like I did in that room that day. Wanting to please everybody.... That was my fatal flaw. And if a day comes where I can redeem myself, take back my position, and fix what's been broken... I'll do it. I don't care if it makes me a target, or puts me at risk. The Jedi saved my life, and I'll risk it to save theirs from this path of self destruction they have set themselves on"

He smiled faintly. "But I doubt you want to hear any of this... You're a Sith now, after all. Even if the subject pertains to that tragedy we both bore witness to.. This probably all sounds like a bunch of hunky dory to you. So let's talk about something that you might find more exciting" He remarked. "Did your Dark Lord send you flowers for all the people you've killed as a Sith yet?" He would joke, a cheeky grin suddenly crossing his lips. Oh that scoundrel, right back to the humor after all that.
