Ami sat against the tree with her eyes closed, she banged her head back and forth as she listened to the music playing in her ear pods smiling in the process. Compared to the other hellholes that she fought on, Erlinar was a nice change of pace: Great scenery, wonderful waterfalls, and a chill mission for once. Ami and some Mandalorian named Kebii'kara Solus Kebii'kara Solus was tasked of finding a helmet from some dead guy. Why was something Ami wasn't informed but it was important to the Empire for some reason. "Maybe it has the ability to fire laser beams." Ami thought getting up and stretching.

"Hey Chicken Legs!" Ami shouted looking for her partner. "Where you at?! We need to scour this forest in search of that damn helmet!"

"I'm right here." the Lasat spoke dryly, flanked by her droid companions, and with the drakeling coiled on her shoulders. "Shout any louder and you'll be heard from Nal Hutta." Whether it be thanks to the mystical cloak of the Force, the practiced prowling of the arboreal creature accentuated with the training of the Mandalorians, or because listening to tunes in your portable music player isn't exactly conducive to sentry-work, the armored woman had stumbled upon her rather than the target of her choice. She had to admit, though, "chicken-legs" was a new term for her, and she almost looked at her own legs as if to find where the comparison began.

"I am Kebii'kara of House Solus, under contract by the Lilaste Order, at the service of His Majesty of Lianna." the Lasat introduced herself with the slightest of a head-bob, and the drakeling continued to growl in suspicion of their slovenly escort. "You must be Corporal Lutih?"

Sicarius snorted in amusement at Akiya's fear of big fish. "If there are just remember there's always a bigger fish."

Sicarius smirked at her own joke. It was rare for Sicarius to make jokes that weren't snide comments designed to dig at people. Not that she didn't enjoy doing it mind. It was often the easiest and funnest way to throw someone off guard. It was hard to focus on a fight while someone was hate flirting with you. It was a useful distraction.

Sicarius's snort of amusement turned one into disdain when Akiya reiterated just how useless she was in a fight.

"Honestly! What's the point of you being sent on a mission if you can't fight?" Sicarius asked exasperated. Here she was expected to defend a weakling who couldn't even defend herself. If they had been with the Sith or the Nightsisters of her youth she'd have been put out of her misery a long time ago. "Velran refuses to give me access to any useful weapons, and this Force collar severely limits my abilities. I might be able to take someone down in unarmed combat, and utilize their weapons but until that point I'm nearly as useless as our nerdy scientist."

"Your useful enough to my research I will protect you while I can." Sicarius acknowledged grudgingly "I'm better with Sith alchemy then I am with clone biology."

"If you have to or if I tell you to run. Don't hesitate. Get on your commlink and ask for evac."

Sicarius was so focused on the wreck that she almost missed the Mandalorians flying overhead.

"Karabas!" Sicarius cursed with feeling "Whatever tipped off Velran to the Helmet being here must have gotten word to the Mandalorians. If what you say is true and another Mandalorian clan get's their hands on the helmet they could use it to unite a significant number of other tribes to their banner."

Sicarius grimaced as the Mandalorian asked her to protect Akiya.

"I will while I can but if it comes down to it, I'm no Jedi to sacrifice myself uselessly for no purpose."

Sicarius followed the Mandalorian through the wreckage hoping that they could find the mission logs and find the blasted helmet quickly. Before Sicarius found herself defending herself with no weapons and no Force to speak of.

If Sicarius’ mention of the proverbial bigger fish was supposed to comfort Akiya, it had the opposite effect. Akiya knew that making the fact that she was still worried audible was not going to make anything better. When Sicarius continued to state that Akiya shouldn’t be on these sort of missions, Akiya gave a sigh. Not because Sicarius was wrong. ”If you want to complain to the boss, that will not offend me at all. I’m sure I can find other ways to hang out with Hilal in a less dangerous setting.”

The fact that Sicarius did state that Akiya was useful where she belonged in the lab was a proud moment for the young geneticist. She really had no desire to be useful in the missions that her captor/employer put her on so that didn’t hurt her pride at all. ”Glad you’ve got a reason not to feed me to the fishes, or any rival Mandoes we encounter.”

Sicarius’ response that she wouldn’t sacrifice herself to keep Akiya safe, without a benefit for her, was not unexpected. However, as a result of it being openly stated, Akiya moved closer to her would-be protector. Almost pressing up against Sicarius’ back. Hilal was in the lead as they approached the wreck and was going over her plan of attack, so to speak. Akiya had no clue what type of strategy to use, so she merely nodded and stayed attached to Sicarius’ hip. ”Here we go again,” Akiya muttered to herself as they entered the wrecked ship following Hilal’s lead. Though it was not intended to be overheard, the closeness of position between Sicarius and Akiya made it impossible that the Dathomiri didn’t hear the statement.

When Sicarius mentioned that she was no Jedi and she couldn't guarantee Akiya's safety, Hilal clenched her fists and her eyebrows knitted into a frown. "I'm not asking you to be a stinking Jedi," Hilal responding her tone of voice dripping with disdain for the Jedi. "I'm asking you to do what you can to protect Akiya. But since you're the type who looks out for number one, I'll give ya an incentive. If Akiya makes it unharmed throughout this mission, I owe you a favor. Is that a deal Sicarius?"

Sicarius seemed to be the type of person who cared more about herself. Maybe she had a lover, but for the most part Sicarius screams self-centered and even vain based on how she was dressed. The Mandalorian held her blaster pistol close to her face as she traversed through the hallway, the walls were covered with rust and moss, branches sticking through the metal. From Hilal's estimation, this had to be thousands of years old probably dating back to the Mandaorian Wars. Her heart skipped a beat at that possibility, they could be on the verge of uncovering history!

"It's incredible....." Hilal said as they approached the burnt metal of the ship's starboard. "We need to get the bridge," Hilal whispered to the ladies. "From there I can access the ship's navicomputer and the flight logs. Based on this ship though, it dates back to the Mandalorian wars. So I suspect that the language on the system will Mandoa."

The language of her people, Hilal swore an oath not to speak the language in front of outsiders though she did break that oath once when speaking to Hex Hex . "It's how they communicated during the Wars," Hilal continued. "My people don't speak our language in front of outsiders so it was to throw off the Republic so it'll be harder to tap into the Mandalorian's communications."

Sicarius grimaced as Akiya once again confirmed that she was unsuited to combat. "If I complained to Velran that you were a hindrance he would just ensure you get sent on more missions with me. One to annoy me and two because... well he doesn't always have an on track mind does he? I'm sure his mind would find some excuse to send you out here. Something with conviction that would ensure it. Whether it be just because it amuses him or because it somehow relates to what he's having for breakfast. The mans madder than any Sith I've ever encountered. Which is saying something."

"If I thought for a moment feeding you to a fish or to the Mandalorians would yield some sort of desirable result. I would do so in a heart beat."
Sicarius paused as she considered their situation and the Mandalorians offer of a deal. "As it is, the only Mando we have on our side seems fond of you. In the interest of keeping her on my side I'll do my best to ensure you live until we are in a situation that you are of more use."

"You have a deal Mando. If Akiya makes it out you owe me a favor. One day which I will collect." At this particularly juncture Sicarius didn't have a lot of true allies, resources or assets. She was in a effect a prisoner even if she wasn't currently incarcerated in a prison cell. The day would come when Sicarius would break free. At such a time a favor from a Mandalorian could prove fruitful.

"Again?" Sicarius asked Akiya in a tense hushed voice "Do you find yourself in this situation often?"

Sicarius curiosity was piqued when the Mandalorian stated that the ship dated back to the Mandalorian Wars. It was an indication that at the very least they were on the right track. Studying Sith artifacts Sicarius knew a scattered amount of information about the Galaxies history mostly as it pertained to the Sith.

"I wonder if this ship was struck down by Darth Revan?" Sicarius murmured "It was said his mastery of the Force was impressive. He fought the Mandalorians during which time he realised the weakness of the Jedi and became Dark Lord of the Sith."

"Someday I'd like to find his helmet."
Sicarius grunted.

Revans helmet wouldn't be as symbolic to the Sith as the Mandalore the Ultimates helmet was but it would still be quite a coup.

"Speak whatever language you must." Sicarius scolded impatiently. "Before the ship hovering above us sends down a team to check themselves."

Sicarius’ response to Akiya’s suggestion that she lodge a complaint with their employer about having to go into the field with Akiya, was not surprising. It was actually Akiya’s point. Their employer cared nothing for them and even less about putting them in positions to succeed. The addition that Sicarius wasn’t going to stick her neck out for Akiya was also not surprising. It was good to know that she wasn’t even willing to hide it though. ”Good to know where I stand. At least I know the armed member of our party holds me in good regard and will keep me safe.”

It seemed that Hilal had managed to increase the degree of Akiya’s safety with a deal with Sicarius. Akiya felt a little guilty that Hilal would promise a favor just to protect the geneticist. Especially since there was no proof of danger as of yet. That was a mere formality though as far as Akiya was concerned. ”Thanks Hilal. I know it’s difficult to drag me along on these things.”

When Sicarius questioned how often Akiya found trouble in her outings, the young scientist had to giggle. ”If I’m not in the lab something is trying to hurt me…or that seems to be the case to me at least. Probably why Kilran keeps sending me out. He has my research, so if I were not to return it would be one less loose end.”

Akiya gave a shrug. In truth she probably still had value to the Velran, though she honestly had no idea what it was. Sicarius said that Akiya was helpful to her research. Maybe that was it. Not that it really mattered. Despite Akiya’s helpless nature she always seemed to return from these ridiculous missions. As they got closer to the wreck, Sicarius started talking about Darth Revan. Somehow her talk of history didn’t have the same swooning affect on Akiya. That was probably a relief to the Dathomiri.

Hilal was impressed with the ship and stated they should find the bridge. She also said that she might have to speak Mand’oa in order to figure anything out. Sicarius didn’t seem to care about the secrecy of the language. ”If you need to talk to the ship with a bit of privacy, we’ll find something to investigate. Right, Sicarius?”

"You're always a joy to be around Akiya," Hilal said smiling. "Unlike your friend there."

Sicarius was definitely the selfish type, not that Hilal blames the collar she wore but when it came to her friends, Hilal is fiercely protective of them. "Besides Sicarius might have references for me to go to once I do her favor," she said with a shrug.

At least that's what she was telling herself, Sicarius was hardly the worst person that Hilal would work with. "Stay with me," Hilal advised the ladies. "Sicarius is right, the two of you are helpless and Mandalorians are the most powerful warriors in the history of the Galaxy. We don't even know if that Mandalorian tribe is even friendly or not."

The young Mandalorian looked at her Holowatch frowning in the process. "They didn't initiate any scans," Hilal said. "So, it's likely that they're not aware of our presence."

After traversing through the damaged and decaying ship, Hilal approached the bridge. "Chit," Hilal said. "You're right about one thing Sicarius, It was said that Revan could single handedly bring ships down with a wave of his hand."

She went to the ship's navicomputer and wiped dust from the screen. "Okay let's see," Hilal said typing. "Oh good it's still active. So it looks like the ship was heavily damaged when it crashed. According to the log, they've sustained extreme electrical damage."

The young woman frowned. "Could it possibly mean Force Lightning?" Hilal asked Sicarius.

Sicarius shrugged at Akiya's acknowledgement of her circumstances. Regardless of how valuable she may be as a scientist, in the field she was a liability. Sicarius wasn't going to pretend otherwise just to spare her feelings. Not that Sicarius had ever spared any thought to anyone's feelings. Still the Mando's offer of a deal was a good one. Sicarius could think of ay number of ways a favour from a Mando could be useful. If and when Sicarius decided to escape her current predicament for example. Or if she needed assistance to run and hide from the Empire when she did so. Or perhaps just back up that she might call on if she needed it. Previously Sicarius would have scoffed at the idea of needing anyone to back her up, but recent events and their current predicament put that into sharp focus.

Sicarius grunted as Hilal asked if she would give her references.

"If you perform adequately I'll give you a five star rating."
Sicarius promised wryly.

Sicarius frowned as she considered whether or not Velran was trying to tie off a loose endby getting rid of Akiya in a plausible deniability circumstance such as a dangerous mission..

"Velran is too mercurial to not have some reason to keep you around. It may not be a rational reason or one that makes any sense to anybody else, but he'd have one." Sicarius pondered "Although perhaps it might be as simple as you are his and no one else's. People of greed and power tend to hoard the resources that belong to them. Even when there is no apparent use."

When Akiya suggested they give the Mando some privacy Sicarius frowned.

"I suppose I can understand some operational security from the Mandalorian point of view. "
Sicarius acknowledged "Secret languages are only useful so long as they stayed secret after all."

Still Sicarius was reluctant to go far without the Mandalorian's protection and was relieved when the Mandalorian agreed with her.

"I agree it's best we don't go to far out of the Mando's shadow. She's the only one with the ability to defend ourselves effectively given my current situation." Sicarius said the last with a growl and clenching of her teeth.

"Perhaps" Sicarius acknowledged after a moment of consideration "Either that or a very specific type of ion cannon. I can't imagine anything else that could cause an electrical surge intentionally."

Hilal and Sicarius’ discussion of favors and references was not exactly anything that Akiya would have input to. She was glad that Hilal used a bit of influence to add to Akiya’s sense of security in a very insecure mission, but she wished they were someplace that it wasn’t required…Akiya’s mind drifted for just a moment thinking about being someplace peaceful and just enjoying a moment with Hilal and not worrying about Sicarius, or Mandalorian helmets or Sicarius. Those thoughts were short-lived however as Sicarius expressed her opinion that Velran kept Akiya around for a reason. Akiya didn’t have much to say about that. She was sure Sicarius was correct, but merely gave a shrug.

When Sicarius agreed to allow Hilal to keep her language private, the young geneticist smirked. It seemed that some logic ended up pushing through to this mission that was completely illogical that Akiya should have been involved with. ”Thank you,” Akiya responded sincerely with a smile for Sicarius. ”I don’t intend to go far. And certainly have no desire to find any trouble, but as you say. Secrets aren’t useful if everyone knows them.”

Akiya sighed as it was discovered that the ship was able to display the reason for its demise. Hearing Hilal and Sicarius discuss the source of the electrical damage Akiya gave a bit of a shake to her head. ”The ship is ancient right? We don’t figure to find survivors at this point, even if they lived through the crash. Whether the cause was Force Lightning or an ion attack or just an electrical storm, shouldn’t we be more focused on what might be left behind…” she looked at Hilal and frowned. ”You’re not suggesting Force Lightning because you think whatever caused this is still around…right??”

Hilal frowned listening to the ladies' theories on what could've caused the crash. "Historically Ion cannons were never that strong to cause massive damage to a ship's hull," Hilal said. "The strongest recorded Ion blast was from a heavily modified Subjugator-class heavy cruiser: The Malevolence that was deployed by the Separatists during the Clone Wars. Even though the entire ship had some of the largest Ion Cannons in history installed, all it did was knock out power to Republic Fleet, not cause massive damage."

She looked over the ships logs noting that the Mandalorian crew was on the run by a Republic cruiser led by Revan himself. The Captain's last words before the ship log was cut off was that Republic cruiser landed on Erilnar. As soon as it landed, massive hyperspace wormhole destroyed the ship causing it crash. "Oh frack me!" Hilal said. "The ship was destroyed by a hyperspace wormhole!"

Hilal shook her head. "Okay breathe!" She said to herself. "So the Mandalorian ship was on the run being pelted by a Republic cruiser led by Revan damaging the Mandalorian ship's hyperdrive and engines. In a strange turn of events, the Republic cruiser landed on Erilnar and then a hyperspace wormhole destroyed the Mandalorian killing everyone on board."

She planted her hands on her hips, trying to make sense of it. "I'm guessing Revan can summon wormholes," Hilal turning to Sicarius. "Is that even possible?"

Hilal heard the stories and saw frequented conspiracy theory sites about the Sith and what they were truly capable of. With power like that, it was little wonder her people often allied with the Sith in the past. "If Revan was here and he was just playing clean after winning the Mandalorian Wars," Hilal surmised. "I'm guessing the helmet is here somewhere on this planet. Why else would the Republic cruiser land unless Revan wanted to show off his full power."

Sicarius gave an amused smirk and a "Humph" at Akiy'as assurances that she wouldn't go far. Sicarius wasn't sure there was a farther to go to. They were already pretty outthere, physically, operationally and in every other way that mattered. Far was a relative concept when one was searching the wreckage of a ship with a non combatant looking for what might be evidence of what might be a clue to what might be a symbolic artifact.

Sicarius shrugged at Akiya's questions about whether or not the means of the crash was important.

"Determining the means of it's destruction might provide a clue as to where the Mask is. If we can determine a method of attack it might hint towards who took it down and therefore where to look next. Or atleast make a note in a mission report for the next team to go searching for it. Besides the key is an Ancient ship. The Mask might not be the only thing of historical value to find. Ancient Mandalorian armor of any kind could be useful, particularly if it was forged with Beskar."

Scarius frowned as she considered Hilal's counter point of ion cannons not being known or able to cause mass physical damage.

"True" Sicarius acknowledged "An ion cannon wouldn't cause the mass destruction on such a physical scale."

Sicarius raised an eyebrow at her further exclamations of a wormhole. Sicarius gave a startled and confused reaction to being asked if the legendary Darth Revan could produce wormholes.

"It's hard to say. Most of Revans abilities are seen as apocryphal by both Jedi and Sith, both of whom consider him to be a hero of their orders. Personally I have always found each version convenient to both. The way the legends tell it he wielded both light and dark side abilities simultaneously, was the greatest strategist ever known and an expert bladesmen. Some of the more mythical fables would certainly claim to have him having abilities of wormholes but… whose to say? It was thousands of years ago even by the galaxy's standards what he could or couldn't do."

Sicarius considered Hilals deduction.

"Certainly it would suggest the Republic cruiser was searching for something… or someone. I don't suppose the ship gave you exact coordinates to the Helmets location? Or atleast a start to where to look?"
