Upon Waking, the First Dream. (Ask first, but 90% likely to say yes.)

He'd forgotten to keep track of the days gone by. He'd forgotten not to go back to sleep as he'd grown accustomed. Now when he awoke, he shifted. A body that had long since formed into a piece of the planet groaned angrily at him, and the pain was the echoing chorus as his size diminished. The creaking of his wooden fibers shifting and moving after they'd been still so long, he knew that someone had heard, but he couldn't see anyone. Were those machines people trying to live on this planet, only for the furry bears to attack them? He moved forward.

Over an hour of wandering in a direction yielded him with no sight of people, just woods. He recognized nothing, but he wasn't worried by such small things. He was a tree, and could once more look like one if he felt in danger. What he wanted was to see someone who wasn't a tiny bear people. He could seem them in the trees now, around 14 of them sticking to the far distance, probably panicking that a tree was walking around on its own. The thought struck him out of the blue, that it was exactly how others might act. Was he the only one left? Were they common now? He had to find someone, anyone on this forested world, but all he could see were trees. Trees and leaves and grass and bear people. He knew why the machines shot at the bears. They were not what he needed, but they were always there.

Poro

Poro want a Poro Snack!
Poro the ropo was scuffling through the underbrush and foliage. He was free from the cramped spaces of that last cargo hold! He had been stuck in there for too long and now he would have his freedom! Of course, food was more important right now than freedom. He spotted a nice, juicy fruit high up in a tree. As he approached the tree, he heard a soft rumbling.

Looking confusedly down at his stomach, he saw a root suddenly yank itself out of the ground. With a surprised squeak, Poro jumped up and away from the now moving tree. As the tree walked away, Poro stared at the delicious fruit. He watched it go further and further away. He then listened to his stomach growl. Narrowing his eyes, he chased after it as fast as he could.

This chase, of course, was not all that fast. However, it didn't take long for the little ropo to catch up to the tree. He pounced on one of the limbs and grabbed on tight. The limb kept going, regardless, and Poro found himself on a roller coaster-esque ride. He squeaked loudly in terror and exhilaration until the tree noticed.

Santoo did not attempt to dislodge the creature when he came to notice it was gripping upon him. Well, not at first, but once it began to squeal like it didn't know how to remove itself from the ride, he came to a stop. He looked over the admittedly cute creature clutching to his roots and opened his mouth to try speaking with it, only to remember that his voice was forgotten. It had been so long since he'd spoke, his voice had to stumble on itself. So instead of a clear message, it would first seem that there was something stuck in his throat. Only after coughing and making a hum did his voice manage to recover enough to make sound. Though with the lack of use his voice was akin to speaking while gargling rocks.

"You seem to be a different little fluff. Lost?"

The sound of rocks hitting each other only distracted Poro for a second before he was once again distracted by food. Poro's stomach gurgled as he stared at and pawed at the fruit that was hopelessly high up in the tree tops.

Santoo's right eye-ridge rose in curiosty as the creature attached to him pawed at the air above him, and yet still clung to him. It didn't seem like it was going to leave him be, but it wasn't harming anything. That, and by the grumbling of it's belly, he could only assume it was hungry.

"You don't eat trees I hope, I'd have to fend you off."

He went to pick up the furry creature to lift it level with his face. Assuming he was successful, he would look determinedly at the creature.

"Don't try to eat me. Rawr."

Of course, that was probably one of the least threatening rawrs ever uttered upon Endor, but it was still said.

Meeting the tree face to face and hearing it go "Rawr", Poro giggled uncontrollably. Soon after, though, he hiccuped and his stomach growled again. This time, he pawed up at the air once in the direction of the fruit and then relaxed depressingly in the grasp of the tree, a small squeal of defeat and dismay emitting from the tiny fluffy creature.

[member="Poro"] (OOC: First off. Adorable.)

Santoo's features broke in a smile at the amusement brought about by the creatures reaction. He attempted to pet the creature in a way he'd seen other domestic animals respond positively. In other words, he pet along the back until it pawed at the fruit. Of course he reached up and plucked the fruit, presenting it to the cute creature....he might be getting attached.

(OOC: Thank you. I try my best.)

Poro was in a depressed state until the tree limbs started to pet him. The spindly nature of the tree hands tickled and soothed him at the same time. He quickly was brought out of his mood and, to his wonderful surprise, was face to face with the fruit. The prize within sight, Poro happily opened wide and tried to grab the slightly large fruit with his mouth. Once his lips and mouth were around it and the tree let go, the weight of the fruit made his front side drop down. He tilted forward and slid out of the tree's grasp except for his foot which firmly caught in the tree's branches. He wasn't in pain, but he was dangling upside down, his free limbs flailing, drool was escaping around the edges of the fruit and his mouth, and he kept making repeated muffled squeaks of surprise.

Couldn't help but find amusement in the creature's behavior. It obviously wasn't hostile, and actually seemed rather helpless. This amusement only increased as he had to adjust his grip so that he wasn't trapping it in his grasp, but it had a stable place to stand with his limbs held together. He looked it over curiously, now that it occurred to him it didn't look like a creature you'd find in the forest, too much fur.

He pushed the thought aside as he started to walk again and continue to search for others in the woods. He didn't really have anyway to leave the planet on his own just yet, so he'd either have to find someone, or find a vehicle capable of flight.

(OOC: lol. I can just imagine the only way for Poro to be useful in combat: Stick a contact Thermal Det in his mouth and throw food at the enemy.)

Poro victoriously started feasting upon the delicious, juicy fruit. He nibbled, chomped, and bit into it. Translucent juice was dripping down his furry chin. After a long time of walking, the woods started looking familiar again. It would just so happen that they were nearing the small spaceport landing pad that Poro had come from. Poro squeaked to get attention and then pointed at that landing pad with the cargo ship still docked on it, the cargo bay being quite empty now.

He once more resumed petting the poro. Happily, it seems the creature at least came here from a ship. "Do you belong to them?" He waited for the creatures response, and looked about for anyone gathered there.....

Poro stared dumbly at the tree when it spoke to him, for he could not speak or understand language. He did, however, enjoy the petting.

Over on the ramp was a brown haired young man sitting on the open cargo ramp working on paperwork before he could take off.

[member="Santoo"]It was after the crew of the Ghost Bear had encountered the shadow wolf that they decided to push further into the thick forest that covered the planet like a blanket to discover what other things they could find (despite Duncan's protests that a quote 'spooky space wolf' was enough excitement for one day).

It was an hour later when Duncan noticed the soft shaking coming from the north. Deciding that anything shaking the ground was dangerous and that he didn't feel like being eaten alive, was going to turn around before deciding that convincing his friends to turn around would be a lost cause. Still, he didn't like this.

It was at that moment when his eyes laid upon the visage of the sentient tree who was giving fruit to a creature. He gasped and said, "W-what the hell is that?"

Merely gave a mental shrug of indifference that it seemed the creature didn't comprehend speech. Oh well. At the very least it seemed to know this ship, and approaching it couldn't hurt. He continued to pet it, only to pause when he heard another voice call out. He didn't become defensive, he just looked over in the direction of the voice, but his movements weren't quick. They wouldn't be without straining himself until he got used to moving again. So if Duncan chose, he'd be able to duck out of sight before Santoo looked his way completely.

Though, whether or not he spotted Duncan, he started to approach the ship with the ramp open. Procuring a ride before chatting was the objective here.

And he would of ran too if the tree didn't give off such a beautiful shade of blue. He holstered his pistol (much to his own surprise) and approached both of the strange, friendly creatures. As he got closer, he was filled with a sense of awe, fulfillment, and sense of calm. As he looked up to the talking tree, he said, "And what are you, humble tree?"

Out of the ship walked Reth, standing in his Trandoshan glory. He inched over to Duncan and then followed his gaze. What he saw left an obvious look of surprise.

"What isss that thing?" He spoke as he poked at Duncans arm.

Santoo gave pause as the man full on approached him. Still he didn't give off any motions of being hostile. Instead, a smile breached his features as he gave a slow, eloquent bow at the waist. "Hello traveler. I am Santoo. I don't think you'd know what I am, but I am a Neti. What brings you to the forest?"

His voice was harsh, but spoke in a calm, deliberate manner. It could be assumed he was coming down with laryngitis or something since it sounded like he was losing his voice. When the trandoshan appeared as well, Santoo gave a raspy chuckle, but looked to Duncan. "Friend of yours?"

Poro stared dumbly at the newcomers and then began to excitedly wave its paw in the air at them. He started panting, his large tongue lolling out of his mouth.

Continued to pet Poro in his grip passively. No reason not to, it was energetic, friendly, and was probably the most harmless creature he'd ever seen. In fact, based on it's pelt, bravado, and seeming lack of stamina....he isn't sure how it fended off predators. Was it a species created just for people to keep as pets to amuse small children?

Poro jumped down out of the tree's reach and ran up the cargo ramp. When he reached the top, he turned around, faced [member="Santoo"], and jumped up and down excitedly.
