Teth
Rthori, a remote Ithorian farming settlement
Valery Noble Valery Noble

Quiet day, Ithorians going about their business, keeping out of everyone's way. Purple sky of teth over rolling hills and Prairie land with many fields surrounding it, crops that were handpicked to keep a careful balance of soil, and a crystal clear stream running through the center. A vacation world trying to return to the good old days, and at Rthori you could forget everyone and everything. Nobody did farming like an Ithorian and nobody cared more about their surroundings. It was pristine and beautiful. An Ithorian environmentalist was giving a tour, "as you can see, this type of animal is best observed in its peaceful natural enviro..."

CRUNCH

CRASH

Ithorians nearby thrown into the air, a wall had just come down burying another. This species often kept to themselves, and maybe you could see why with what was blundering through their settlement. Remnants of old Sith once again targeting Ithorian facilities in a pattern. Walls were shaken loose, and the smash of a gigantic mace catapulted a farmer ten feet into the air, breaking every bone in his body.

ROAR

SMASH

Armored in a sheet of Turadium plating, wielding a man-sized Ultrachrome mace in his right hand, A large hulking Trandoshan, twisted into a nightmare by sith alchemy, stomped his gigantic foot to crack the earth ahead. In its left grip, it had an oversized Turadium flail that had just split the engine block of a farm vehicle in half, causing a shuddering explosion. The flail looked like it weighed the size of a small moon, seven feet of Turadium chain ripping up the ground around it as it moved. Paareth moved unnaturally, fought with bestial ferocity, and every aspect of its muscle mass was exaggerated to be a bruiser. He wasn't even angry yet.

Who had let this abomination loose here and for why was another day's question! Right now another Ithorian farming village was turning into paste, buildings and all.

A Path of destruction, created by yet another Sith.

Whenever Valery felt like she had finally left behind her days as a Jedi Shadow, a trained and skilled hunter of Sith, new problems came up that almost demanded her to respond and use her experience to handle them. This time, people in the Outer Rim were being targetted by a beast fueled by the Dark Side, and while other Jedi were likely available to go after this threat, she decided it was best for her to go after him.

So with her weapon strapped to her belt, she jumped into her X-wing and traveled to Teth, a world she had never been to before but one she had read plenty about to prepare. The Ithorians there were doing their best to settle peacefully and focus on their lands, but something had sparked a brutal attack that, by now, likely left a lot of them dead. It hardly made sense to Valery — Sith could be brutal in their ways, but their targets typically had some kind of purpose. Either it stood in the way of the Sith's goals or it was a direct threat to their rise to power.

But these were simple farmers and the planet held no strategic value to anybody. So whoever was behind this attack; she knew it was going to be a different kind of evil.

"Stay in the ship, I'm going to land nearby and confront this Sith on foot," Valery told her astromech, which assisted her in the landing close to the village after she had pierced through the atmosphere and circled around the village once.

It likely meant the Sith knew she was coming, but that was the plan — if he sensed her presence, it would hopefully draw his attention away from going after more defenseless Ithorians. And her presence in the Light was very distinct, so he'd surely understand a Jedi was coming for him.

"I'll be back soon," the woman finally said after she jumped out of the cockpit and removed the hilt of her weapon from her belt. She then turned to the village and with a calm state of mind, she began to move towards her target.

Thump. Thump. Thump. Went either a small earthquake or ultrachrome mace saying hello to a greenhouse tank. A spray of water bursting like a fine mist, seedlings inside losing their fragile balance. Yet another remote ithorian community that the one sith had visited recently. You may say a pattern. Paareth might say…

SMASH

The Ithorian next to this latest statement, looking upward toward the mace above, might have a different opinion. Also looking up was a large green head, buzz of a ship overhead spared the farmer the mace, but not the backhanded force swat sending him away. This was casual violence for the alchemised Trandoshan, ship from above. Hmmmh rolled low in his throat.

A Jedi Master's blinding presence in the force halted violence or at least directed it toward Valery. CRASH CRASH CRASH. She didn't need to guess he was coming, large gaps in the walls and a small tremor of the ground saw to that. Small animals forging in the fields rustled through the crops and away, like anyone else who wasn't prepared to get in the way.

Bursting out of the final wall, there was light anger building, massive fists tensing around his weapons. THUMP THUMP Loud thumping run continued, straight at her. "JEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDIIIIIII" An oversized 7ft Turadium flail spun around looking to split the ground, her, and whatever was in the way in half. "PASTE." His alchemized throat snarled. Whatever this was it wasn't man or beast but sith creation. The flail was going horizontally for her waist, a sharp-tipped end looking to wrap, rend or as always... smash.

The ground underneath her feet began to shake as something accelerated towards her from the village she had been approaching. Through the Force, she could feel the vacuum of death left behind by the Dark brute, who was smashing his way through walls and equipment from the farmers he had just attacked. This no longer felt like dealing with Sith to her, but just a beast corrupted by the same darkness the Sith drew all their power from.

"JEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDIIIIIII"

Valery stopped and blinked as the massive brute broke through the final wall and headed straight for her with his weapons drawn. Now that she could finally see him, she really had no idea what he was — he had been twisted and transformed by the Dark Side so much, that she couldn't recognize which species he once was.

"What the..."

Feeling a pulse through the Force to warn her of danger, the woman allowed the Force to explode through her, and right as he called out his "PASTE," Valery jumped up and over the enormous flail that was swung towards her midsection. As terrible as he was, the one thing she could appreciate was that he got straight to the point — she disliked going into philosophical debates with Sith.

In the air, the two violet blades of her double-bladed weapon ignited, and with a burst of Force-augmented speed, Valery quickly tried to get close, strike his right leg with a grazing cut, and move away behind him to create distance again. A proper hit-and-run technique Ataru users called the Hawk-bat swoop. She knew that his flail was difficult to use if she got close, and as long as she didn't stay too close for long, she could avoid his physicality becoming a problem.

Violet light flashed following her impressive blur of speed. Flail moved with a cutting sound of the air below her. The Jedi Master was faster than the hulking abomination, it might save her life, or

"RAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGG" A glancing hit came against armor, his plating not immune to her saber. It was a resistant outer shell to crack or burn, like a tough Turadium hide. Minor burn formed underneath at the right shin. He slammed his mace down but she had already swooped out. A chunk of earth cratering next year's crops. Dangerous flail continued in a wide circle above him, swinging back to keep pace and follow her, nipping at her heels as he chased. The bladed tip harvesting next year's crops helpfully for the farmer, if a bit early for their tastes.

Beginnings of anger crept into his green eyes and tensed muscle, a low snarl. Force aura shaped as dark red mist, simmering volcanic rage sizzling. Anger wasn't just in this acolyte, in time if his development was not stopped, it would go beyond him.

SLAM SLAM SLAM down went mansized large mace by his side, kicking up and launching loose earth, dirt, and crops at her next time she attacked or paused, he would try and go for an armored punch with it through the distraction, straight at her jaw or upper body. Alchemized Force Strength and speed enhancing, welling and the filling muscles, channeled behind the hammerhead blow.

A wide grin crept across the creature's face under his armor. He was enjoying the violence. Not tact or finesse but brute force, with some dirty tricks. His own philosophy lesson would be spoken in metal toward her jaw!

Her little strategy had worked.

Agile and fast, Valery was able to dodge his attacks and land a strike before making her way out again. But it wasn't enough to push this fight entirely in her favor — he was incredibly big, and it would likely take a lot more of those attacks to bring him down. The anger that started to boil up also suggested that he was going to keep pushing himself.

It was important that she remained calm.

"You need to control yourself," Valery said as she turned back around and he began his next attack. With his mace slamming into the ground, he was forcing up large amounts of dirt and debris, which he launched in her direction. But through this cloud of dirt, she felt the danger from his true intentions bleeding out into the Force. So as his punch came for her upper body, Valery disengaged her blades and augmented her body using her own fighting style, before she blocked the strike with both her arms together in a guard.

The sheer force knocked her back several feet, but she was still standing. The attack itself had caused little damage, but it still hurt, and she knew taking attacks head-on like that again was going to be a bad idea.

Drawing the weapon solely into her right hand, Valery narrowed her fiery gaze and quickly brought up her left hand. From deep within, the woman began to channel her own power in the Force and unleashed it towards him in the form of withering blasts of Force Light. As a former Shadow, it had been one of her primary skills to take on those corrupted by the Dark Side, and now she drew on its strength again. It was unlikely that it would be enough, but she needed to see how he'd respond to it.

If she understood her enemy better, she could bring him down.

Anger bred in his Kethenite bones until there was almost literally nothing else. Living part of the Sith code enhanced, brought into being, and shaped like claw or clay. A Trandoshan's hyper rage began. Pumped up with Sith Alchemy. As she studied effects, subtle traces of One Sith manipulations were in the Aura, and the lingering hand of the Sith Lord who seeded conflicts everywhere he could. What ran through its veins was the key.

"You need to control yourself,"

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA," was cut short with a thump.

Like hammerhead blows of her own, blasts of force light slammed into the giant, giving it a few good body blows, one sending its stomach inward as a solid punch, back arched. When the force light hit, it was strange, this was an acolyte not a Master with a deep force connection. Much of what fueled it was running through its black blood, which the force light was acting on like a boxing match. The lingering touch of its Master was scrubbed partially from the aura, turning red mist into a red running stream, but the alchemical mix running through its veins was like a steadily boiling liquid. The aura was better matching what was inside, rather than outside connection, frighteningly she'd hurt its external connection AND helped it internally. Pulling mace into his grip, she'd slowed the force pull and deepened the mood...

ANGRY

Ferocious bloodcurdling ROAR again. Now he was getting angry! The noise of rage carrying far over the village, its armored head twitched side to side, the beginnings of a hyper rage had boiled in Paareth, the world to its eyes was becoming as that red mist like its aura had been, anger pooling inward. Under its armor muscles bulged, veins enlarged it might even seem taller. Flail went up and rather than aiming at her, it aimed at her feet, looking to unsteady, unbalance or knock her down in a bulky whipped crack across the ground.

Swinging mace above his head drew a sonic whirring sound. The beast leaped and slammed the mace, his hulking feet, and its heavy body weight in a great force STOMP into the earth, potentially her, fence, farming machinery, and whatever else happened to be there! "PASTE" he repeated to be sure of the point.

The effect her use of Force Light had was strange, but one side of it was to be expected — it had angered him even more. But that was never something that bothered Valery when it came to Sith or those corrupted by the Dark Side. When their anger or emotional state reached a certain point, they more easily lost their focus or were so obsessed with getting the kill, that they no longer fought with the precision and focus needed to go up against a Jedi.

Whether or not that would be the case for this brute remained to be seen, but his anger was far beyond what she normally saw. It almost felt animalistic.

Then another loud roar followed and with great speed, he aimed his flail at her again. But while she expected it to come for her directly, he aimed it at the ground to her surprise — it seemed that in his anger, he was still able to strategize. As quickly as Valery could, she hopped back but the impact with the earth was so heavy, that it off-balanced her just a little. But enough for the flail to come crashing down close to her as well, and this time the impact knocked her back, and forced her down to the ground.

Equipment and dirt lay scattered around her, she felt a pain in her legs, but none of it was enough to stop her. Rolling away, Valery made sure to dodge any follow-up attacks from either his weapons or feet and jumped back up with a fire ignited in her eyes. Then she charged, her weapon drawn and with the full intent to deliver a more powerful attack.

Her body twisted, her core generating power, but right before the clash with the beast began, something changed about the woman. At the last possible moment, her body's connection to the physical world altered and she attempted to phase her way through him and his weapons, allowing her to come up behind him. Hoping it would surprise or shock the brute, Valery spun around like a whirlwind and used her rotational momentum to sweep the blades of her saberstaff to the back of his neck or backside.

It was time to end this fight.

Kethenites learned about positioning, stance, and grounding from their long-dead Master. There wasn't exactly a clear thought of that through the hulking acolytes head, descending further into a trandoshan sith fed hyper rage, only bestial instinct to rend every aspect of its opponent, including her ground to pieces. Otherwise, he might have sidestepped as she ran at him!

Instead, as she charged Paareth ran back at her! Because of course he did! Whirring the heavy mace by his side. Valery phasing right through the monstrous form ahead of her, huh, he glanced left, right. Beginning to turn sharply, the beast felt a saberstaff burning his upper back, the armor melting slightly along the beam's line to cause injury below. His man-sized mace this time punched forward out toward her! Bigger and heavy than a body blow, right at her chest!

Oversized flail above them followed the turn of his body, twisting, turning with him, looking to knock her flying across her waist, its bladed tip cutting through the crops once more. No precision in it, just force, always brute force. It was like fighting a thick-headed, very angry, boulder. That phasing might be exactly what she needed though to chip away!

Anger was starting to roll off him in waves, he needed to calm down, but this close? Maybe she might need to as well! Anger, like misty Hatred! Thankfully for her, she had weakened this outward connection earlier, so who knows how much was actually coming off him, a simple Sith sorcery that ran through his veins. A potential flash of force understanding or awareness could fall over Valery, that one day far in the future if left unchecked, this beast could turn entire communities into a red mist inspired rage just by getting angry.

With her use of Phase, the attack she had aimed at his back connected, and both armor and flesh were damaged in the process. But as she expected, taking down a brute of his size was going to take a lot more, and each hit she did manage to land was going to push his anger to higher levels. He tapped into it almost instantly as well, as the large mace was swung around for a powerful strike against the Jedi Master. To try and directly block something with so much momentum was incredibly risky, so Valery shifted her focus to the Force again.

One hand extended and as the mace approached her body, she pushed off against it with the Force to launch herself back and far away from the Sith. It still wasn't the most comfortable, but it helped her maintain the distance she needed to handle his other weapon — the flail he aimed to sweep across her waist.

This time, rather than jumping up or phasing through, she ducked low and used the distance she had as an advantage to avoid getting hit. But like last time, it was almost too close for comfort.

character-v-2-corrected.jpg

Watching him after the attacks, Valery felt his anger boiling inside, stirring up powerful dark waves that echoed through the Force. She knew what it meant now, but more importantly, she understood what kind of danger it could become to others in the future. She had to defeat him here and now, so he could never harm innocents again.

"Time to end this,"

Valery's fiery eyes almost seemed to light up, as she channeled the Force and tapped into the environment. All around her, grass and crops were burning from equipment that had blown up. Smoke and ash were rising and the temperature was building up to levels uncomfortable for most living beings.

But the Jedi Master remained calm and extended her hands out to her sides to manipulate the flames that were chaotically moving all around them. In an instant, they spread and wrapped around the woman's body, before she finally turned it all against the Sith brute.

Her hands extended out towards him, and all the flames were sent to burn him down in a powerful inferno, fueled by the fire that burned within the heart of the Jedi Master.

Watching fire ahead thud, thud, thud. Over crops and fields ablaze, his steps started again to run. Into a great blasting torrent from a Jedi Master, an inferno beginning to engulf Paareth. The Sith abomination found each step harder, eventually stuck in the inferno's center, he pressed his head down pushing against it. Hard to see with all the fire, energy seemed to be pulling toward it.

THUD…

Fire! HE WAS ON FIRE!

Sweltering heat within the armor as its outer edge began to melt. Flames were a good match for the red aura rolling off him. Flame on flame, burned all the brighter. The entire armored shell took obvious damage, as did the creature underneath if its angered roars were anything to go by. The force still building at its center.

THUD…

The monster began shaking, the rage so great that the body almost couldn't contain it anymore. Its teeth ground themselves together, fixed in a near-permanent twitching of the body. There was a split-second warning as force energy finished building around the beast, and then.

BOOM

Force Burst

A large burst of energy went outward. Potentially blowing her, the flames, burned crops, charred earth, stone, and everything else back. Again she had weakened his connection to the force partially, which might be crucial.

THUD…

THUD. THUD. THUD.
The stomps came back into a run. What would it take to stop a very large angry boulder? That now happened to be partially on fire. Metal Mace whirred by his side once more. Voomph. Voomph. Voomph, This time it looked for an uppercut along the body, chin, didn't matter, and the flail… that was always spinning. Right now somewhere behind his head, circling around again.
