Private Uncloudy Day

It was probably a good thing Omen had his helmet on. She was unable to see his grin and blush. Since she was not trying to read him with the Force, she couldn't feel his emotional state. Aren was so used to focusing on droids and electronics anyway, it really didn't cross her mind to try and do this to him.

Looking through the images brought back memories of her happy childhood and she just hoped her parents were both safe. Allowing him to put his arm around, she turned to glance at him for a moment.

"I should change this back to the one they had on it and put it away. They like things kept neat."

As much as her room showed a difference...her own personal home was a lot like this one. While she was saying this, she actually did not stand up and remained next to Omen. In a way, she found it a bit odd for her. Almost as if she was seeking the contact and support he offered.

Thinking back on his sleep-hazed comment, she silently wondered if he already loved her. Having grown up with a family, she knew it was real and she had felt it before herself. This had taken her a bit of time to realize though and she assumed it would be the same this time. Suddenly...as if she had been hit by lightning...she considered it a possibility. She most likely could fall in love with Omen. Something held her back from speaking this out loud and she kept silent for another moment.

"I could."

Eyes growing wide, she slapped a hand across her mouth in surprise. Standing up to go put the picture frame away, she blushed the entire time.

Omen nodded as he handed the still back to her. "Makes sense, don't want to have their sense of peace disturbed. I bet they can sense a change to the house as soon as they come in." Being the owner of a single home for 20+ years does that to people.

The Clone enjoyed her company, much more than any other person he had met. He wanted to talk with her every day. Maybe that was what love was. To want to be with someone every single day and they want the same thing. Either way, Omen wouldn't give this up for anything in the world.

The ARC looked at her strangely under his helmet as she said the words "I could" and even stranger when she got up with her cheeks aflame. Wait... Did he go too far? Oh no, he had gone too far and now she was angry at him. That was a red face of anger if he had ever seen one. She probably wanted to say "I could strangle you" but had managed to stop herself. Omen's self-aura had gone from happiness to panic in a couple of seconds. "Did... Did I do something wrong?"

As Aren placed the frame back on the table, she turned to hear him ask his question. Shaking her head in surprise, she walked back over the couch and resumed her seat. Unless he pulled away, she would take the arm he had around and hold his hand for a moment, and looked down at it. Looking back up to him, she gulped a little before breaking her silence.

"No, Omen. I could fall in love."

Wishing he had his helmet off so she could meet his gaze, she just hoped he was actually making eye contact with her. Clearing her throat, she looked down at his hand again.

There it had been said out loud. Things were in his court now and she wondered what was keeping her parents. They should have been home about five minutes ago.

Omen's face went blank inside of his helmet as he processed the words that just came out of the flustered woman's mouth, only letting out an "Oh..." in response. After a few deep breaths, he slowly removed his helmet and met the path of her gaze looking down at their hands and then again looking at her, the gears turning in his head as he figured out what to do.

Did they just stay like this or should he be bold at the risk of upsetting her? In the end, all he did was pull her into a hug and whisper "We will figure it out together." After a minute into this wholesome moment, a loud siren could be heard from outside and as Omen parted the blinds to look at what was going on, he saw a squad of heavily armed police officers advancing on the front door. "Oh nerf..."

He uttered one word in reply to what Aren had said. As if she could sense where his thoughts were going. Suddenly she felt him envelop her in a hug and tell her they would figure things out together.

"That is all I can ask..."

Hearing the sirens, she was hardly two steps behind Omen as he approached the window. Reaching out with the Force, she could feel the electronics the police were using. A half-smile appeared on her face and she lifted a hand for a moment.

What started with one person soon followed to another. All of their coms went silent and the last sound to fade was the siren.

"We need to go."

Unless Omen pulled away, she take his hand and with a firm grip turn around and what looked like a portal would be in front of them. Tears of irritation and frustration were in her eyes as she walked into it and hopefully brought him along...

Omen pulled back for a moment from the hunt, smiling as he thought of a reply on the spot. "And you are all that I could ask for."

The Clone blinked for a moment as he saw the sirens and lights of the police speeders fade out of existence. Her power... was unbelievable but with the smirk on her face, how could he believe what happened outside otherwise. Soon she was saying in a firm tone that they needed to flee and summon a portal for them to walk through. He indeed did take her hand and walk into it with her rather than get into a gunfight with the police officers that were probably now trying to barge the door in.

They reappeared on an empty side street and as the portal winked out of existence, Omen would pull Aren against him as he tried to wipe away her tears. "We will get them back. The first stop is the police station where you can hack into an official computer and know what exactly is going on. For all we know, one of their neighbors might have called the police thinking we were robbers. Either way, we will get to the bottom of this I promise you. We will bring them home."

Once the portal closed behind them, Aren stopped and leaned over to rest her hands on her knees and lower her head for a few moments. Tears freely dripped from her eyes and she did nothing to stop them. Not even bothering to make a wipe at them. Then Omen pulled her to him and wiped them away for her.

Her eyes were totally bloodshot now and very likely a bit swollen, she did listen to him and what he said. It took a few minutes for her to calm entirely and she was finally able to speak calmly even if she still sounded like she might have a nasty head cold.

Leaning her head against his armor, she nodded briefly and looked around to find out where she had teleported them.

"I don't think we should try and hit the station those came from. Maybe the next precinct. All their systems are connected so getting the information will be a snap. We can just hope the second group doesn't know my face or your armor."

Taking a deep breath, she would take his hand, if he let her and move away from his embrace.

"Stick close and don't get lost. Within arm's reach if you can. That way, if we need a quick escape, I can teleport us again."

Still standing very close to Omen, she looked at his exposed face since he had taken his helmet off and moved in close one last time. Delivering another peck to one of his cheeks, she started leading him down the street.

Omen waited patiently as Aren recovered. She didn't need this to be forced on her plate and while he wanted to support her as much as possible, getting her shot wouldn't help anyone. "Just breath for me Aren..."

The Clone petted Aren's head until she finally calmed down and told her his plan. With a nod, Omen wholeheartedly agreed. "Let's hope." As Aren told him to stay close, Omen couldn't help but chuckle." I'm a soldier, not a lone duckling. I think you just want me close so Big clone boy can make you feel safe." He didn't have time for more taunting before she had kissed his cheek and whisked him off on a new adventure, both ready to go into the unknown at each other's side.

Taking what small comfort he was able to offer her on the street, Aren did breathe for him. Wanting nothing more than to cry in frustration, she decided to focus on the task in front of them. More her than Omen but his comment about keeping her safe did have its merits.

Smiling for a moment, she turned to look back at him and nod.

"You might have intended that be a tease but it's true. I'll need you to watch my back while I dig into the database and call off the alert on my parent's house. This way we can return and everything will be fine."

That was the best-case scenario that came into her mind. The way their luck had been going, they would be caught and trundled off for some farce of a trial and put to death. Like what was hinted at in the broadcast she had intercepted.

"I still want you close. To keep both of us safe."

Stopping to make sure there was no oncoming traffic, she took another turn and went into an alley. Watching in front of them for the security she knew about, the cameras were quickly programmed to show a loop of the last hour or so of activity and they would be able to sneak past them easily.

"We can't exactly walk in through the front door, so...can you scout for other entrances and any routines these guys follow?"

"Oh, I'll watch your back alright. And it is such a lovely backside to watch over too." Omen tried to hold in the laughter and smirks before letting out a chuckle. Was it unprofessional yes... But he wasn't going to get a chance to openly flirt with Aren so he might as well get it all out now.

Quickly composing himself again, his smile spread at her asking them to keep them both safe. After a moment's pause, he quickly leaned in and kissed her forehead, stroking her hair with his gloved hands. "Don't worry, no one will touch a hair on your precious little head Aren. You have my promise."

Following where Aren was looking before he had sent her into a tailspin with his affection, he made sure the way was clear before following the raven-haired women's lead. When they finally got into position and Aren asked him to scout out the target, Omen only nodded in reply and set off to scout the path ahead.

Coming up to the side of the police building, Omen quickly sighted the patrols that were surrounding the large warehouse-sized building and memorized their patterns in his mind. It was easy enough to slip by some Ultranauts on watch that were more focused on talking to each other about the latest bolo ball match than guarding the ladder to the roof. Signaling the tech-forward, he would then start to make his way slowly towards the ladder, hoping to get through this silently as possible. Two people in one family were possibly dead. No more families needed to feel what Aren was right now and if he could help it, the Clone wouldn't let anything else bad happen to her either. He was her shield, just like she was his life force. They made an unstoppable pair. Now the pair just needed to make it in and out without any more trouble befalling them.

At least Omen was attempting to lighten the situation and she really appreciated it. Even though Aren wasn't quite able to return the flirting, she did smile when he started laughing a little. They were both able to get back on track quickly...Aren faster at that than Omen but that could have been because it was her parents. He didn't have any family.

In the last few days, they had spent the entirety of them together. A sudden thought crossed her mind as she thought about her own family. He didn't have one anymore. If he ever really did. Before he could leave to scout the station, she would attempt to give him a fast hug and let him. Unless he avoided it.

Watching him as he left her side, she had Red up in the sky patrolling the approaches. Just in case there was going to be a surprise visit from other agents coming in. Placing a finger to her ear, she closed her eyes and tried to mentally connect to Omen.

Let me know when I'm clear to approach, please.

It was just a simple message but hopefully, it went through. If it didn't, then she would have to resort to using a com.

At least Aren was smiling. That was all he cared about. When Aren hugged him, he hug her fully back, embracing her with all his affection in a huggle. The Arc then rushed away, around the patrols dotting around the police station with relative ease and up the ladder to the roof of the building. The Clone would almost fall off the ladder with the arrival of her message before he was able to pull himself onto the roof. He would then smile down as he tried to send his own message back to her, just for fun. You're clear but be fast. We can only wait around for so long before the police figure out where we went and raise the alarm.

The mental messaging system was very clever. Omen had to remember to compliment her for her imagination once she got up here. Well, he would compliment her either way because it kept her smiling but just on something else. Now if she could just dodge the patrols then they could set on the next task of this little break-in, getting in the building itself.
