DESCRIPTION
The UEFC is a mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company based in Nar Shaddaa. It is owned and operated by Hestilic Kajidic. It is one of the largest MMA promotion companies in the galaxy, and aims to become the reigning, defending, undisputed champion of that scene.

The purpose early on was to determine the most effective martial art in a contest with minimal rules and no weight classes between competitors of different fighting disciplines. In subsequent events, more rigorous rules were created and fighters began adopting effective techniques from more than one discipline, which indirectly helped create a separate style of fighting known as present-day mixed martial arts. Several weight classes has since been created.

Popular in the Core and Mid Rim, with a Holonet deal and expansion in the Outer Rim and new markets within the Tingel Arm, the UEFC has achieved greater mainstream media coverage. Additionally, the UEFC produced a reality Holonet series and MMA competition called "Fighter Ultimate". The show features professional fighters living together in Nar Shaddaa, and follows them as they train and compete against each other for a prized contract with the UEFC.

UEFC matches vary in maximum length, depending on whether the match is for a Championship title, or is a fight card's "main event" fight. In all fights, each round can be no longer than five minutes. Championship fights last for a maximum of five rounds. Non-main event bouts last for a maximum of three rounds

The UEFC stage bouts in an eight-sided enclosure officially named "The Octagon". The cage is an octagonal structure with walls of metal chain-link fence coated in black. The cage sits atop a platform, raising it from the ground. It has foam padding around the top of the fence and between each of the eight sections. It also has two entry-exit gates opposite each other. The mat is replaced for each event, and contains sponsorship logos and art.

All competitors fight in approved shorts, without shoes. Tops are only approved for female competitors. Required safety equipment include mouthguard and special shockmitts. These shockmitts differs from the standard ones in that it only discharges electricity upon impact of a certain kinetic energy. This is to prevent electricity during grappling and clinches. If not for this slight tweak, fighters would never take the match to the ground, which would stand contrary to the UEFC's mixed martial arts appeal. Fighters also come equipped with similar shockmitts designed for the feet. To ensure compliance, fighters are checked by an official before being allowed to enter the cage.

The possible match outcomes are submission, knockout (KO), technical knockout (TKO), judges' decision, disqualification or no contest. The ten-point system is in effect for all UEFC fights. Three judges score each round and the winner of each receives ten points while the loser receives nine points or fewer.

RATIONALE
Kossak the Hutt has been a long-time fan of shockboxing. The MMA-scene started small and with a niche appeal, but Kossak saw if marketed right it had great potential. Using funds from the Hestilic Kajidic, he purchased and rebranded the company that would come to be known as the Ultimate Electro-Fighting Championship, combining mixed martial arts with his beloved shockboxing. The company's value and mainstream appeal has since skyrocketed.
