Update on Roleplay Prefix Definitions

The following changes reflect the updates on the prefix definitions. Changes are in green.

Prefixes are available when you are first creating your threads, and are available just below the topic title.

For any questions regarding Restricted Materials and the appropriate thread prefix for their appropriation, please see our list of banned/ restricted items list.

Please use the appropriate prefix for your role-play threads. Here are the definitions for each:

22ac349bba597cbe035c07940ba2c875.png
: These RP threads can be joined by anyone on the board, and are open to all.

fe093fee7e02d6d9f01889fbede9179e.png
: This prefix means your RP thread can only be joined by people you have invited. You may place the people you've invited into the title of the thread*.

c29bb51c240e9fb240a46f2a26e9ee3c.png
: These role-play threads are reserved for duels between characters, and are invite-only.

c07109e137783a5dd80039fb83ee3060.png
: This prefix is reserved for Faction-Only Member Roleplays*.

d2acf1945fced8440d18251b2b05d9eb.png
: Invasions are battles fought for a planet between two factions. Other factions may request to join, but must have either 1) both involved faction leader's approval, or 2) staff approval. Approval to join a planetary battle should not be given out lightly and must have a story-centric reason. Only a faction leader may initiate an Invasion.

b991f8b38cb6d5f8b173351586d46843.png
: Dominions are threads used to gain new, unoccupied planets by a faction. Only a faction leader may initiate a Dominion.

847e4778fb40b58fb397e489a3ba2fa0.png
: Non-Canon role-play threads do not take place during the timeline here at Star Wars RP: Chaos and do not affect your characters, your promotions, or your factions. The Non-Canon tag should be used only to explore other timelines in the history of the Star Wars universe and to just have fun. You do not need to create new characters to use this tag to role-play them.

- This prefix is used for the development of a Flagship thread and is public and open to any other Major Faction to join.

119fe7a8d446c3b756e9ce4d2ea547ee.png
- This prefix indicates that a faction, company, or individual is attacking another. The attack is not as high-stakes as an invasion in the sense that no real gains are made and no real losses are had. These threads are usually open for everyone.

e503598df4e6a49b42f7d444fc95bc48.png
- A prefix used to indicate the thread is part in a longer chain of threads. A campaign.

a1db57bdd1e1efc78196ea6b1e1db4d2.png
- A prefix used to indicate that a certain hex recently dominion'd by a major faction is being attacked by a minor faction. This can be either to break said hex off, or to claim it for themselves. Please notify an RPJ to have this prefix added once your Rebellion has been authenticated.

*Private and Faction thread prefixes are generally prohibited when the thread involves direct interaction with a Major Faction within their Influence cloud. When in doubt, ask either Major Faction leadership or Site Staff.

List of changes:
  • added "For any questions regarding Restricted Materials and the appropriate thread prefix for their appropriation, please see our list of banned/ restricted items list." at the top.

Hi!

Just wondering if I'm understanding this correctly. According to this, I will have to be the one to initiate dominions, does that mean that I can't simply approve members who are a part of the faction to initiate dominions? My understanding previously is that I could delegate the posting of dominions to members of the faction, as long as it was approved by me, is that the case still?

A faction is responsible for stating who is faction leadership.

It isn't the "Faction Owner."

This includes moderators, admins, or whatever sort of "Leadership" the faction is giving permission to initiate said dominion, as they are "leading" the planning of the dominion.

[member="Cira"] - Perhaps changing the wording to be "Faction Staff" might help ease any confusion, as when I see "Faction Leader" - I consider it a colloquial term for Owner. But that's just me. :)

Thanks for the clarification! I would suggest a word shuffle as well, as "Faction Leader" is somewhat ambiguous but either way, makes sense now! Thanks!

Faction leadership is not simply an owner. As referenced in the Faction Rules Tab:

Faction Administrators, Faction Moderators, Faction Owners, or representatives of Faction Leadership.

It is whomever the Faction has deemed to be a representative of faction leadership.
