  Unitary Defense Laboratories​

  
  In the years following the fall of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the relocation of Confederate Remnants to the Shiraya Expanse, additional sacrifices were made so that others could step forth from the shadows. Trinity Manufacturing, once known for its production of Arms and Armor, and Astraeus Naval Ordnance, master Shipwrights in their own right, were shuttered following the reorganization of Von Sorenn Industries into The Halcyon Corporation. Following the interregnum between Chaos and Order - what assets remained of previous Subsidiaries were consolidated and in that, the Unitary Defense Laboratories were formed.
  
  UDL was established via Government Grant by the de facto Government of Khrea, The Halcyon Corporation - though the Unitary Defense Laboratories are still run and function as a Subsidiary Corporation to the larger Corporation. Their primary purpose, much as their predecessors, is the development, testing, and ultimately manufacturing of Capital Vessels and similar Stellar Craft for the sole purpose of providing The Halcyon Corporation a means to defend the Halcyon System from all manner of threats. In turn, some of the designs also find their way into the hands of the Ascendancy - though larger vessels and their designs are often kept in-house out of claimed security. UDL funding is thus tied to the de facto Government and often increases provided that dividends and profits are up and on the rise. In the event that it appears their funding is threatened, perhaps, for example, by a downturn in the market, UDL sends their own special security forces to secure a new exploitable resource to ensure funding remains steady.
  
  On the surface, Unitary Defense Laboratories appear to be shiny and polished, with all of their t's crossed and their i's dotted - however - beneath the surface is a different story. Behind the stark white labs, and the starched and pressed lab coats, UDL has no issue with utilizing its Security Forces as strongmen, often shaking down those that are perceived as a threat or competition, even going so far as hiring Pirates or Marauders to attack a rival; and then in turn utilizing their Security Forces to remove those Pirates and Marauders to tie up loose ends. Just as its Parent Company endeavors to do, the Unitary Defense Laboratories also endeavor to ensure that their employees are well-off and cared for, even going so far as to offer lucrative retirement options to their employees, provided that they sign a lifelong, legally-binding non-disclosure agreement on the work that they've done, are currently charged with, or will do, for the UDL.

  868 ABY - Von Sorenn Industries has ceased to exist; with the establishment of The Halcyon Corporation on Khrea, and the Astraeus being utilized to provide the material needed to establish the Capital - what remained on VSI and its Subsidiaries was quickly reorganized. While much of the materials and assets were utilized in the founding of The Halcyon Corporation, what remained was enough to establish two additional Corporations. The first of which was Unitary Defense Laboratories.
  
  874 ABY - Seven Years had passed since the Astraeus arrived in orbit above Khrea; Six Years since UDL was established as a Subsidiary under The Halcyon Corporation. Amelia von Sorenn serves as the Chairwoman for The Halcyon Corporation and its subsidiaries - UDL counted among them. In that time, UDL has established itself as the premier Shipwrights of the Halcyon System while also having a minor hand in Vehicle Manufacturing as well as Arms and Armor Manufacturing.
