SETTING INFORMATION
  • Military Base Name: Valyr
  • Classification: Maximum Security Prison
  • Location: Mykyr
  • Affiliation: Shriek-Hawk Mercenary Company
  • Population: Variable
  • Accessibility: While one COULD climb the sheer cliff the base is built on or skydrop, the main entrance to the military base is a hangar filled with patrol ships and prison cruisers.
  • Description: Valyr is a maximum security prison owned and operated by Shriek-Hawk Mercenary Company, a Mandalorian mercenary company designed to match Mandalorians with steady and well paying work throughout the galaxy. Constructed on a sheer cliff overlooking one of Mykyr's oceans the prison is dedicated to keeping high profile Force using criminals away from the public sphere. While the prison will really hold any criminal from any government that is willing to pay, its main focus was the nullification of Force Wielding criminals and War Criminals. The prison itself does not perform executions unless paid to do so, but will hold death row prisoners for most governments. Most of the guards are Mandalorians hired on contract though some are non-Mandalorian mercenaries. For the most part the prison runs itself. With no way to get off the mountain and no one to fight but themselves, the shock-collared inmates of Valyr are left up to their own devices. Outside of Void Sector, the Force User containment facility within Valyr, and lights out, prisoners are left to roam the prison and pursue crafts such as writing, weight training, bolo-ball, or...fighting themselves. Despite its freedom, stepping out of bounds usually leaves the inmates with broken bones and broken egos. The Mandalorian guards are no-nonsense and could care less if you are a pirate lord or were a layer who crossed the wrong hutt. Either way you get a boot in the mouth.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • The Pit
The Pit is the name given to the combined mess hall and outdoor recreation area for the prisoners. It was named the Pit because of its similarity to a fighting pit. Fights break out almost daily, usually with someone gravely injured or dead. Because most of these prisoners are either considered Dar'Manda or are being held for other governments not much care is given for the survival of any who dare eat in the Pit. It also has a small bolo-ball field.

[*]Hangar
  • The Hangar is the only place where a person can feasibly enter the prison. It is also where ACS Mircin prison ships deposit and pick up prisoners.

[*]Void Sector
  • The most secure area of Valyr, Void Sector is where incredibly dangerous Force Users are kept, usually only until execution unless they are being held there for another government in which case they will be held indefinitely. While it is a large, nearly self contained prison within Valyr, it is usually sparely filled. Throughout Void Sector nutrient frames mounted onto walls and embedded in the floors keep the Force Users unable to utilize the Force. Mandalorian Vornskr also accompany the well equipped guards who wander the lonely halls of Void Sector.

[*]Armory
  • The armory is where the Shriek-Hawk Merc guards keep most of their weapons. Mostly filled with slugthrowers and anti-Force User weapons like sonic blasters and various anti-Force User grenades the weaponry was strategically picked in such a way that should a revolt happen and prisoners get a hold of the armory, most of the slugthrowers wouldn't be able to penetrate their armor, giving the well armed Mandalorians a better chance in the skirmish.

DEFENSES
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Under Mand'alor Gilamar Skirata over a decade ago an anti-Force User prison was hastily constructed near the site of Miri Farms. The prison saw minimal use during its active time and eventually fell into disrepair after his assumed death and the subsequent rule of Azrael. However, the idea of a prison designed to hold Force Users on a planet filled with Force Nullifying creatures and dangerous Vornskr continued to be a recurring theme throughout the various Mandalores, however they never lasted long due to cost of upkeep and the few prisoners that would actually be present. Finally after the creation of the Shriek-Hawk Mercenaries, Skirata founded Valyr, a maximum security prison for hire. Essentially they would rent out rooms to various small and large governments where they would pay to keep these dangerous criminals locked up. This was incredibly good timing as the One Sith was eradicated and their like scattered across the Galaxy. As various governments found the remnants in hiding Shriek-Hawk Mercenaries would swoop in and take down the prisoner, locking them up at Valyr on Mykyr.

It was a near perfect system. The prison was constructed in the coastal mountains of Mykyr, offering no way off the prison outside of starship transport. Its remote location allowed for a heavily fortified military base that kept some of the Galaxy's worst criminals away from causing harm to others.
