Surea spent most of her life at the mercy of her owner when she was enslaved, in part due to her owner removing her cybernetics when she wasn't sent out to fight or kill. Her master provided new ones that weren't so easy to take away, but due to the events of Tython her arm was cut off by a lightsaber. Figuring that might happen again she learned how to make her own, going so far as to alter the metal with Sith Alchemy to ensure she'd never loose her limbs again. And added a couple extra features, such as being able to hide a weapon inside her arm, to make her a more efficient killer.
