  • Modularity: Highly Modular
  • Production: Mass-Produced
  • Material: Duraplast, durasteel, transparisteel, various other materials

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Separates materials into specific elements for easy extraction and sorting.
  • Capable of working in any environment.
  • Particle effect spreads to cover a wide area around the main mining beam.
  • Safe to touch and incapable of igniting flammable or volatile substances for safe usage.
  • Compresses elements through phases for ease of extraction.
  • Intensity adjustment for different uses on various elements.
  • Reverse setting can combine elements into materials.
  • Lethal setting capable of acting as standard particle beam for controlled detonation.

STRENGTHS
  • Versatile: The Universal Mining Laser is capable of breaking down, compressing, or constructing elements with a simple flip of a switch.
  • Safe: Under normal circumstances, the Mining Laser is incapable of igniting substances or causing explosions and is safe to touch, making it a safe machine to use.
  • Modular: The technology can be scaled up or down to create hand-held mining equipment or massive machines meant for capital ships
  • Improvisation: In its most lethal setting, the mining beam acts as a devastating weapon capable of dematerializing substances.

WEAKNESSES
  • Weapon: Under normal circumstances, the mining laser is harmless and incapable of harming living tissue.
  • Lethal: When using full power, the laser can be used as a weapon, though significant recoil and backblast may occur which can be extremely dangerous to the user.
  • Power: The mining laser consumes vast amounts of power in order to operate
  • Expertise: The laser requires knowledgeable users to operate, otherwise individuals run the risk of serious harm to themselves.

DESCRIPTION
As part of an original expansion project under Hex Incorporated, Universal Mining set out to design a versatile piece of equipment for any situation that would allow for easy extraction and mining of materials and elements, no matter the type.

The Universal Mining Laser was the result of this project. Capable of being scaled up or down, the UM-L is able to be used in handheld pieces of machinery, or fitted into freighters for usage in space on astronomical objects.
