- Analytical Mind: Vo has a long history of working with Omega, Alliance and now SIS Intelligence. He's exceptionally good at mentally collating and analysing large volumes of information and forming mental connections between them.
- Mission Planning: Vo tends to be given operations at a high level. He knows his assets well and is very capable of turning this into an implementation plan for deployment
- Racial Bonus: Has excellent hearing and sense of directional sound, and his large eyes provide exceptional low-light vision and excellent peripheral vision. Can see up to 20 meters in the dark without being sensitive to infra-red, meaning he can effectively read and see normally with no light at all.
- Racial Bonus: Vaal has an exceptional innate sense of direction and intuition. Is able to navigate a path after seeing a map only once. This ability extended to sublight and hyperspace navigation, as well as patrol work.
- Racial bonus: It is very difficult to get Vaal drunk, and when he did manage to, he will not suffer hangovers.
- Deteriorating eyesight: Suffers from corneal defects and sometimes needs to wear special visors to prevent further damage.
- Mischievous: Vo has a sense of humour that is generally hidden beneath the surface. However the odd quip tends to reveal just how much he notices what is going on around him and sometimes he crosses the line into offensive. He studies behaviour closely and will sometimes rig situations just to see how people will react. Kaile's mission outfits are an example of this.
- Quiet: Sometimes he is underestimated for not being very vocal. He is a calm intellectual and sometimes gets overridden because he does not make his point forcefully enough.
Vaal Pal Vo is an operative within the SIS. Once he was a field agent and now he is the handler for a number of SIS agents, including [member="Kaileann Vera"]. He stays close to operations still, often being on locations or in a vessel close by. He takes great care of his agents. They're rarely aware of just how much he looks out for their personal and operational welfare. His sense of humour tends to be conveyed subtly, just a word in the right - or wrong - place to leave people wondering if he was making a joke or not.
He has a wife who works from a military base on Sullust and two children. She was previously a field agent for the Protectorate. This is rarely brought up in conversation.
