Samantha "Sam" Kamura
Character
LOCATION: In route to the Under city of Arcadis on the planet Itera
MISSION: Barter with Bullar the Hutt for recently acquired Jedi artifacts and holocrons.
She was nervous.....or was she anxious? Possibly both. The shuttle shook a little from turbulence, causing her prosthetic hands to grasp hold of her seat a little harder than necessary. Letting out a slow breath, she turned her attention out the shuttle window. Below was a wasteland of abandoned cities, toxic lakes and barren landscapes. Massive salvage yards of derelict vessels being stripped apart by breaker teams was the only signs of life on the planet. Most people would normally be excited or relieved to be returning to their home planets, even if it was a toxic wasteland with one actual city. Under certain circumstances, Sam would have been somewhat excited to return home, even if her life wasn't that great here. Right now that excitement was buried under the nervousness of the upcoming mission. Sam adjusted her breathing mask before closing her eyes and running through the mission again.
A few days prior, word had reached the SJO that a Hutt named Bullra had obtained a large number of Jedi artifacts including holocrons. The exact number and what the contents were exactly was unknown. What was known was Bullra's frustration at being able to access some of the contents knowledge. Sam could only guess that whatever was in those devices had been important to Jedi, or they wouldn't have gone through such trouble to hide it. Even though she was young, Sam had learned that knowledge was a valuable thing. Speaking of knowledge, that's exactly what Sam was here for...in a sense. The under city of Arcadis was a vast place with poorly made maps that could quickly turn it into a maze for newcomers. Hutt cartels controlled most of the under city, while gangs picked up the scraps, forming a thin line between territories. Sam had a pretty good amount of knowledge of where they were going and the Hutt they were dealing with. While she didn't grow up in his territory, she sometimes crossed into it looking for food or scavenge for other items. Bullra was a large by Hutt standards with gray skin and a quick wit. He held a small chunk of turf nestled against the Hub, which suited him just fine since he made his living off smuggling. What better way to make a living than live right next to the biggest export hub on the planet?
A soft chime filled the shuttle, indicating that they were approaching the domed city.
