Nobleman
House Trask is a noble family of Dubrillion with close links to the Empire dating as far back to the Fel Dynasty. Van Trask is the son of the current Baron and one of seven siblings, as it stands he is fifth in the line of succession. However Van Trask was never suited for the life in nobility and he cursed the confines of palaces and duty. On the eve of his sixteenth birthday he became a runaway, disappearing amongst the crowd on the docks of Dubrillion's capital.
Pirate
Van Trask reappeared two years later, sighted boarding a the merchant sea vessel Full Tankard with a dozen pirates. Van had apparently joined up with these pirates and alongside them raided a dozen ships in Dubrillion's oceans before a taskforce headed by his older brother was sent to crush them. Eager to avoid the wrath of the nobility the pirate crew escaped off world and it wasn't long before they got a hold of a starship and began pillaging the merchant lanes along the Braxant Run. The pirates were reported to have been crushed by an Imperial warlord in the Atrivis Sector.
Imperial Pilot
The next time Van Trask emerged was in the flight suit of the Imperial Starfighter Corps. He proved a troublesome officer who's joining of the Imperial cause remains somewhat of a mystery. One rumour states Van Trask betrayed his comrades to the warlord while another paints him as being captured and offered the choice of serving the Empire or facing a firing squad. What is known is his skill as a starfighter pilot, having shown potential to become one of the Empire's finest

Pirate Ace Before flying for the Empire Van Trask made a name for himself flying a highly modified and up gunned G-class Shuttle, he ran down a dozen freighters and tallied several escort kills. As a pirate he also had to learn to fly a menagerie of vessels and is able to pilot anything from a tugboat to a Star Destroyer. Swashbuckler Don't let his profession as a pilot fool you, Van is a more than capable fighter having first proved himself in raids against merchant ships on the oceans of Dubrillion. Pistol in one hand and sabre in another, he is a force to be reckoned with in the chaos of a boarding action. It's just big me Reputation is everything to Pirates and so its unsurprising its everything to Van Trask. To have the highest kill count, the largest bounty, the most credits, it's all important to the man. To him its the only way to elevate himself amongst his comrades, to prove he should be the captain of the proverbial ship. A pirate's life fer me Old habits die hard and the once pirate has developed a habit of constantly crossing paths with military police. Van has a hard time getting along with his more enthusiastic Imperial compatriots and is not shy to get into heated arguments with someone several paygrades higher than his own.

- Vibrodagger - More reminiscent of a short sword than a knife the long vibrodagger is from Van Trask's emergency survival kit, meant to be used only when a pilot has been forced to crash land. But as Trask has a love for bladed weapons and was prevented from carrying anything larger, the blade is now a staple of his everyday equipment, worn on his hip next to his blaster.
- ZV2 Compact Heavy Blaster Pistol - A heavy blaster pistol who's design mirrored that of firearms used by pirates in Dubrillion's early history, Van values the stopping power of the ZV2 over the standard service pistol of the Imperial Navy.
- Flight Suit Mk. I - Van Trask is a highly individualistic soul and it well translated to his armour, sporting a unique white helmet and chest piece that sets him out from other pilots, much to the chagrin of his officers.
- TIE/haB "Brute" Heavy Assault Starfighter - Raw firepower and brutality, that is the way Van Trask flies. It's thus unsurprising his favoured craft in the Imperial arsenal is the TIE Brute, a monster of a fighter equipped with flechette cannons designed to brutalise ships and ground targets alike.
