Feral Versi'Ra

Name: Versi Ra
Designation: Sentient
Homeworld: Barafka
Language: Galactic Basic, Vraw
Average height of adults: 2 - 2.3 meters
Skin color: Gray, Brown, Black and Silver
Hair color: Gray, Brown,Black, and Silver, red, orange, yellow
Breathes: Type 1

Strengths:
+ Dual Hearts: All Versi’Ra have two hearts in the center of their chest that allow them greater stamina
+ Physiology: Versi’Ra have a physiology adapted to survival. They are stronger and faster then most other races.
+ Tail: The tail that each Versi’Ra have is strong enough to support their weight and is strong enough to lift or hold objects/people.
+ Enhanced Senses: They have better senses such as sight, smell and hearing then humans.
+ Long Lived: All Versi’Ra have the capability to live up to three hundred years of age yet most usually don’t due to their combative lifestyle.
Weaknesses:
-Bleeders: Due to having two hearts the VErsi’Ra have been known to bleed out faster.
-Loyalty: They have been known to be loyal to a fault though this doesn’t have to be to a person but could be a goal or a mantra.
-Xenophobic: They are cautious of all outsider races at first.
-Death in battle: Versi’Ra have a tendency to rather die in battle then due to old age.
- Weak to poison: Due to their two hearts poison is pumped through their system two times as fast and can kill them in double the time.
-Sensitivity: Due to their enhanced senses all extreme sounds, bright lights and intense smells can have a effect on the Versi’Ra
-Mental Decline: Once they reach a certain age they begin to loose their sanity turning into a more feral type of creature.

Physiology: Versi’Ra are similar to humans in facial appearances on a first glance though once you begin to pay attention you can see they still have some features of a homonid such as the teeth in their mouth along with the ears. Their eyes are similar to human's but have colors that are more between red and yellow. While their bodies for the most part are fur-less they do exhibit hair on their head that is thicker and stronger then humans hair as it usually extends into severe sideburns. Versi’Ra are extremely muscular due to their lifestyle. Each one has a fully prehensile tail that allows them to grasp and manipulate objects. It is almost like a fifth appendage for them that is heavily muscled and is completely covered in fur. These tails are a sense of pride among the community as a whole and it is a great disrespect to the Versi'Ra if you touch or grab it without permission. This is one of the ways to invoke a rage from them.

When Versi’Ra reach a hundred years of age they are known to be in their prime where they begin growing thick fur on their arms and legs. In their prime Versi’Ra are known to be far stronger then their younger counterparts and even capable of taking on a wookie in terms of sheer strength.

However by the age of two hundred they begin to grow even more fur and take on the appearance of hominids even more their faces changing and more fur growing all over their body. They also have a mental decline around this age that can send them into a feral like state where they will fight and try to kill anyone in their general vicinity for no apparent reason. There have been a few that have been able to stave off these effects with the use of Man’a but it is extremely rare.

Average Lifespan: 200-250 years
Races: None
Estimated Population: 5000-7000

Diet: Versi’Ra are Omnivourous yet always prefer to feed on meat when given the option. Any type of Fungi fed to them can cause intestinal problems.

Communication: Ninety percent of the time Versi’Ra communicate through a language that is similar to Shyriwook called Vraw. Instead of being roars and growls it instead consists of screeches. They are capable of speaking Basic but their voices will usually be projected deeply.

Culture: Versi’Ra started off as a pure tribal type community with each tribe being led by chieftans that came into power by challenging the heads of their respective tribes to a battle to the death. Above the chieftan’s would be the head Chieftan that led the whole race as a whole. The head Chieftan was usually the best warrior, and had proven himself a capable leader. The only way to become a Head Chieftan was to defeat him/her in combat.

After the arrival of human’s Versi’Ra kept their tribal ways but became more modern using such things as speeders and starships to travel between planets and build their own import and export. In many ways they had started to become similar to mandalorians in culture. Many of the race going off to enjoy war as mercenaries and fighting for credits. Though none would ever be caught dead with a blaster or a slugthrower. These weapons were insults to them and their race as a whole. Anyone that even approaches a Versi’Ra in combat with a blaster shall feel his/her wraith.

They do not have a religion but base things around what they call the Man’a (Force). Versi’Ra believe that the Man’a is the past, present, and the future. It is what they will return to when they die and where their ancestors watch and guide them from. They also believe and use the Man’a that they are able to harness to increase their speed and strength. While the Shamans have been known to delve into the more arcane uses of Man’a and are known to use it to control the elements. Which they then in turn teach to the chieftan’s so they can understand the truth of what they call Man’a and use it in battle. Though while Chieftan’s and others may only know one element shaman’s and masters of Man’a have been known to use all four to devastating effect. This is as far as their knowledge has reached however everything else being completely unknown to them about the Man’a

Due to the Versi’Ra being a more combat Orienated race they have developed their own martial art that is based around acrobatics and using Man’a to increase their speed and strength. This martial arts is called Ja-Dut. IT consists of numerous kicks and flips allowing them to evade numerous attacks while dealing a barrage of their own. Depending on the user their tail or even hands may be used in this combat. The ones that have mastered this combat have been known to crack and dent armor with a single strike. Yet using it to this degree will greatly drain the user which is why its only used in vital instances as a finishing move or a ace card. Though mainly Ja-Dut is used as a ceremonial combat between other Versi’Ra. The second branch of Ja-Dut called Qua-Go which involves using weapons such as knives, swords and staffs in combat focusing on numerous spins and targeting multiple enemies at once while using acrobatics as a evasion method.

Technology level: The Versi’Ra society is surprisingly caught up with the rest of the galaxy on technology, yet they still prefer basic knives, and swords as weapons over blasters and slugthrowers looking upon the weapons as dishonorable. The Versi’Ra have discovered hyperspace travel and have space worthy vehicles though only the chieftan’s are allowed the privilege of owning one.

General behavior: Versi’Ra tend to be even-tempered and sociable. Lying and other 'dishonorable' conduct is seriously frowned upon in their society, while much of their life tends to revolve around tightly-knit circles of friends and family. They don’t take to kindly to outsiders without being shown proof that the outsider means no harm. If the outsider is accepted they will be treated like one of them and considered a brother/sister. Anything or anyone that the Versi’Ra see as a threat will be engaged with the full might of the Versi’Ra. Though even then Versi’Ra still love combat and war and many will go about selling themselves out as mercenaries. They treat the Maours with respect and general admiration due to their strength.

History:

Versi’Ra evolved from simple Hominids on the surface of Barafka where they slowly began to climb the food chain and become fierce hunters before eventually setting up a tribe system that was separated by family and led by chieftan’s who in turn answered to the head Chieftan. The Versi’Ra lived a simple life not worried about trade or economics. Their only worries were whether everyone had enough to eat in their tribe. Though one of the elders of the race had stumbled upon what they call Man’a and he told stories of how it spoke to him and how it could to them to if they listened. This led the Versi’Ra looking on the Man’a as a sort of afterlife and reservoir they could draw on to empower themselves and learn from their ancestors.

With the arrival of human’s came a great loss to the Versi’Ra at first they wanted to make peace with the humans but they were instead seen as trophies and could be used as slaves. Some humans even went so far as to capture a few of the Versi’Ra which caused a uprising that began a war. The humans had their blasters and slugthrowers but were ill prepared for the might of the combined race of Versi’Ra and their martial arts. The humans had to surrender due to the odds they faced and even returned the Versi’Ra they had captured. This war is what brought a great decrease in the population of the Versi'Ra at the beginning they didn't now how to combat users of blasters and slugthrowers.

The Versi’Ra were not quick to forgive, but the human’s offered their knowledge as well as their technology to the Versi’Ra which changed their lives. They started to become modernized living lives of luxury instead of the basic day to day survival they were used to. This technology also prompted and gave some Versi’Ra to go out upon the Galaxy and explore. This in turn led to them spreading throughout the galaxy as mercenaries and great war hero's due to their combat prowess and use of Man'a.

Notable Player-Characters: PC coming soon

Intent: To create a unique race for others to portray as well to expand upon the Nidaam system

This looks fantastic.

A few things.

1.) They'd breathe Type I, not oxygen.

2.) How do they survive in the frigid temperature son Barafka?

3.) This probably shouldn't be accepted until Barafka is subbed (which will be done asap). The Maours shouldn't have really been accepted until then either, but... >_>

Well with two hearts their blood should theoretically give them a faster metabolism which should keep them warm? (Correct me if I'm wrong) Plus living next to the Volcanic steam vents, and flowing lava gives off just enough heat to keep them even warmer. Along with their innate use of Man'a of course.

Fair enough.

Any reason why the population is so low?

How strong armor can they supposedly dent?

Any notable relationship with the Maours?

I'll be subbing Barafka as soon as I possibly can, today has been extremely busy, once it is and you make the edits, you can be accepted. :)

Their population is so low due to the initial war with the humans. At the beginning they had no clue how to combat blasters and slugthrowers. (Cowboys vs indians) This led to the initial massacre but they learned how to deal with them.

Well with their hands it would be somewhere between 1-5. Anything higher would require a extremely dense weapon such as a staff made of beskar, or phrik.

They treat the Maours with respect and admiration due to their strength and ferocity.

Went through this once more iwth a fine tooth comb; a few clarifications and you get my stamp. :)

The Tail: The tail wouldn't be strong enough to hold their weight, except maybe hanging like a spider monkey. Also, if it's as sensitive as you say doing practically anything with the tail would be painful. :p

Actually, that's it. :D Edit and/or explain that, and you're golden.

That's to be expected, as a tail is an extension of your spine... :p

Quick thing; Define 'hold people' with the tail... If you mean like in the air? That's a bit to strong for a tail. If you're basing it off a monkey's (imagining this monkey is about the size of a Wookiee, to compensate) it's strong enough to lift small items, like say a blaster (though a tial wouldn't be able to work the trigger, most likely), or a comlink. Or prehaps a lightsaber hilt. (Though it wouldn't be dexterous enough to fight with a saber... would be cool as hell tho'.)

Like hold them still, picking someone up would require the use of Man'a along with the tail. It wouldn't be able to work a blaster because that would be effectively tying the tail in a knot. Though a lightsaber or knife would be within the bounds of it. Which with it being fully prehensile it would be under the control of the Versi'Ra so it would be possible to eventually do it though it would probably take loads of practice and only would be good for surprises or going against multiple enemies.

Fair enough. Keep in mind that it wouldn't be as useful as a hand. Picture trying to do things with all of your fingers together (so your hand is flat) and only bending your ifngers, without using your thumb. Would be difficult to hold anything but straight, round, items.

Since this species does not specifically rely on any element of Barafka, it can be accepted before the planet.

Also note that even with the force (or Man'a) being a huge part of the species, no character of the species can be stronger then padawan-level. I'm sure you already know that, i'm just reminding you and anyone tha tmay use the species. :)

Barafka will be subbed tomorrow.

So, Approved, Pending Secondary.
