Strengths:

Description:
As part of a vehicle development program led by Allya Vi'Dreya, a new armored cavalry unit was put into the works. Learning from history, the Gorgon was built directly from the designs for the Republics TX-130 Saber Class. While it was changed, and built to have an advanced droid brain controlling it, it still maintained the ability to have a sentient pilot assisted by the droid brain. Fast, maneuverable, heavily armed, this vehicle was a nearly one for one to the Saber-Class, due to the the young Vi'Dreya's insistence it was one of the reasons the CIS failed so many centuries ago.
The project worked, however, the end product was more expensive than originally hoped. However, it filled a niche very well, so the extra capital involved was considered worth it. Able to quickly move in and out of an area, traveling in small groups, it was designed with hit and run tactics in mind. Due to Allya's belief in recreating the Saber-Class, this recreation came with some of the same flaws, such as weaker armor in the rear of the craft, little armor under it, and a weaker more flexible type of armor, designed to protect it more from small arms, and light anti-vehicle weapons, rather than the more heavy weapons often found on the battle field.
However, its speed, mobility and firepower make up for the lack of heavy armor. When added in with the more common CIS forces, it would play a critical role, and its integration into standard battle tactics would more than make up for the short comings of the vehicle.
