Upping the Ante

[Cryax Bane]

After losing yet another game of Dejarik with Tahl Edrels R4 unit, Cryax Bane sat waiting at the bar of the Dragon Palace Casino on the Outer Rim planet of sin, Antecedent. The geeky slicer and unlikely Red Ravens secretary was scheduled to meet a few new recruits to get the skinny on them. The Red Raven's transformation from an obscure criminal syndicate to a blockbuster organization that was poised to take over the galaxy felt like it had almost happened overnight, and Cryax was determined not to let the company lose any of its momentum. Keeping up recruitment at this stage was crucial.

As his glowing red eyes scanned the room, he absently rubbed his cybernetic knee, the result of injuries he'd sustained during his time in Kessel in a Black Suns prison. The Chiss stirred his drink and tapped on his Datapad, trying to clear off the messages that were pinging non-stop. Although the background checks on the new birds came back with no major red flags, he'd invited a fellow Raven [member="Ice"] to join him for the meeting as never hurt to have a Mandalorian weapons expert around for a little muscle, just in case.

Ice had soon walked in to the casino. "Not bad." He said absently toward Cryax as he approached looking around. "I still like mine better....but then, I'm a little biased." A soft chuckled escape his lips as he sat down next to one of the Red Ravens premier slicers. His eyes scanned the area to see the activity before he turned back to Cryax and asked simply. "So. How goes things down here? How goes the game?" Ice said with the slightest of smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. He could see how it was going, but it seemed the customary thing to do was ask.

Sitting heavily, he let out a sigh as he looked for a roaming server. When one finally walked by, he called out, "Reactor Core for me please. Thanks." With that, he turned back toward Cryax to hear what he had to say.

Saki walked into the casino looking a her data pad"looks like the place gotta say this is fancy"she didn't really go into casinos much at all, scanning the area she spotted [member="Ice"] and then someone who she was supposed to meet sitting by him"hmmm"she walked over "are you [member="Cryax Bane"] " she spoke to him and nodded over to ice

Logan walked into the casino, looking down at the comm system integrated into the armor wrapped around his wrist. He had chosen to forgo the rest of the armor, leaving just the right wrist piece on. He was here to meet with the Secretary of the Red Ravens as his old friend Lysle was busy elsewhere and hadn't the time just now. Several security guards eyed him cautiously, for good reason. He was a fairly large man, almost viking in looks and body type. This wasn't Nar Shaddaa where most knew who he was. This was uncharted territory, and he carried himself in a way that cast out a radiance of confidence and determination. He wandered through the halls of the Casino, looking for the blue Chiss he was here to meet.

He walked into a larger room that was full of people and droids. Scanning the room he noticed who he presumed to be the Chiss Lysle trusted. Sitting off to the side slightly, a man who looked battle hardened and well traveled ordered a drink from one of the servers walking around the room. Logan breathed in deeply and made his way over to the table. He stopped about 2 feet away from Cryax's seated figure. "Given how you're one of the only, if not the only Chiss here, I presume your Cryax Bane?" he asked the blue man. Logan extended his hand to shake Cryax's before they continued on.

Cryax clinked his glass with Ice's "The game is good, my friend. Business is good. Oh, and I have a new assistant." He grinned widely. Cryax tried not to give his assistant too many menial tasks like fetching cafs for him, but it was nice to have the kid around to help him with all the boring paperwork.

A Togruta called out his name and he started a bit, thinking at first that she was the Black Sun Togruta who had filled his knee with bullets. But as she got closer, he relaxed.

"That's me in the flesh." he said to the woman, "Are you Saki?"

Then the other new Raven arrived, offering him a hand. Cryax shook the man's hand and tried not to let his bones be crushed by the powerful fellow. "Nice to meetcha. You're Logan I presume?"

He gestured to his fellow Raven at the bar. "This here is Ice." The Chiss then clapped his blue-skinned hands together and smiled at the two. "Why don't you tell us a little bit more about what of work you folks are looking for with the Ravens?"

[Ice]

Ice knew Saki the moment she entered. They had worked closely together for a while now. So when she approached, he returned her nod with a warm smile and a nod of his own. This was an official meeting for her though, so he didn't say anything. And likewise, she was right to focus on Cryax. He was the all important man here.

When the next person came up in relatively short order behind Saki, he found his hand instinctively lowering to his heavy blaster which was pretty much always at his side. Even with his corporate habits, some of the old gruff ones just never seemed to go away. His smile had disappeared as he gazed upon the newcomer whom he didn't no with a neutral, but somewhat icy stare.

Cryax seemed to recognize them both quickly and shook each of their hands. When he introduced them to Ice, his expression warmed a bit. "Saki. Good to see you again." He said, letting a small smirk tug at the corner of his mouth. "Logan. Good to meet you." He never understood how Cryax could so easily meet new people face to face. The very thought made him nervous. Ice tended to only meet people over a holo. And only after a few business dealings did he finally meet in person.

Logan nodded at Cryax as the shook hands. He seemed a nice and friendly fellow in his own way. He followed Cryax's gesture and laid his eyes upon the now named figure once again. "A pleasure, I'm sure Ice." Logan looked toe side and signaled for a server to bring him over a drink. He pulled a chair out from the counter and went to rest on it, sighing softly as he did. He fidgetted slightly in his seat before settling down, body turned slightly with one arm resting on the counter.

"Well, I'm not sure if Lysle told you much. We used to run jobs together on Nar Shaddaa and around the Hydian Way. We grew pretty close back then," Logan said, taking the glass that had just been placed down beside him and taking a long sip from it. "We did a little bit of everything back then, but now I stick to smuggling and petty theft as my main muses, working overtime as a mercenary and bounty hunter if needed. I can tell you more if need be, however that is the gist of things."

She smiked AMD sat down"well ive recently been in command of a ship kinda like the big cruisers and corvettes"she said smiling "[member="Ice"] can vouch on that for I've been on his corvette for the longest time now" she said with pride and remembering the few battles she's been in on the corvette, she watched as another man approached that made her hand go to her blaster, but relaxed seeing he was friendly

Cryax smiled at Logan. "Now that you mention it Lysle did mention someone who might be joining. An old friend. I didn't put two-and-two together at first, but you must be him. Welcome aboard our organization. I'm sure we can get you set up with all kinds of new opportunities that utilize your, ah, special talents."

The Chiss turned towards Saki and nodded. "Any friend of Ice's is a friend of mine. I'm sure we can find you some work, too. We have a huge operation brewing on Teth that we could use both of you for." Cryax glanced to Ice. "There's something else going on Enigma Prime too, I believe? Ice can tell you more about that."

Cryax then slapped some credits on the bar and bought everyone a round of shots. He thought back to his first days with the Red Ravens when he pitifully stayed in his office, barely able to speak to anyone unless their Datapad wasn't working. His last few insane months with the criminal syndicate had killed that guy off completely.

The Chiss grinned as he knocked back his shot and slammed the glass down on the bar with a thwack. "We're truly glad to have such talented folks with us. So, do you have any other questions for me?"

Logan grinned at Cryax as he put it all together. "Aye, that'd be me. We go way back. Afraid we lost touch 'til just a while ago." He listened to Cryax address Saki in turn until he brought up the Teth mission. He grinned again as the Chiss slapped credits down onto the bar and they all got a round of shots. He raised his shot glass and tipped it back, the cool liquid running down his throat. It burned slightly but all the best liquor did to some degree. It was all worth it for the warm feeling in the stomach afterwords. "It's my pleasure to be working with all of you now."

"What's happening on Teth and Enigma Prime right now?" He pursed his lips slightly and scratched his chin. "Bet yet, how can I be of use? My guns and Ship are yours to command... within reason of course."

Cryax grinned as the whiskey flooded his system. "What can I say about the operation on Teth? I hope you like getting up close and personal with Hutts. Basically the Ravens are going to claim control of the planet by any means necessary. We could definitely use your help, in space, on the ground. Barbosa the Hutt isn't going to give up his power without a knock-down-drag-out fight. The more you contribute, the more Teth assets can be yours for the taking."

"Ice will have to speak to Enigma Prime. I don't know as much about that operation." He smiled towards Ice and let him take the stage so to speak.

Logan chuckles softly. "Frankly I'd rather not be up close to the Hutts. The damn slugs smell just a bit. However, I will do what I can to assist. What assets on Teth are you talking about? It's a vacation spot for Hutt who are fatter and richer than the rest, no?" He taps the counter and another round of shots is brought for everyone, placing a few credits on the table. "On me this time. Consider it the first investment in the guild." He throws his head back and downs the second shot, shuddering slightly.

"Enigma Prime is a new world my probes picked up. Seems to be fairly rich in resources. We're simply moving to set up mining operations there. There a couple interesting areas though that we want to explore. Some strange anomalies we can't explain currently. So that is why I am setting up a team to go check it out. Besides. You never know what kind of beasts could be lurking around on a strange new world. So thus the need for the guns as well. Can't have my workers being eaten after all." He said with a chuckle. His drink had come, and he was noticeably relaxing a bit more.

"But ya, we're trying to keep it hush hush so no other corporations get there first. So be sure to keep it to yourselves." Taking a long sip of his drink. He let out a satisfied sigh as the liquid traveled down his throat, giving that wonderful burning sensation only alcohol could. "Anyway, if you guys are wanting in, you better pack your things. We'll be leaving in a week or so."

"That's the beauty of the Teth operation, Logan. It's the whole karking planet. Anything you can dream up and build can be yours. And don't worry about the civvies. They can't wait to get out from under the Hutt's big old thumbs. We could open up a franchise of the Dragon Palace, start up a huge black market, you name it. Yes, it's close to Sith space, but they're now our allies so I doubt they'd complain too much."

Cryax knocked back another shot and grinned. "Enigma prime sounds fascinating, too. I'll be partaking in both operations myself."

Logan grinned like a bit of an idiot, ideas rushing to his head. "Where's the damned sign-up sheet? I'd like to get my name down as soon as possible. Get the best spot in the queue for picking land, ya dig?" Logan smiled softly, "Of course I'll help on Enigma Prime, but Teth... seems like that place to be."

She smiled taking a sip again, being able to own something had a good ring to it but, she didn't know what she could possibly build up to own or what to have"teth sounds like a investment paradise "she said rubbing her chin" heh does the place have beach side property?
