Biography

Viari is the lone child of Pyeth and Nadira, inheriting his mother's tribe name the young Rishii was raised, by his father, in the Auric Basin. Early life was tough, the Swiftwing tribe that helped raise him was isolated from the wider world and surrounded by hostile megafauna and trapped in the shadow of a impassable barrier.

He learned much of what he knows from Pyeth, who helped guide him to becoming a productive member of the tribe. He learned the best places to hunt but also the importance of restraint. Meanwhile, a spark of curiousity was nurtured, driven by his father's technologies and the peculiar stories that accompanied them. He was particularly intrigued by flux of heroes and villains, notably Corbin Vasher Corbin Vasher and Valery Noble Valery Noble .

At the age of seven, Viari, with his father's guidance, took on a new role as an apprentice to the tribes Sunspeaker. The purpose of this individuals was two fold; first to function as a diplomatic envoy to the grounded sentients (although he never encountered) and second to be religious leaders within the tribe, communing with Eostre and the other esoteric entities within the Basin. In this respect, he was instructed in linguistics, calligraphy, and learned more of his missing mother who once fulfilled the same role.

This was a double-edged sword, as Pyeth was reluctant to speak of her and the circumstances of her disappearance. After a heated argument, the pair agreed to not speak of it again but the damage was done. Pyeth became more reserved and distant until the day he said goodbye. Pyeth left on a hunt be er to return, leaving behind a heartfelt letter and a data slate.

My Viari

I am writing this to share my thoughts and feelings in hopes you might forgive me for this betrayal. Your much like your mother, too much, as it turns out.

I am afraid to lose you and I am not strong enough to say goodbye, because I know my heart cannot bear to say it. Your mother died because of me; she died because I made a choice. That choice denied you a loving family. I will not let the same happen to you.

It's my sincere hope, that once the task is done. We might share stories again under starlight but I cannot make that promise and for that I am sorry.

May the stars guide you and winds carry you.

Viari wasted no time giving pursuit, but the trail was cold and his father was gone. The young Rishii secluded himself for several moons, considering his options before deciding to strike out. Not in pursuit of his father, but simply answers. Perhaps then, he might discover a way to help or at the very least identify the danger but first he needed a way to escape the Auric Basin.

His father had escaped, but the how and why of it was unknown to him. Unknown to the elders and chronicles they kept. The only information he had were the trials he faced. Ancient ruins dotted the Auric Basin, some the nests of dangerous beasts others haunted by malevolent spirits. It was a pilgrimage his father undertook before he hatched, although few spoke of it. Curious he learned all he could before delving into the nearest ruins known to him.

He would conclude these trials three years later, granting him the knowledge to escape the basin and carry their lessons into the stars.
