STRENGTHS
- Songsteel: Made from songsteel, Utaken is a brilliant shining sword. Light, graceful, and powerful. This sword is light and resistant to lightsabers, blaster fire, and corrosion.
- Vibroblade Technology: The vibroblade technology allows for deeper cuts, further enhancing the damage it already could deal as a songsteel blade.
- Electrosword Technology: Utaken can be charged with a button to optionally electrified. This not only can be extra damaging to biological beings, but also to droids. It can also be a detriment to some technology unprotected again electricity.
- Force Imbued: Utaken is imbued to be connected to whichever Force User is weilding it. If a Force User picks the sword up, they will be able to channel their own Force Signature through the sword, allowing them to use Force Abilities through the blade. This is limited to the Light Side of the Force, as the weapon abhors and rejects the Dark Side by design.
- The Light Side: Utaken will only allow people affiliated with the Light Side to pick it up. If a Dark Sider tries to touch it, the blade will reject them and emit a Force aura that does not allow it to be touched by said individual. If someone who has used the Dark Side returns to the Light, the blade will accept them again. Dark Side corruption of the blade is remarkably difficult to accomplish, and only the very best of Dark Side Alchemists will be able to remotely taint it.
WEAKNESSES
- Not A Lightsaber: Despite all its cutting power, Utaken still cannot cut through equivalent metals.
- Force Sever: The katana will lose its connection to its weilder if it is cut off from the Force, negating the Force's effects on it entirely.
- The Light Side: Utaken will only allow people affiliated with the Light Side to pick it up. If a Dark Sider tries to touch it, the blade will reject them and emit a Force aura that does not allow it to be touched by said individual. If Utaken's own weilder falls to the Dark Side, it will still reject them all the same...
- EMP: An EMP or Ion weapon can disable Utaken's vibroblade and Electrosword components. Of course, on its own Utaken's blade is still deadly, but it will still be less effective. If hit with EMP or Ion charges, the sword will have to be repaired after battle.
DESCRIPTION
Forged generations ago by smiths of Atrisia, the katana Utaken is a historical and legendary sword of the Aoki family. Passed down through many generations, the sword has always served its family well. Its most recent holder, however, suffered a deep wrath in battle. The sword was shattered at in battle, breaking the sword. For many years, Aoki Mira refused to pick up the broken blade again, feeling and fearing that she was unworthy of her own family's legacy... Years passed, wars were wrought, and Aoki-Barran Mira shifted and changed. For better, for worse, for better again. Eventually, she felt it was time, transmogrified through the years. And so, she tasked trusted Serenno smiths to not only reforge the blade, but improve it. To bring it to the next level. Even she helped with the reforging, imbuing the sword through the Force. And soon... through fire and trial, Utaken Reforged was rebuilt stronger than ever. It was a process that mirrored its own present user herself.
