Before the 400 Year Darkness, Vanarin was one of the most populated planets in the outer rim, not quite Coruscant, but between 1000 BBY and 100 BBY, it was slowly becoming engulfed by massive cities. During this time period, the prospering of Vanarin was part of an effort by the Jedi to help rebuild worlds in the outer rim that had suffered during the New Sith Wars. While this was very successful on Vanarin and nearby planets like Elom, Fether, and Desevro, Progress halted and slightly regressed after the rise of the 1st Galactic Empire. However, Vanarin, as well as Elom and Desevro, endured. The planet prospered for 400 years after the defeat of the 1st Galactic Empire. However, despite it's proximity to the core, some travellers who carried the Gulag Virus unknowingly arrived and the planet was utterly ruined by the virus in 435 ABY. The entire populous was either killed or forced to leave. In recent years, a group known as "The Falcons" have begun to reinhabit the planet and are trying to bring it back to it's former glory. The now mostly dead planet is north of Elom and east of Fether.

• Capital City: [ Greela (formerly), Now the only inhabited area is a smaller city called (New) Vinda ]
• Planetary Features: [ This planet is mostly deserted. However, After the New Sith Wars and During the High Republic, it prospered, and as a result, 1/6th of the planet's surface was covered in cities. Now, all but 1 (Vinda) have been abandoned and ruined. However, the other 5/6ths consist of mostly desert, plains, and ocean, as well as some other smaller biomes. Despite being abandoned for 400 years, the planet retains amazing beauty in many places, and the Mandolorian empire has considered making certain places on the planet into vacation spots ]
• Major Locations: [ The former capital City of Greela (abandoned), home to mysterious hostile 5 legged creatures known as the Whoma. Part of Greela covers a mountain range called "The Kirmas" The City of Vinda, one of 9 major country sized cities before the 400 year Darkness. The most urban part of the city was rebuilt 20 years ago by a group of descendents of Vanarinians known as "The Falcons". The other 7 big cities are Falum, Treela, Urva, Himplia, Yordia, Drolo, and Crean, all of which, as well as Greela, are inhabited by varying numbers of Whoma. The most dangerous city is Yordia, a coastal city that was once a commercial hub for Vanarin and nearby planets. ]

• Demographics: [ This planet was once a melting pot of different peoples, although there were primarily Rattataki and Humans, who now make up 97% of the current population ]

• Culture: [ The people of Vinda are dedicated to bringing Vanarin back to its former glory, and though most of the planet has been ruined, for a large part of Vinda, anyone who would have lived there 400 years ago would have barely noticed a difference thanks to The Falcons successful rebuilding efforts. The Falcons have also been attempting to rebuild the old culture of the planet, specifically bring back each part of the planet's diverse cultures to its respective area. This means that the only culture that they have really focused on is that of Vinda, but they hope to repopulate the other 8 cities and restore their separate culture's as well. Vinda was once the place where most big sports events took place on the planet, and the new inhabitants have embraced this past, organizing competitions and creating sports teams. ]

• Wealth: [ Medium The Falcons have searched the other cities, and have found that Vinda was the best choice for settlement, one of the reasons being the wealth left behind by the citizens of old ]
• Stability: [ High. The people of Vinda are pretty peaceful. They definitely aren't total pacifists, if attacked they will kill those who actively endanger them, although they definitely would not be able to hold off a full scale invasion due to numbers ]
• Freedom & Oppression: [ Vinda has slowly been becoming a beacon of freedom. There is a strong sense of community and unity against the Whoma ]

MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY

• Military: [ The people of Vinda are pretty competant fighters thanks to attacks by the Whoma, however, again, due to their lack of numbers, They could not do anything by themselves against any major factions. They have good relations with the Mandolorian Empire ]
• Technology: [ Galactic standard. They took tech with them to the planet ]

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
[ The planet was discovered by the republic in 17,673 BBY. The planet was one of the few prosperous outer rim planets, and over thousands of years, the planet's cities got larger and larger until they covered 1/6th of the planet. A law that banned making or expanding any more cities actually had to be passed in order to prevent urban sprawl. During the New Sith Wars, They defended themselves well from Sith and other enemies despite their proximity to the Sith homeworlds of Korriban and Dromund Kaas thanks to aid from the Jedi. however, nearby planets weren't so lucky. Thus, for 300 years after the Ruusaan Reformation, Vanarin provided aid to nearby planets that were ravaged by the Sith. The Jedi and Republic gave much support in hopes to lift Outer Rim planets to an even playing field with the Mid Rim and the Core, which was very successful on the planet of Desevro, which became heavily urbanized as a result of the efforts of Vanarin, and had decent success on Elom and Fether. Vanarin survived and prospered for 1,100 years, until the 400 year Darkness, at the start of which, a group of unsuspecting travellers came to Vanarin with the Gulag Virus, and the planet's population was decimated, either dying or fleeing. It had been abandoned for 400 years up until 20 years ago, when a group of decendants of Vanarians called "The Falcons" migrated back to Vanarin and brought much of the city of Vinda back to its former glory ]

IMPORTANT: I was hoping that this entry could also work as a way to create the Whoma species and The Falcons faction. If this is not possible, please let me know to create new entries for them in their respective forums.
