VALYRA KETH

BACKGROUND

Valyra was born during the final years of the New Imperial Order’s presence on Thyrsus, a world that had long embraced the discipline and martial culture the Empire encouraged. Though the Imperial occupation would not last long after her birth, its influence left a permanent mark on the planet and its people. Thyrsus became a society where strength, order and military excellence were not merely virtues - they were the foundation of civilisation.

Valyra grew up within that culture. Even as a child she was taught the same lessons every Thyrsian learned: discipline above comfort, loyalty above ambition and strength above all else. Martial training was not unusual for Thyrsian youth, but Valyra proved exceptional. She possessed a natural instinct for combat, a calm focus in the midst of pressure and an unusual connection to the Force that manifested early in her life. It was never cultivated by Jedi or Sith doctrine. Instead, her abilities were shaped by the traditions of her people - through discipline, instinct and relentless training.

When the New Imperial Order collapsed and the Galactic Alliance moved to annex Thyrsus, the world changed overnight. Alliance forces defeated the remaining Imperial remnants and established their control, believing they had liberated the planet from Imperial rule.

But the people of Thyrsus did not see it that way.

Though open war subsided for a time, the spirit of Thyrsus never bent to the Alliance’s ideals. The world had long been cultivated on Imperial doctrine, and its culture remained deeply martial and fiercely independent. Beneath the surface of uneasy peace, resentment simmered. The Alliance attempted to impose democratic governance and civilian oversight, but the Thyrsians viewed it as occupation in a different form.

Valyra came of age in that tense era.

She trained harder than most, developing both her martial prowess and her connection to the Force. Without the teachings of the Jedi, her abilities became something different - raw, instinctive and woven directly into her combat style. She fought not as a Jedi, nor as a Sith, but as a Thyrsian warrior who wielded the Force as naturally as she wielded a blade.

When the Galactic Alliance began to falter across the galaxy, Thyrsus seized its opportunity.

The rebellion against Alliance rule was swift and brutal. What the Alliance had believed to be a pacified world erupted into organised resistance almost overnight. Cities became battlefields, orbital defenses were seized and Thyrsian fighters moved with the discipline of trained soldiers reclaiming their home.

Valyra quickly distinguished herself among the rebels. Her skill in combat and her ability to wield the Force made her a formidable warrior and she began leading assaults against Alliance positions as the conflict intensified. The rebellion became a war for the soul of Thyrsus and she fought with a ferocity that earned both fear and respect on the battlefield.

But even her strength had limits.

During one of the rebellion’s most desperate battles, the Galactic Alliance deployed several New Jedi Order Knights to eliminate the uprising’s strongest leaders. Valyra became one of their targets. Surrounded and forced into a brutal confrontation with multiple Jedi, she fought with everything she had, but even her skill and strength in the Force could not overcome them alone.

For the first time in her life, Valyra stood on the edge of defeat.

Her survival came from an unexpected source.

Rovac Vane had arrived on Thyrsus with a small force of elite troopers, drawn to the conflict unfolding on the planet. When he encountered the battle between Valyra and the Jedi, he intervened without hesitation. His soldiers struck with ruthless precision, breaking the Jedi assault and turning what would have been Valyra’s final stand into a decisive victory.

In that moment, something changed.

Vane was not like the leaders Valyra had known before. He did not speak of restoring the old Empire or defending the failing ideals of the Alliance. Instead, he spoke of something new - a vision of a Galaxy forged through discipline, unity and true order.

Valyra had witnessed the collapse of one Empire and the weakness of the Alliance. She had seen firsthand how chaos thrived where leadership faltered.

And in Rovac Vane, she saw something different.

After Thyrsus secured its sovereignty, Valyra chose to follow him.

Her loyalty was not born from gratitude alone. It came from belief. She had seen his resolve, his clarity of purpose and his understanding of what the Galaxy truly needed. Where others hesitated or compromised, Vane moved with certainty.

When he began rebuilding the foundations of the First Order, Valyra stood beside him.

Within his growing regime, a new Force-wielding command was established - an elite cadre known as the Sovereign Hand, tasked with carrying out the will of the First Order in ways armies and fleets could not. From among its members, Vane chose Valyra to lead them.

She became the Black Hand.

As supreme commander of the Sovereign Hand, Valyra acts as both weapon and guardian of the First Order’s vision. While admirals command fleets and generals command armies, the Hands operate in the shadows, enforcing order where chaos threatens to take root.

To many, the Sovereign Hand is little more than rumor.

But those who have encountered them know the truth.

Where the Black Hand walks, the will of the First Order follows - and resistance rarely survives long enough to regret it.
PERSONALITY

Valyra embodies the discipline and conviction that define the First Order. Raised within the martial culture of Thyrsus and shaped by years of conflict, she believes deeply that order is the only force capable of preventing the Galaxy from descending into endless chaos. To her, stability is not oppression - it is survival. This conviction makes her unwavering in the execution of her duties and fiercely committed to the vision of Supreme Leader Rovac Vane.

Her loyalty, however, is not blind obedience. Valyra respects strength, clarity of purpose, and competence above all else, and she follows Vane because she genuinely believes his leadership offers the Galaxy its best chance at lasting order. Those who earn her trust will find that her loyalty runs deep and unbreakable, forged through shared trials and proven resolve.

Despite her formidable reputation and disciplined demeanor, Valyra possesses a surprisingly charismatic presence. She carries herself with confidence and authority, often commanding a room with little more than a steady gaze and a calm voice. Beneath her controlled exterior lies a sharp wit and a dry, sarcastic sense of humor that surfaces unexpectedly, particularly in tense situations where others might falter. Her quips are rarely loud or flamboyant, but they carry a cutting intelligence that can disarm allies and unsettle enemies alike.

Another defining trait of Valyra’s character is her relentless pursuit of knowledge. She believes that understanding - whether of strategy, history, philosophy, or the Force itself - is a weapon as powerful as any blade. To Valyra, knowledge reveals patterns, exposes weaknesses and provides the clarity necessary to impose true order upon a chaotic Galaxy. She is known to study widely and intensely, gathering information from every source available to her.

In Valyra’s view, strength wins battles - but knowledge wins wars.

STRENGTHS
+Master Duelist- Valyra is an exceptional duelist with virtually any blade. Whether wielding a lightsaber, vibroblade, electrostaff or traditional weapon, she demonstrates remarkable precision, timing, and adaptability. Years of Thyrsian martial training combined with her Force sensitivity make her a dangerous opponent in close combat.
+Martial Excellence- Beyond blade work, Valyra is highly trained in numerous forms of combat. Hand-to-hand fighting, battlefield tactics, and disciplined physical conditioning make her a formidable warrior even without weapons.
+Force Sensitivity- Though not trained in a traditional Jedi or Sith order, Valyra possesses a powerful and instinctive connection to the Force. She uses it pragmatically to enhance her combat awareness, reflexes, and battlefield perception.
+Commanding Presence- As the Black Hand of the Sovereign Hand, she naturally commands authority. Her confidence, calm demeanor and charisma allow her to lead elite operatives and soldiers alike.
+Strategic Mind- Valyra believes knowledge is power and constantly studies warfare, philosophy, and galactic history. This intellectual discipline makes her a capable strategist who rarely enters a conflict unprepared.

WEAKNESSES
–Rigid Ideology- Valyra’s belief in order is deeply ingrained. While this gives her strength of conviction, it can also make her resistant to perspectives that challenge her worldview.
–Burden of Responsibility - As Black Hand, Valyra carries immense responsibility. The weight of representing the Sovereign Hand and executing Vane’s vision can leave little room for personal rest or emotional vulnerability. It can get quite exhausting, which can be detrimental in a combat situation
–Limited Formal Force Training - Her connection to the Force developed outside traditional Jedi or Sith structures. While powerful, her abilities lack the refined doctrinal training of those formally educated in Force traditions.
–Trust Earned Slowly - Valyra does not trust easily. While fiercely loyal once that trust is given, earning it requires patience and proof of competence.
–Self-Reliant to a Fault - Years of conflict have conditioned Valyra to rely heavily on herself. In critical moments she may choose to carry burdens alone rather than delegating or asking for assistance.
