History
While some are born to do great things, and are intrinsically attached to the fate of the Galaxy, most others are not. The story of Uri Eitrisson is one of humble beginnings and galactic insignificance. He was born to one of the many Dwarrow families spread across the Tingel Arm. His father, Eitri, was a miner working on a contract out of Ammuud for his Thanehold. It was here that Uri was born, the middle of three brothers. Like many Dwarrow, he was born into a culture that valued hard work and craftsman ship. As he grew up, he learned skills under the tutelage of his father and elder brother.
Eventually, Uri began to strike out on his own. Yet, the days of his formative youth was a dangerous time in the Galaxy. The Gulag plague was rampant among all species among the stars. He was one of the lucky Dwarrow who were survive the sickness. It was unfortunate, however, that he lost many of his clan to the plague. As a result, he became hardened and gruff. He did not allow many people to become close, as he did not wish to experience the same sort of devastating grief he did during the Plague Times.
As the Gulag receded, he found himself doing work here and there. Often, he was prospecting, smithing, or fixing machines. Despite many of the great battles and wars of the past few galactic decades, Uri has kept mostly to himself. He could always be found among the scrapyards, mining outposts, and markets of the Galaxy. To this day, his story continues on...
Languages
Strengths and WeaknessesJack of Trades: Uri is a holder of many skills. He is an expert prospector, metallurgist, blacksmith, and mechanic. If you ever need one of these services, Uri is one of the best out there.
Dwarrish Resilience: Whether Dwarrow are strong because of genetics, or out of cultural stubborn is yet to be decided. In any case, Uri is like his Dwarrish kinsfolk. It takes much more to stop him in his tracks, and will go much further. He has the fabled endurance of his people.
Short Stuff: Despite the apparent physical toughness, there is one noticeable drawback: his height. Like many other Dwarrow, Uri is shorter than most other near-humans and humanoids. His height and reach are at a disadvantage, and he will need to take this in mind if he needs to face any tallfolk in combat. He also takes offense to anyone who belittles him for his height.
Rough Like Stone: Due to many of his kinsmen dying from the Gulag plague, Uri has experienced a great deal of grief. In response, he has adopted a rather gruff personality. He often comes off as grouchy and foul-mouthed. People will find him coarse, and possibly difficult to be around. Yet, the right person might get past this gruff exterior and see a softer side of him.
