STANDARD FEATURES
The Tyranny-class includes the standard systems expected of a unique star dreadnought of its size and classification. This includes military-grade shielding, long-range communications, command and control systems, hangars, tractor beams, life support, navigation systems, escape systems, docking infrastructure, crew facilities, detention blocks, medical facilities, internal security systems, and all other common and competitive features fit for a vessel of this class.

ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Netheric-gate Drive
    • A specialized version of the Netheric-gate Drive. Several orders larger than the regular Drive, it can create large persistent rifts directly to the Netherworld and maintain them for as long as the Tyranny is in the sector. This allows the Tyranny to do something unique in galactic history: create hyperspace disturbances at will that can draw the Netherworld’s environment through it. This makes hyperspace travel extremely perilous whenever these rifts are active. They can cause crashes, ship failures, or destruction indiscriminately when hyperspace jumps are attempted. A small version of this occurred during the Invasion of Humbarine, where a Hellmouth opened up a rift to the Field of Blades and began to tempt ships to pass on through. Depending on where the rift is linked to, it can invite eldritch monstrosities into real-space or tempt those in proximity into suicide runs to join whatever is on the other side.
  • Advanced Electronic Countermeasures
  • Advanced anti-EW Countermeasures
  • Dedicated Energy Receptor Projector
  • Self-Constructing Armament Factory
  • Molecular Furnace
  • HIMS
  • Molecular Shielding
  • God’s Eye
  • ISI/MCU-01 Vestal-Series Administrative Supercomputer
    • Because of the sheer size of the Tyranny, it requires a dedicated supercomputer to handle the maintenance, infrastructure, and internal coordination of a dreadnought at this scale. The supercomputer is exclusively used for these purposes, however, and is not used for offensive or defensive means, since that does not fit with the doctrine of the Sith Covenant.
  • Cybernetic Qabbrat
    • A specialized meditation chamber allowing Force Users to cybernetically interface with the Tyranny and its systems directly, expanding their technopathic reach over the vessel. This does not enhance the user’s natural ability to multitask or process information; however, requiring them to meld directly with the administrative supercomputer to enhance their awareness and efficacy. Long-term or excessive usage of these features can lead to impaired memory, brain damage, and cybernetic psychosis.
  • Sith Temple
    • At the heart of the Tyranny, surrounding the Netheric-gate drive and cybernetic qabbrat, is a Sith Temple constructed from sarrassian iron-rich black stone. A terrible darkness emanates forth from this center, growing weaker the further one is from the shrine, yet touches the whole of the vessel, potentially empowering the Sith onboard, and inflicting weaker minds with an aura of uneasiness. The temple itself was erected in honor of Vestra Tane, one of the founding Triumvirs of the Sith Covenant and first headmistress of the academy on Coruscant. A collection of minor Sith holocrons and other Dark Side artifacts lines the walls, potentially enhancing the meditative contemplations of its visitors.
  • Sith-alchemized Cupholders
    • Located across the ship’s various centers and substations. For convenience.
STRENGTHS
  • Death Fortress: The Tyranny-class packs the firepower of a fleet and the defensive prowess of a militarized battle station into a single class of ship. If that isn’t enough, the star dreadnought also comes equipped with advanced countermeasures. Its command bridge was integrated into the superstructure of the dreadnought, defended by layers of armor, plating, and recessed shields; the iconic ‘command tower’ was thus reduced to an observation deck for visual aid when sensory equipment was not enough. As the sole star dreadnought of the Covenant, Tyranny was designed to sustain wars by itself. It has all the amenities and material required to prosecute a long-term campaign - from deploying mobile garrisons and sector legions to carrying out mass landing operations that pacify entire systems. The stores on the Tyranny can maintain deployment for up to two years without resupply.

  • Swarm Mother: Seemingly endless squadrons of starfighters and support craft can be deployed from the Tyranny, putting it on par with an entire group of standard carriers in its capacity to litter the battlespace with small craft. The Tyranny was made to operate as much in coordinated offenses as well as in solo operations, and as such, it possesses automated foundries that can replicate and construct squadrons to replace any losses in battle. These foundries can also be repurposed for the creation of armament, vehicles, or other equipment in cases where prolonged sieges cause shortages in the gear that was brought with them.

  • God’s Eye: A vast sensor and comms array allows the Tyranny to monitor starship traffic by the thousands across multiple systems at once, and can even foil most forms of stealth technology.

  • Netheric-gate Drive: The specialized Drive allows the Tyranny to open up large rifts in realspace that give entry to the Netherworld. Unlike its smaller variants, these rifts remain persistent without needing any additional maintenance until the Tyranny leaves the sector behind. These rifts allow for instantaneous travel of fleets and the rearranging of the battlefield in space.
WEAKNESSES
  • Slothful: While most naval commanders would agree that speed and maneuverability are a moot point for star dreadnoughts, it still means that even the slowest capital ships can outrun or outflank the Tyranny’s guns in a fight, should the tactical situation get that severe for the Tyranny.

  • Backup Drive: Designers concluded that a single, substandard backup drive would free up power for other systems, especially since standard hyperspace travel was made redundant by the netheric engine. However, should anything happen to the nether drive, that substandard backup drive is a thin thread between an emergency escape and sitting dead in the water.

  • Massive Target: A ship the size of Tyranny simply has no means to counter enemy firepower other than ECM or flat-out tanking it. Systems, armor, and shields can - eventually - be weathered down.

  • Force Nullification: The Netheric-gate drive will be rendered inoperable should an enemy infiltrate the starship or otherwise reach the drive core with force nullification technology. Nullification may also inhibit the benefits of the cybernetic qabbrat and the Sith Temple, if affected. The cupholders, too, though they still hold beverages.

  • Retooling and Power: While the automated foundries are good for prolonged campaigns, they cannot retool on the fly and require proper calibration and resources to manufacture different designs. They also require a lot of power, so overly sustained usage can drain other systems of the Tyranny with negative effects.

  • Netherworld: While the Tyranny can open rifts into the Netherworld at will, it does not control what comes out of it. Unless a powerful Sith Lord with an affinity for the Netherworld is in play, the effects of the Nether can be just as detrimental for Covenant forces as they are for their enemies. As was seen during the Invasion of Humbarine, where several Covenant ships decided to fly straight into the temporary rift to chase the eternal glory of the Field of Blades rather than maintain formation.

  • Automation: The efficacy of Tyranny’s many advanced systems is dependent on the continued functioning of the starship’s supercomputer.

  • Legions: Even with automated systems, crewing the Tyranny is a monumental task and logistical nightmare. Chaos within the ship and its crew is a more dangerous weapon than any other.
DESCRIPTION
Assembled in secrecy above Had Abbadon is the pinnacle of the Sith Covenant's force projection - a supermassive star destroyer of prodigious scale and ability: Tyranny.

Throughout galactic history, there have been ships that defied imagination; they shattered the illusion of naval supremacy, demanding desperation and ingenuity born of sacrifice to be defeated. And now the Sith Covenant had such a weapon. Where many empires saw these colossal vessels as invincible fortresses and gun platforms, the Sith Covenant envisioned Tyranny as an armed palace. A dreadnought whose mere presence could dominate entire battlespaces, seize control of whole sectors, and even bring the Netherworld itself to bear as a weapon.

Equipped with a vast sensory array, Tyranny had a god’s eye that spanned systems wide, capable of monitoring starship traffic by the thousands, even foiling most forms of stealth technology. Its hangar bays deployed squadrons on a scale that rendered carrier fleets lacking, and the quadanium shell, reinforced superstructure, and advanced shields provided Tyranny adequate means to exhaust entire capital armaments before they could bring the dreadnought to heel.

And at the heart of Tyranny’s power was a Sith Temple built around a monumental Netheric-gate stardrive: a Dark Side device capable of sundering the threads between realspace and the Field of Blades. Throneworld may’ve been Mercy’s seat, but Tyranny was the Core Empress’ netheric blade, and a taste of the afterlife she wholeheartedly believed was hers to rule by right. In the hands of Sith Lords and their Dark Side adepts, such a weapon could have terrible consequences across a siege or engagement, turning the tide of battle in favor of those who revel in darkness.

Wherever this great ship went, the power of the Sith Covenant followed, and if left unchecked… Armadas would burn, sectors would bow, and the Dark Side would continue to spread like an insidious disease, rotting the heart of shackled trillions until from their ilk, future Sith Lords would rise and take their rightful place in a galaxy at war.
