Under the Mist [Open]

"Oh, come on. Where's the blazin' laboratory?"

John was now in a room full of scientists. Most of them were babbling in fear, backed up into corners and lying on the ground. The head scholar didn't seem to be around anywhere. Well, it was time to begin questioning the locals.

Reaching down with his left arm, Long John grabbed the coat of a scientist and held his blaster to his face. His face was shining with fear, and judging by the smell, the unlucky soul may have soiled himself as well.

"Start talkin', lad, or I'll turn yer head into an experiment."

Stammering with fear, the scientist pointed to a door that John previously didn't realize was there. That must've been the door to the main lab, and with that, the head scientist. Dropping the man on the floor, Long John turned behind him briefly, only to see the pale teenager skulking about.Trenway's eyes narrowed slightly.

"What the devil do ya think yer doin', lad?"

Benji sighed as they entered a room full of unarmed scientists. He was getting restless, anxious to kill. The Rapax watched as [member="John Trenway"] grabbed one of the egghead scientists and threatened the man to give up the location of the leading scientist. If Benji had it his way all the scientists would be dead, but rules were rules. The scientist pointed to a door that the group hadn't noticed. And that's when Trenway finally noticed the young assassin. His hands were still shoved in his pockets and a permanent frown seemed to be drawn over his face. The large pirate asked what Benjamin was doing and Benji peered around the room with his red eyes.

"I suppose the same thing as you..." He simply said as he began to walk to the door. It slid open and blaster fire immediately hit him, a shot in the should caused him to stumble back onto a knee. The teen let out a restrained growl. The attackers were definitely stormtroopers, but they were more elegant...There was a certain feeling the Rapax got when he looked at the armour they were wearing.

There were four guards in the hall leading to the scientist's main lab

Benjamin cracked his neck and the permanent frown broke into a smile. This was what he was waiting for. Sighed and looked back to Trenway and Dan, then to his shoulder. The would was slowly healing itself. He thanked the creators that he was Rapax. Still hurt like hell though.

He suddenly rose up and looked back to the stormtroopers. Tendrils shot out of his back and pointed towards the stormtroopers. He then launched himself towards the four as soon as he was in striking range of the guards the tendrils made short work of them. Tearing into their armour. They let out yells of pain, then silence. The bodies slumped over. The Rapax looked down and there was a few bolts that found their way into his chest.

Benji groaned as he leaned against the wall. Waiting for the pirate.

[member="Miss Blonde"]

The seasoned pirate watched with a cocked eyebrow as the pale teenager made short work of the stormtroopers with those peculiar tendrils sticking out of his back. So that's how he got on this job. Nary a soul would expect anything dangerous from the lad, unless they knew any better.

The lad leaned up against a wall and groaned, revealing multiple wounds to the chest that would've ended Trenway's life but simply momentarily incapacitated him. Still, it hurt Long John to see someone so young in pain, and the big man rushed forward, ready to help if necessary.

"Ya all right, lad? Those are some pretty nasty wounds."

John got out a disinfectant gauze pad from his satchel and pressed it down on Benji's chest, then began to apply medical tape to keep it in place. While it wouldn't do much in terms of healing, it would come in handy for preventing infection. Whether or not he was healing from the wounds was unknown to the pirate. It was better to be safe than sorry, and the lad looked too young to die from an infection that could've easily been prevented.

Finnally he had found it. The kriffin command center where the head of the guard was. Unfortunenlty it was guarded but when had that ever stopped Arctorius. He drew his sword, ignited the blade, and with a animalistic roar he flung himself the stormtroopers guarding the door. He was getting angry and he chaneled the anger into his blade. How dare they presume to stand against him. He swung his hand in an overhead stroke, slicing down to a troopers midsection and flicking the blade so that it would be able to be siced to the side. How dare they think they could fight him. He sliced the sword to the side cuttin another trooper in half. They would fall. He thrust the blade through anothers helmet. They would die. He releasedd his anger, the blade emitted a wave of anger, pain, and hate. It hit the troopers, they fell down dead. He reached down and grabbed the hand of one he looked to be the leader, and jammed it onto the scanpad. And the door began to slide open. More death would come to his enemies that day. Arctorius almost felt happy. Almost.

[member="Miss Blonde"]

They stood there eyeing each other. He knew that his comrades were fallen and likely overrun elsewhere. There was no escape.
The trooper dropped his sword and bow, but it wasn't surrender. He stood there, arms out in a guard as a challenge to an unarmed fight. She too dropped her blade and readied herself, facing her opponent and awaiting the inevitable clash of the two fighters.
Or it would've been had her droid not come around behind her in a series of alarmed bleeps and beeps.

"What? What do you mean the last one's gone?" the droid responded with a descending note as the trooper stared dumbfounded, "No no. You're right. No time for showing off I guess." The droid gave her a self-satisfied beep. Reaching into the droid as she turned back to the trooper only a few meters away from her.
She made a motion to ready herself once more before shooting him in the chest with the blaster she pulled from the droid. Luckily the trooper was so close to her, any further and she would've missed entirely. She gave the trooper, now on the ground a few extra shots before throwing the blaster back into the droid. "I guess I can count myself lucky that I've at least a blaster lying around somewhere. Now where's the last one run off to"

With the droid leading ahead she found herself passing an office. Papers and drawers thrown everywhere. Whoever was in here was clearly was searching for something. Finally, she found herself at the end of the office section and with an open door labeled "Main Laboratory."

As Ghorua blasted yet another simple guard in the courtyard, sending the sorry fool careening into a wall, he looked back in time to see his new partner/toy, [member="The Squid"], utterly destroy a few enemies. He felt a twinge of regret and mild respect seeing the droid tear into the defenses of the place. "Glad to see you're enjoying yourself, Hammer, but stay..." The Herglic grunted, planting his fist into a combatant, sending the guard flying with a caved-in skull. "Stay focused! We got a job to do."

Once the outer defenses were broken, Ghorua looked over his shoulder, his helmet picking up audio from the conversation for him. A few familiar faces, and a few new ones, including the infamous Blondie herself. Then they dashed into the building, and the Shark couldn't help but smile savagely. Even though some may surmise Ghorua was going soft, he couldn't shake his love for battle, as hard as he tried.

There was something about the feeling of bones breaking against his fist that felt... natural.

Despite the thrill of warfare, Ghorua knew there was a better place to put his skills. And his droid.

"Hate to cut your fun short, Hammer, but I'm gonna need someone who can slice into the security system. Which one of you can do that?" Ghorua was already walking toward the open door, realizing he didn't know his new companion nearly as well as he should have. That would come with time.

Once he passed the threshold of the doorway, he pressed his hand against the wall, letting his helmet do more calculations. He ran his hand over the smooth contours, until he reached a space near the door's panel. With a satisfactory grin, the Shark reached back his fist, and punched through the durasteel surface, creating a dent. With a grating sound, he ripped into the wall, clearing out a space filled with wires and power systems. He turned back to the Squid, authority in his tone.

"Get access into the mainframe. I want security cameras, manifests, anything you can scrounge up." Ghorua tilted his head slightly as he heard combat up ahead. Oh, how he wanted to join in the fun.

But he was a professional, and he had a job to do.

Miss Blonde

Trying to be straight in a crooked Galaxy
With the firefight with the stormtroopers in the main corridor seeming to drag on for a bit, it was time for Blonde to step up and show everyone why she was in charge. Reaching down onto her bracelet she touched the charm on it and activated its TK barrier. The silent and invisible shield activated and she was set to head on out to lay waste to those who dared to oppose her.

Stepping out of cover and into the line of fire, the blaster bolts sent her way bounced off her shield or were simply absorbed into it. Her mercs and droids had done a decent job of killing a good ten of the twenty who approached them, but they could of been a bit faster about the whole process.

Raising up her hand the stormtroopers stopped firing and instead began to clutch their throats in a frenzied panic brought on by suffocation.

"Did you know most people are inaccurately using the term force choke?" Blonde said as her grip tightened around their necks.

"You see the word choking by definition implies that the airway is obstructed by an object. I.E the man was choking on his dinner." There was another sound of pressure being placed against skin while the force surged around Blonde and those ten stormtroopers.

"The proper term is force strangulation. Strangle, to squeeze or constrict the neck of a person or animal. The woman strangled the man to death." With one last push there was a cracking noise of bones breaking and soon that was followed by the thumps of armored bodies hitting the ground.

"Class dismissed." Blonde added on and then let out a frustrated sigh.

Straightening her tie once the deed was done, Blonde dusted herself and began to step over the corpses signaling for her droids and employees to follow her. From there it was a quick walk and they had made their way to a large towering door, and on each side of it was of course those biometric locks that needed to be opened via the two men she had requested. Or at least the body parts she required from them.

"Attention all forces, I want those men here right now. I understand conditions are not ideal but you are all professionals and I expect you to deliver. I'll even throw in a cash bonus for everyone if you get them here in the next five minutes." Giving her orders via her comm link she'd then switch over to another channel that was targeted at the ships that brought them here.

"Bring me my toys. Hurry it up." Blonde's orders were given and they would be swiftly followed.

From outside in the cargo compartments of the ships, droids rushed out carrying large black cases that looked like they could hold something in them of a rather devious nature.

"Anyone here experienced with heavy weaponry?"

Hammer let out a sigh that sounded a bit like a metallic clink echoing around a cave. Here he was, watching everyone else run into the facility about to have a grand ol’ time and he was stuck on the outside.

Before he could complain too much, though, the accent lights around his body changed from red to orange as Spark took over primary control. “Sure thing boss," he said following the Shark up to the building’s entrance, all the other interesting looking scoundrels having disappeared into the facility already. Soon, a curious tune, at first quiet but growing gradually louder came from the droid as he began humming… “Dun dun dada.. Dun dun dada.. Dun dun dada.. Dun dun dada.. Dun dun dada.. Dun dun dada…”

By the time he made it to the entrance, the humming had become quite loud. He slammed his back against the exterior wall and shimmied along it on his android impression of tiptoes, belting out “doo de doo doo de…” as he did. Then, his head popped around the entrance, “doo doo de doo doo do!” just in time to see [member="Ghorua the Shark"] punch into the wall and rip through wires.

The Shark gave his orders and the Squid’s accent lights changed again, this time to light blue, “Stop messing around, Spark!” Yelled Core to… himself, but also not himself.

Lights turned purple, “Yeah, you barely understand basic algebra,” Spanner said, again… to himself, but not. The Squid quickly turned the corner and began working on accessing the facilities’ mainframe, “This is obviously a job for someone who appreciates the intellectual pursuits -- me.” Tools sprung from his fingertips as he worked on various wires and power sources, eventually uncovering a digital access point normally used for maintenance. He didn’t know what Hammer was complaining about, this was awesome. Luckily, the small, furry little slicer that had been with the Shark when they first met added a few very useful slicing programs to his existing repertoire. It wasn’t easy, but after a few minutes and with a little luck, Spanner gained access to the mainframe, “Eureka!”

“I’m in, starting to download manifests and I…” he paused for a moment and looked like he was thinking, “now have access to security cameras. Anything specific you looking for?”

"Done. Be ready." Closing the com with the Boss, he smashed the troopers helmet against the wall forcefully, brain matter and such things spilling through the multiple fractures in the helmet. Stepping around the newest of nearly a dozen alike corpses.

Jogging down the hallway, he turned another pristine corner, not noticing the small laser that protruded right above the floor. Immediate after his foot hit the floor mid-stride, an explosion was triggered in the wall right in front of him. The shock wave slamming his charred body against the wall. He could take a lot, but that was an extreme case.

Once he manged to open his eyes, he felt him self getting kicked, pushed around, and finally the barrel of a blaster shoved against his head. Through blurry vision he saw multiple pairs of white boots, then a pair of much nicer shoes behind them. The Captain. Looking down, he saw the burnt and bleeding skin return back to its lighter shade, the pain making something inside of him snap. Fury seeped into every cell in his body, the anger speeding up the process of his healing as he stuffed all those emotions, all the pain and suffering into a small box, curling around it and packing it all together before...

Releasing to let the world feel as he did.

The result was catastrophic as he focused on everything else but the captain. The lights exploded, the white walls shook, the floor cracked, and the entire compound felt it. Frozen in place, the mans eyes moving constantly as he searched for a non existent escape. Tearing the very little burnt fabric that remained on his torso, he ignited his saber, pulling the mans arm out to properly aim his swing. Smiling wickedly he held the purple blade over head, preparing to slash down through his wrist.

"Don't move, would ya?"

Arctorius ran through the hallways calling up the maps in his head, left then two right s then another left. He still would have to take three lefts in a row to get in the room but it was right to his left right now. Only a wall blocked him. So Arctorius drew his sword and jammed it through the wall cutting a good piece of the wall out. It fell forward with a thud. Directly in front of him was his temporary coworker with a lightsaber and the head of security. Though there were various bodies strewn about. It appeared this man waith a saber was a capable combatant. And he would get the glory of the kill. He opened the channel to [member="Miss Blonde"], "Purple saber and me have the guard captain." Then he turned to the man and realized that he was going ti take the hand, "I'll get the eye." Arctorius said and holding the man still, plunged his long blade through the neck cutting off the head. Then he left saber man to his own devices and started making his way back to his employer.

Miss Blonde

Trying to be straight in a crooked Galaxy
Blonde had no more time for waiting around, she had an item to acquire and she wasn't going to wait any longer. So rather than sitting an mulling over her slow ass compatriots to get what she asked for, Blonde decided to take a more proactive approach to things.

Sending out her War Dogs to find the targets the robot soldiers of Syndicate scoured the halls until they came across Nate and the large armored gentleman who seemed to be in possession of Taka's head. Excellent, at least that was wrapping up nicely. A war dog would walk over to the corpse of Taka and slice off a hand. From there the droid would accompany armored giant back to Miss Blonde to unlock the bio scanner.

Now there was just the issue of Koyama. Now Blonde was aware that [member="Jynx"] was in pursuit of the man and that she had cleared the path to get to him, Blonde couldn't afford to be patient anymore. So Blonde would be sure to give her a bonus prize for her hard work towards clearing the way and made sure that after she was done with Koyama he'd be transferred over to her custody as this place was a goldmine for the old tech and information she was looking for.

With her droids pushing through Jynx's path of destruction they eventually found their way into the main laboratory and secured the man with little trouble.

Now that the pieces of the puzzle had been gathered Blonde had her droids force Koyama to activate his side while another droid didn't have to ask Taka too hard to do it. There was a beeping noise that followed and soon after the doors opened to reveal a large room with two light walkers standing in it. This was where Blonde's toys came I to play.

Taking a step aside a droid on a chain gun ripped into the walkers causing them to hit the deck destroyed with minimal damage to the room.

"Amateurs." Blonde said as she stepped inside.

Once she was in the crime lord approached a terminal and logged into it with very little issue. It was time to show everyone why they were here in the first place.

"Long long time ago this place used to be owned by a faction called The Lords of the Fringe, decent enough people. But before that it was owned by the Atrisian Empire, and let me just say they had some good stuff. We're here to take a lot of that good stuff." Blonde said as she worked few a few buttons.

"Aaaand yes please." Pressing one last button, Blonde made her way to the door as a rumbling sound began to shake the base.

Down bellow the mist of the mountains a large and daunting form began to rise upwards dwarfing everything in size. Having set the old presumed lost and destroyed ship known as the Atsushi on remote control with its droid crew manning it, Blonde had the ship and plenty of other barges following it ascend upwards to space and make a jump to hyperspace.

"Awesome possum, if anyone has any questions comments and or concerns let me know." After she had said that the woman pulled out a napalm grenade and tossed it into the computer room where it set the terminal ablaze as to keep others from meddling with her plans.

"Time to go home people." Blonde said with a smile under her mask.

A ship? Well, that was certainly an investment.

Long John strode up to his employer, bowing and tipping his hat, all with a big, goofy smile on his face. To add on to the layers of courtesy, the cyborg threw in a curtsy, complete with the flourish of his cybernetic arm. He was sugaring her up, all right. But, to be fair, Trenway did try to treat ladies with the utmost respect. It was only the gentlemanly thing to do, and while Long John Trenway was many things, a ruffian or a common cutthroat he was not.

"Ah, pardon me, madam. This humble cyborg was just a'wonderin' about the matters of compensation for the meager services I provided. Now, I know you're a very busy businesswoman, and I cans understand that. I can gives it some time, that's for certain. A patient fellow am I! Alas, there was something else I wanted to discuss...in a more private setting."

Trenway awaited the response that the crime lord would come up for the eccentric pirate. He had a proposal, and brokering deals was something that the swashbuckler's charming charisma came in mighty handy for.

[member="Miss Blonde"]

Ghorua logged himself into [member="The Squid"]'s control panel, scanning through various manifests and cameras. The fighting up ahead had stopped, and that was probably pretty bad, either way it ended. Knowing [member="Miss Blonde"], however...

There was probably some slaughter up ahead. Ghorua didn't want to be anywhere near that.

Ghorua saw a moving image pop up in his helmet, and congratulated his droid. "Good work, Spanner. Now, let's see what Blonde's expending all these resources over..."

Audio began to leech into his helm, and as soon as key words were said, his holonet search systems activated, bringing up a diagram of the ship Atsushi. He frowned, analyzing the hull and weapon's systems. He had to grab hold of whatever he could. Fast.

"Alright, Squid. Get into that computer. Salvage what you can." Then, with a bit of urgency. "Quietly."

As the Squid got to work, the Shark felt a shifting under his feet. Presumably the ship itself. Usually, Ghorua didn't go behind his employer's back like this, but he needed a counter-measure, should the crimelord get out of hand.

The Squid who had left for a vacation gone into a silent working mode, gathered up as much diagnostic data before all the data at the source was lost. Ghorua felt a secondary explosion, and surmised Blonde had been the source.

"Sorry, Miss," he said, a hint of regret in his deep voice. "Ship happens."

The pair had made copies of almost the entire system, including Blonde's tampering.

Ghorua stood up straight, practically pulling his droid companion out of the system. He comm'd Blonde, professionalism oozing from his voice. "I'm getting another ride off this rock. No offense, but your starships are a bit tiny for me, eh?" The Shark chuckled, a deep, rumbling sound. "I expect my credits to be wired to my account."

With that, the Shark and the Squid ran out to the courtyard of the compound, and practically vanished amid the chaos.
