Their power was immense, but not fully harmonized. They were replacement bodies, not perfected sovereign vessels.
The fall of the Tenth Sith Empire did not end the ambitions of Carnifex and Prazutis. It clarified them. As the Kainate rose from the shadows into one of the most powerful, technologically advanced, and economically fortified Sith states on the galactic stage, the old strand-cast doctrine was declared obsolete. The Dark Lords no longer required merely another vessel to inhabit. They required bodies worthy of empire: bodies capable of sustaining their power, command, sorcery, violence, and longevity across ages of war. Nothing in the Kainate's arsenal was deemed more strategically important than the vessels that would carry its supreme rulers. Fleets could be rebuilt. Armies could be replaced. Worlds could be conquered again. But the bodies of the Dark Lords themselves had to be elevated to the same standard as the Kainate's greatest warships, citadels, and forbidden sciences.
