Slave-Linked System - All Launchers

laHqeuT.gif

Slave-Linked System: These Cruisers include a slave-linked system; in which all of the Launchers can be fired simultaneously with a single command. Doing this rapidly depletes the vessels ordinance, as the launchers will continuously fire until empty. This is often a last resort - or in some cases a terrifying tactical opening to a battle.

Launcher Specialization: The Unilla class Cruiser is a highly specialized vessel that primarily focuses on long range combat through the utilization of missile launchers and torpedo launchers.

Launcher Specialization: Much of these vessel's capabilities rely heavily upon their launchers; meaning that once these weapons are depleted, they have very little capability to fire beyond. Even being armed with a series of Turbolaser Cannons, once they're depleted their ordinance, they're often pulled back to the rear to aid in preventing smaller vessels or enemy formations from out flanking the main fleet.

Slow: Lacking the maneuverability and speed of other vessels, due in part to their heavy ordinance load and design, they can be quickly over come or out flanked by enemy vessels. Thus they're often deployed in the center or at the front of the fleet and pulled back once they're expended their munitions.

The Uniila class Cruiser is a heavy hitter and the Hellknights deploy them in the front of a formation as a tactic of fear. Often these Cruisers are equipped with the equally terrifying and devastating Phelegthon series Thermonuclear Devices. They open the engagement with this first salvo of the Phelegthon devices before unleashing a following salvo of Torpedoes and Concussion Missiles into the enemy fleet. One tactic is to utilize their slave linked capabilities and fire all of their launchers in a single instance to heavily bombard an enemy fleet.

Of course it has its own drawbacks just as any other vessels - predominately in that it is so specialized in the use of launchers that it is otherwise useless once its ordinance has been depleted. They are not as capable as other vessels to stand in a prolonged engagement - as their only back up weapons are a series of Turbolaser and point defense laser cannons. To this end, once their launchers are expended, they're often recalled and redeployed to the rear of the fleet to provide additional security against enemy vessels attempting to attack from behind.
