Ever since the dawn of recorded history, Sentient Life has always strived to find new and innovative ways of slaughtering one another. Their reasons varied, but their desired intent was the same. Little was different when the newly forged Ukukhanya kewlanga was concerned, as it was an evolution of the ancient Thyrsian practice of cursing their prisoners to embrace the unrelenting heat of the desert and their twinned suns. However, this ancient practice required a binary star cluster to work, and the unfortunate issue with the Galaxy was that every system didn’t house such glorious splendour. Therefore, the ingenious Sunborn sought a way to bring the unflinching gaze and judgement of their twinned suns to the unenlightened souls across the stars.
Thus, the Thychani Architects of the Armourer’s Guild took the lessons from their expansive range of starships and applied them to a solitary structure. Through the combined use of Thyrsian mirror plating and the standard solar ionization cannon, they were able to create a machine that effectively roasted a prisoner alive; or tortured them by depriving their very flesh of a majority of its moisture. Either way, these towering structures were the newest and most radical methods in which to execute those that were judged unworthy beneath the gaze of the all-seeing stars.
To ensure that their prisoners remained anchored within the centre of the device, the Thychani Architects saw fit to include several paralysis beam generators that would anchor their victim within the heart of the structure. These generators would allow the prisoner to struggle fruitlessly against their bonds as they were suspended in mid-air by the nigh-invisible strands of fate before the device itself accrued its inevitable lethality. While durasteel shackles would’ve been more thematic, the metal would’ve turned to butter once the towering device had reached maximum power; It would’ve been costly to keep replacing the means of bondage after every execution.
Those that eschewed the Sun’s everlasting gaze would find themselves strapped into the heart of this machine, and forced to endure through the agonizing light of purification for their many sins.
