HISTORY

After the Sith Order’s successful insurrection of the Sith Worlds against the Silver Jedi Order Lord Fa decided to look closer at the worlds he scouted out during the operation itself. One of which was Begeren, where his people discovered the Cerulean Mines. It was unknown who had established them prior to his discovery, but they proved to be a welcome addition to his efforts, supplying him with gems and other valuable minerals necessary to expand his operations and provide a currency that was difficult if not impossible to trace.

This was turning into a necessity, because the usual monetary methods like credits were easily tracked and left a digital footprint. Usually this mattered little, but Lord Fa was a grand supporter of privacy and having the ability to conduct business out of sight of those who might be curious of his movements.

But it was necessary to expand these operations elsewhere, because of structural weaknesses and other issues the deeper they went into the mine. Instead it was decided to buy land and mining operations elsewhere. To avoid the inherent dangers of the Cerulean Mines and waking things that were better left sleeping for the moment. Maybe once Lord Fa was more powerful there would be a different decision.

In the end four particular systems were picked in the Galaxy.

The Yavin system in the Outer Rim and on the edge of the Mandalorian territory. The Cotellier system near Kathol and Elrood space, which puts it close to the Alliance territories. The Aur system near Phu and the First Order’s expansion and the Nothoiin system within the heartland of the Order’s territories.

Land was probed, then bought after becoming viable for mining and new facilities were built afterwards. If old facilities remained, they were torn down and replaced to fit within Fa’s specifications. Because if there was one thing Fa believed in, it was a certain sense of uniformity to success.

It would prove to be cheaper than having to inspect every single old facility and start making repairs so they would fit with safety regulations.

All of this was done carefully, quietly and across a lengthy amount of time.

There wasn’t anything illegal about these transactions, but the gem trade was valuable and Lord Fa had no interest in catching someone’s attention- that would only serve to make those facilities into targets.

The placement of the facilities were strategic in mind. They were either close to friendly parties or were put on points from which there could be a relatively easy exportation of the resources gained without arising too much interest.

DESCRIPTION

The Vale-class Extraction Facilities are uniform in purpose and design.

They have been constructed with the purpose of extracting gems and other valuable minerals as efficiently as possible, while minimizing the costs and possible damage to the environment around them. Where possible Fa Holdings started by picking natural occurring crevices and entrances into the ground over cutting open new areas for their mining needs.

Every extraction facility is moderately protected by six anti-air emplacements, three auto-turret defense grids and a deflector shield generator. This design was first used for the Vita-class Energy Installations and it was decided this was an effective enough combination to be reused in the future.

These automatic defense systems have been supplemented by a Vigor Troopers and Golden Guards, which provide both close proximity as well as ranged defense against possible raiders, intruders or saboteurs.

To finish it all off there is a state-of-the-art security camera network that can record all events happening on the premises for security reasons. If raiders decide to assault this facility and find themselves successful, there still remains a chance that their faces will be recorded for future retributory purposes.

Not that Fa Holdings would ever assert such actions, of course.

A Vale-class Extraction Facility is not only capable of extracting the gems and minerals from the earth, but also has facilities that can purify extracted material and refine it into easily transportable commodities, this to minimize the costs and maximize the profit at hand. This also means that there are extensive storage facilities, so the valuable resources can be stored in a secure environment while they wait for further extraction.

To minimize travel-time each Vale-class is outfitted with numerous landing pads so the ships of Fa Holdings can ship in necessary equipment and ship out the goods refined by the facilities.
