Tyl Ro

Tyl Ro

The Anti(Hipster)-Cynic
Name: Tyl Ro
Faction: Order of Keepers
Rank: Jedi Knight
Species: Kaminoan
Age: 55 (as of 858 ABY)
Sex: Female
Height: 7'3" (2.21 m)
Weight: 240 lbs. (109 kg)
Eyes: Green
Hair: Bald
Skin: Pasty white
Handiness: Right
Force Sensitive: Yes
Text Color: #31C831

Appearance:
Kaminoans, thanks to their genetic purity, are all strikingly similar in their physical features. Tyl Ro aligns with her brethren in all aspects save one: she has green eyes. This is seen as a genetic defect to the greater Kaminoan population, but Tyl survived her inevitable culling with help from her parents in an effort to preserve her Force Sensitivity, another extremely rare trait for her species. Her digitigrade stance, three digit hands, and her extremely tall yet surprisingly slender build set her apart from other species. She would appear to most to be graceful, yet fragile, though she has trained herself physically to combat her species naturally weak constitution.

Though she dons Jedi robes from time to time, Tyl finds their rough texture to be unnecessarily chaffing. She will don them from time to time if she feels the social situation calls for the robes. Most often, Tyl wears the casual outfits common among fellow Kaminoans: form fitting tops and tunics and near-floor length skirts and bottoms.

Personality:
Tyl is often viewed by others to be polite, soft-spoken, yet stoic and reserved. Despite the traditional assumption that Kaminoans are emotionless and cold, Tyl grew up solely around the Jedi Order. While she is certainly practical and analytical, she does not share the detached and often coolly callous nature of her kind. She carefully chooses when to show an emotion based on the situation around her. However, this can still often lead to misunderstandings with those who find her aloof or distant-seeming attitude to be used for deflection or secrecy. In truth, she is gracious and caring (almost motherly). She has an academic curiosity that drives her as well, as she continues to seek understanding in a variety of ways.

As of late, Tyl has been questioning her loyalty to those who seek war. Though loyalty is a value she still holds in high regard, she does not know where her loyalties lie. This has brought some apprehension to the Jedi.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
Fish out of water: Though Kaminoans have evolved to grow accustomed to walking on dry land, they maintain great proficiency in wet or submerged environments. Tyl swims swiftly, is able to change direction with ease, and is generally more physically fit when surrounded by water.

Hokey religions and anicent weapons are no match for a good scalpel at your side: In Tyl's training as a Jedi healer, she also studied and practiced medical procedures used by doctors without the aid of the Force. While she often uses the Force for administering aid, her knowledge of the subject and her ability to treat wounds combine the Force arts and practical medical forms.

Knowing one's strengths and weaknesses: Tyl is well aware of her lack of physical power. She has honed herself into many support role duties and trained her Force abilities accordingly. Her experience in battle has taught her these things and though she will never be a front line warrior, she can still make herself useful in combat situations.

Ever the logical one: Tyl thinks rationally and acts with poise. Over time, she has gained emotional empathy, having come to terms with the understanding that sentients are often passionate creatures, and that logic is not always a factor in the decision making of others. However, some may still find her reasoning to be cold and detached, often as if Tyl is deflecting. Some may also misinterpret her lack of an emotional display as an act of secrecy.

Like a sore thumb: Tyl has learned how to conceal her presence in the Force, however, Kaminoans are not known to go beyond their home system often. Seeing as how she stands well above most crowds and her appearance clearly indicates her heritage, it is rather impossible for her to hide in plain sight. On top of this, her green eyes set her apart from her people, and while an outsider would not notice this, no native Kaminoan would associate with her.

The limits to training: Despite any training she does, Tyl is still Kaminoan. Her body is simply not built for excessive physical exertion. Though she trains herself physically to combat this and has learned Force techniques as a counter, her general strength, constitution, and physical endurance are far below her peers.

Biography:
Unlike most of her species, Tyl was not born on Kamino. The Kaminoans, by the time Tyl came into being (208 ABY), had improved their facilities to the point where they could tell nearly every characteristic of a child prior to birth. As such, the family learned two peculiar things about their soon-to-be daughter. The first was that Tyl would be Force Sensitive. The other was that Tyl would have green eyes. While the former was often considered extraordinary and the latter, as an outsider, might seem quite unspectacular, the Kaminoans, in their pursuit of genetic perfection, saw both traits as anomalous and, in nearly every case, would alter the development of the child prenatally if not aborting the child outright. A child with green eyes was born every other decade. However, there had only been one other Kaminoan Jedi throughout history, and Tyl's Force Sensitivity was, as such, a truly stunning occurrence. Tyl's parents could not allow this amazing feat to be wasted because of a social stigma. Thus, the parents left Kamino and headed for Ossus, where Tyl would be born away from the hands of their species. It would go down in records that Ji and Ure Ro would have a daughter, Uil, that would die shortly after being born, allowing the parents to return to Kamino without repercussion and giving Tyl a chance at life.

With a war being waged at full force, however, survival was not necessarily guaranteed for a Jedi. Tyl was taken to Tython as a youngling, the homeworld of the Jedi Order. The planet, with all hyperspace routes to the world through the treacherous Deep Core having been deleted from the Jedi Archives on Coruscant years earlier, was seen as a safehouse for the Jedi, where most of the younglings learned and trained, free of the cruelties that the war brought the galaxy. It was on Tython that Tyl would spend her first ten years. She was incredibly gifted as a child, and the Masters found that her rapid growth in her Force training paralleled her physical and mental growth into adulthood, which they discovered she would reach as early as eleven. Because of this, the Masters overseeing the Temple frequently wondered if this would adversely affect her perception on the Force as well as that of her peers. Though Tyl often sought solitude from the other students and Masters in order to meditate and learn on her own, she did manage to make a few friends along the way.

The Masters watched Tyl's progress and quickly ascertained that she was far too level-headed to become impatient further down the road. When she was still ten years old, she was over seven feet tall, and towered over many of her classmates. Though Tyl was not affected by her maturity, the other children were. The problem was resolved when Tyl was chosen by Jedi Master Miral Graeme, a rather short and stocky human, to be his Padawan. Tyl left Tython for the outer galaxy, where she found herself to be embroiled in the war effort. Though many considered her too inexperienced to participate in battle, mostly just the other Jedi that actually knew her age, she soon proved her worth while defending the world of Ilum from an onslaught of Sith acolytes and a lone Sith Lord. Later on, she would be complimented by a Lieutenant Colonel Rosham for her bravery, though she didn't know him, she thanked him and remembered him for his eyes. They had seemed... so hopeless and alone at the time. She was not yet old enough to understand why.

Her training continued to press forward quite smoothly while she wasn't fighting, though the exertion of battle was obviously taking a toll on her. While at the Academy, she had learned basic self-healing techniques, but she wasn't being injured through her then-current journeys, only becoming tired. Her species was not meant for such physical exertion, especially above water in extreme conditions such as the cold of Ilum. Master Graeme taught her many techniques that would help her preserve her strength throughout battle and allow it to return even when she was not engaging an enemy. She also started to pick up more and more on the defensive capabilities that the Force had to offer her. Tyl understood quite well that she was not physically strong enough to match every opponent, but her latent Force abilities could be used for other methods, such as Force bubbles, mind melds and alters as well as a few other more offensive techniques like the many variations on the advanced forms of telekinesis.

Aside from those few physical deficiencies, Tyl was perfect to the T, which Master Graeme found extraordinarily perplexing. Tyl seemed to live and breathe the Jedi Code. She was nearly emotionless, yet always very polite. Her knowledge of not only the Force but also of her surroundings, current events and the galaxy itself always seemed to be limitless. She rarely did anything with passion, although she was always very determined, yet calm. She never seemed to miss a beat. It took little time for Graeme to realize this as a problem but almost two years into their training together before he could come up with anything to solve it. He realized that she was either confining everything, or she was simply too comfortable. Figuring it would be easier to test the latter rather than the former, at least for now, Graeme would sign the two of them up for the hardest possible mission available.

The pair was sent to negotiate a cease fire between the Trandoshans and the Wookiees, two species that had notoriously hated each other ever since they discovered one another. The idea of a cease fire came around when an entirely different force came through the Kashyyyk system and targeted warships of either planets. Though the two sides didn't want lasting peace, they both wanted the opportunity to defend themselves and retaliate against the previous assailant, that being a group stationed around Bothawui. For the talks, Graeme allowed himself the luxury of sitting back and allowing the two sides to argue and nudging Tyl to do the talking. If anything, for the first day, she had become more irritated that Graeme did nothing than the fact that they had gotten nowhere with the treaty. As weeks passed, and even less progress was being made, Graeme could see his young Padawan struggling. She dealt in common sense and rationality when neither side was being rational.

Nearly a month went by and both the Trandoshans and the Wookiees ended up initiating conflict once again, giving the Jedi no further purpose in the area. As they left, Master Graeme asked if Tyl had learned anything. When she replied no, Graeme only chuckled and said, "Good." For the next several years, Master Graeme would continue to purposefully put Tyl in awkward situations where she would be required to act. It seemed to Tyl that her role as a Jedi had reversed significantly, seeing as how she came to feel more comfortable in battle than anywhere else. On one occasion, Graeme presented her to a Hutt that was convinced Tyl was being sold to him. Eventually, Tyl could no longer withstand her Master's behavior and told him so to his face. The stocky little human grinned from ear to ear. "The point, my young Padawan, is not so that you'll lose control. It is so that when I am no longer around, you are not fearful of situations presented to you that will make you feel out of place. Instead, you can take them in stride, as you've learned to do with so many of your other more normal tasks." He chuckled again. "And, so that I could see that you actually possessed emotions. Simply because you do well without them does not mean that you shouldn't have them. They are a natural part of many beings, and though I've come to understand that many Kaminoans do not publicly display their feelings, I will never be convinced that they are completely nonexistent. I'm glad to see that you're different."

Master Graeme's words moved Tyl quite a bit. She had never really understood how complacent she had been before. Now that she was able to deal with many of the awkward moments her mentor threw her way, Tyl was able to have an increasing amount of empathy that she did not before possess. Her people skills had gone beyond simply being polite. They were at a point where she began to truly feel the basis of another person's mind, not to mention being able to handle all of the incredibly random tasks that she would at one time have thought demeaning. Eventually they were merely something she accepted. Above all, she realized that closing herself off from her emotions was entirely different from dealing with them. Master Graeme would keep Tyl as his Padawan for only a month more. The two of them bonded even further than they ever had before and it wasn't long before Tyl was elevated to the rank of Jedi Knight.

She continued to serve in the conflicts, having become renowned for her force meld capabilities. And yet, the entire thing seemed to be a futile effort. Realizing that the war was making her just as mentally tired as it was physically demanding, she returned to Tython to take on her own Padawan, though she herself was only twenty-three at the time. She passed over more promising students for Ikio Fen, a female Omwati initiate studying there at the time. To Tyl, the young girl seemed to stand out. Almost a polar opposite to the personality of the Jedi Knight, Ikio was brash, forward and overly-confident. When Tyl picked Ikio as her Padawan, Tyl knew that the two of them would not see eye to eye for some time. And yet, they headed out from Tython to Fondor the next day. They participated in various skirmishes between the Sith for the next few years, Ikio always ready to rush forward into battle.

While fighting, Tyl often had to struggle to keep Ikio patient, and Ikio would frequently send her displeasure back to her Master through the Force. Tyl, not one to be walked on, decided early to put Ikio in her place. It wasn't long before Fondor became overrun by the enemy, though Tyl wasn't sure exactly who the enemy was, only that Sith were fighting along side them. Tyl took a mission in the Dubrillion system, which contained the sister planets of Dubrillion and Destrillion. Ikio, disappointed that they were going to be so far removed from the main conflict, noting that the Sith had no identifiable presence there, vocalized these complaints to her Master. Tyl, knowing exactly why she was heading there, asked where instead they should go. Ikio listed off a number of star systems relevant to the war.

"Do you want to kill, then, my young Padawan?" Tyl queried.

Ikio flinched. Both of them knew that that was not the case, but Ikio had certainly made it sound that way. "Of course not," she responded. "I only desire to do what is good for the Order. And right now, we need to fight to survive."

"Is that so?" Tyl looked away from her Padawan to input the coordinates of the Dubrillion system into the navcomputer. "And here I thought survival depended on living."

Ikio was quite embarrassed, but underneath it all, Tyl could sense a good deal of anger as well. Tyl knew that she would have to push further if her Padawan was going to learn patience and respect. For the moment, however, Tyl remained hopeful that her Padawan would see reason underlying her Master's words. While on the trip, the two of them did not talk for two days, with the system still another three away. Eventually, Ikio apologized, but Tyl took the opportunity to belabor her point. "What is there to apologize for? You were clearly doing what you considered to be the best course of action. How can I possibly fault you for that."

This time, Ikio retaliated. "How can you say that!? Our brothers and sisters of the Order are dying to protect our way of life, and we're going off to some podunk little system with no significance whatsoever. Do their sacrifices mean nothing to you?"

Tyl looked at her Padawan disapprovingly. "The only thing that our Order will gain from your contributions on the battlefield are a few more dead enemies. On the other hand, what it could lose is much more significant. You may be a skilled young Jedi, but your pride is taking you so close to the dark side that I wonder if you'll even make it to Jedi Knight." Tyl removed herself from the meditation chamber of the Jedi-provided starship to return to her own quarters, leaving her shocked Padawan to herself. They didn't talk again until they reached the system and landed on Dubrillion, and Tyl half wondered if Ikio would ever listen to her again. It was only when Ikio realized the situation, that she truly understood. Destrillion was being used by the Sith as a headquarters for their campaign in the Outer Rim and for possible advances into the Unknown Regions, having used Korriban only for the training of their acolytes, a fact discovered earlier in the war. Ikio became even more embarrassed when she realized that her Master in fact was aiding the Jedi. She apologized once again and Tyl accepted.

"You must have faith in me, Padawan, or else I can never begin to have faith in you." Ikio understood quite well, then, but Tyl hoped that the next phase would go just as smoothly. Their mission was not one of attack or even subterfuge. They had landed on Dubrillion in order to keep a lower profile, with Destrillion swarming with Sith. The two of them went as undercover as a Kaminoan and an Omwati could, though they did quite well at that, and surveyed the situation on Dubrillion as best they could. The people of Dubrillion resented the Sith coming into their system and taking over, however they remained idle, as there was little they could do against the legions that occupied the other planet. The Sith sent patrols around from time to time in order to keep the peace, but the presence on Dubrillion was minimal. It was the ore on Destrillion that the Sith desired, as well as the natural training grounds the asteroid belt and abandoned mines provided. As such, it was easy for the pair of Jedi to move freely throughout the various centers, hide themselves in the Force, and go completely undetected. Many people from Destrillion had been dislocated when the Sith arrived, and as such, most of the data that Tyl received for her report was word-of-mouth. When she had everything she needed, it was time to go.

Ikio was content knowing that they had done their part, but Tyl could tell that she itched to come back. Much to Ikio's surprise, they did not. "We have done our part. Now we must trust that the Order will do theirs." Tyl decided that it was time they took a break from the war, and the two returned their ship to another Jedi on Ord Mantell and moved from place to place using public hyperlanes services. At some point in their meanderings, Tyl mentioned, "I know this is difficult for you, Padawan. But you must realize that it may take years for you to truly master your emotions. I am only your guide and mentor while we wait for that day to come." Despite Ikio's discomfort, she was beginning to understand. It took only a few instructive conversations concerning the dark side of the Force before she was more willing to follow her Master's example.

They spent only three months away from the war, but by the time they had gotten back, Ikio no longer yearned to prove her talents on the battlefield. Nearly two years had passed in the young Omwati's training, and she was already well on her way. And yet, the conflict was one that the Jedi could not run away from forever, for the Sith would hunt them if they did not openly defend themselves. So more years were wasted fighting the futile battle between good and evil. Tyl, though keeping her outer confidence of duty, began doubting the necessity of the conflict. She understood quite well that she would always be considered an enemy of the Sith, but while the light and the dark would always clash, she despised the fact that such was the way of the Force. Her morals were unwavering, but her resolve to defend them at the cost of so much life was beginning to break apart. Her Padawan saw this, and they discussed at length one evening as a stalemate had come over the battlefield. The two bonded greatly then, and Tyl marveled at the parallel between her own training with Master Graeme, whom, she had been sad to hear, had been slain. This time, it was her Padawan who would speak up.

"We cannot choose what is given to us, only that we do what we believe in with it." Tyl smiled, and knew that her Padawan was coming close to her Knighting ceremony.

But, then, a more tragic turn occurred. Tyl took a less dangerous mission towards the end of the war during 235 ABY in order to relieve both Ikio and herself from the physical and mental tolls on their being. The two were sent by the Council to represent them in a diplomatic offering from a rather mysterious party of individuals who called themselves the "Disciples of the Force." Tyl found the name to be a bit cult-like but did not jump to conclusions. Of the two representatives that the Disciples sent, neither were Force-Sensitive. As their talks commenced, Tyl realized just how radical and warped the minds of these two followers were. Their views on how the Force worked made little sense, and when Tyl asked them to explain themselves further, they simply made blanket statements that did not purposefully answer any questions that Tyl had proposed. After a short recess, in which Tyl and Ikio really had little to discuss, they returned and the two zealots made the Jedi an ultimatum. Either the Jedi Order would join them, or be they would be destroyed and assimilated. Tyl could hardly believe that this would-be religion thought that they had the right to make such a demand. Instead of arguing the point, Tyl politely declined the offer.

It was then that several armed guards entered the conference room that they had been using on the Wheel. Tyl could not sense them through the Force and her danger sense spiked only when they arrived in her eyesight. As the guards opened fire on the pair of Jedi, they both cut a swath through the guards, who were quite numerable, and attempted to return to their ship. On the way, Ikio was fatally wounded by a blaster burn to her abdomen, which had burned right through. Knowing that there was nothing her Master could do, Ikio urged her Master to leave her. Tyl's emotions started to run wild for the girl whom Tyl had begun to regard as a little sister. But, after Ikio pushed her Master away from her, and started to attack their pursuers, Tyl vowed that she would not let her Padawan's sacrifice be in vain. Tyl returned to her ship, and took the shortest possible route back to Tython.

She was too late. The planet was under attack from not only garrisons of this new religion, but also those of the Sith. She hadn't expected a Sith plot, and was quite surprised by the notion that the Sith would agree to the terms that these zealots had offered. It wasn't long before her ship was detected in the system, but she had managed to pick up a few ejected pilots in her shuttle before Tyl was forced to flee the system. Amongst the pilots, was Kel'Dor Jedi Master Lau Kindo, one of the Council Members. He said that the back-up contingency had been to flee, and contact each other when the time was right, so that anyone captured would not be able to divulge the information of their rendezvous. Unfortunately, from the reports of the other two Jedi, both Knights, a human female named Ena Noire and a Zabrak male named Roa Penk, very few Jedi would probably have survived. Many of the ships that had tried to evacuate with younglings aboard were destroyed, although at least one did make it through. Many of the Masters and Knights had either taken to space to allow those transports to escape or remained on the planet to buy time for those who had yet to leave. The situation was quite dismal for the Jedi Order. The only bright part of the situation seemed to be that they were no longer a part of the war.

For several months, the four Jedi moved from system to system, knowing that splitting up, as had happened in the last two Jedi Purges, reduced the chances they had for surviving the bounty hunters and Sith that would surely be chasing them. They had quickly sold their first ship on the black market and purchased a new one, as well as ridding themselves of their Jedi robes and donning outfits more fitting to common people. Tyl even ordered a wardrobe from Kamino under a false name and using untraceable creds. Eventually, five years after the fall of Tython, having run out of credits and having not been attacked by the Sith in over a year, though encounters with the religion were much easier to get past, the Jedi knew it was time to regroup. The three Knights gathered around Master Kindo and channeled their energy through him, giving him the power to communicate across the galaxy. He reached out and found shockingly few presences, but a few nonetheless. With the added energy, he could even tell who they were; Jedi and even more untrained Force Sensitives. He was surprised to find that he could not detect any Sith presences, or any that he did not find familiar to the Order, though there were a few that he could tell belonged to the zealots, but they were all very untrained and unfocused. The signal had been sent, and the Knights let go, with Master Kindo falling unconscious. With the immense amount of energy that Kindo had used and under the strain of having used it for several hours, the three Knights were unsure whether he would survive.

The Knights knew what to do without him, however, and Tyl quickly plotted the course to Mon Calamari. The Jedi Order, knowing full well that their demise was inevitable over the course of the war, had transferred funds into a private account that would in turn be broken apart into innumerable smaller accounts with the minimum credit balance possible. Then, over the period of one year, those credits would trickle into another main account that would remain entirely anonymous. The Jedi Masters on the council agreed to watch the account, at least those who survived, and the first time a withdrawal would be made, all other withdrawals would be of the same amount in a period of one per month and no other Master would touch the account unless there had been no withdrawals within the last month and two weeks. Less than a month after the Jedi Order had been strewn across the galaxy, Master Kindo had been the first to withdraw from the account. The Council had made no plans what to do with the credits, but Master Kindo, realizing the need for some sort of revival Praxeum at some point, one that would be very difficult to discover, hired the largely broken but still functioning Mon Calamari shipyards to construct a large custom ship that would serve as that base of operations for the Jedi. He would pay off the ship in equal amounts every month, and, at the time that he had contacted the other Jedi, there was only one more payment left to be made, and the ship was waiting at Mon Calamari for its release into the hands of the owner.

Tyl, having been the senior Knight in the group, paid off the last bit to the Mon Calamari when they arrived in the system, and began preparing the ship for departure. Roa, being the most skilled with healing, remained with Tyl aboard the Mon Cal vessel, which the two had begun to affectionately call Haven, with Master Kindo and continued his treatment of the Jedi Master, who was still unconscious but alive. Ena headed to the surface and discreetly sent the Jedi who arrived on the planet to the ship up in orbit, careful that she wouldn't be seen in the same places each time she made contact and that the Jedi who arrived never took exactly the same route up to the capital ship. It wasn't long before the ship was functional, which was sped up significantly by the other Jedi who came and offered their assistance, and nearly every Jedi who had been contacted had arrived. Tyl waited for two weeks, as had been planned, and then made the order to move out. Ena returned from the surface with the last stragglers in hand and the Haven left drydock for open space. When asked for a coordinate, Tyl replied, "Point to a star." Most of the Jedi on deck were perplexed, but a few of the more aloof Knights caught on. "How about that one?" someone shouted out. The science officer determined which one that star was, and as the beautiful vessel reached the edge of the gravity well, the course was plotted, and away they went. Tyl found herself smiling for the first time in years.

For the next ten years, the Jedi Order did what it could to rebuild. The first step was to restore the Council. Not including the incapacitated Kindo, there were but three Masters remaining. There was a Twi'Lek male, Sol'anith, a Mirialan female, Tulin Hydoci and a human male, Run Kolan. Of the three, only Tulin had previously been on the Council. The Council decided within the first week of being in space, that they should start right where they had left off before the Purge at Tython. As such two dedications of the rank of Master were announced that would have otherwise taken place had they not been scattered. Tyl Ro, for having successfully trained a Padawan, despite that Padawan having been killed in action just prior to their Knighting ceremony and Hophram Khi, an Anx male, for long standing service to the Jedi Order. A third Jedi, Gil Barin, a male Arcona, was also elevated to the rank of Master a few months later for having successfully raised a Padawan to the rank of Knight, the ceremony to which the Knighting took place was the first aboard the Haven. Each of these Masters were brought onto the Council. There were several Knightings that took place as well, and it wasn't long before a roster was up of the Jedi aboard the Haven. Their number was thin, with only the six Masters on the Council, fifteen Knights, three Padawans and twenty one younglings. The Council also ended up deciding it best not to try and contact other Jedi who may be abroad in the galaxy, for the very likely possibility that the haven that they had created would be discovered and destroyed.

It was not long before duties were assigned and routine set in, though that routine always had a tendency to vary greatly from route to route. Tyl, having become quite familiar in the processes on the bridge shared the captaining duties when such things were required of her, though those were minimal as hyperspace travel tended to take quite a long time. Many times, it seemed as if the stars that they chose from the scape were purposefully a great distance away from their current location. Tyl didn't mind, as it gave all of them a chance to perform other duties. A common activity that had quickly become communal was the biweekly lecture and discussion on the place they had just been and then the place that they were going. A different youngling or Padawan would prepare a report each session and various presenters from the Knights and Masters also gave reports if they knew something about the world or surrounding area. The Order was progressing smoothly, and although they were no longer accepted in the wider galaxy, they were content to learn amongst each other while the galaxy sorted out its own problems, at least for the time being.

[see "Role-plays" section for her history concerning her time spent on Star Wars: Threads of the Force]

Tyl and Dantarius would part ways soon after their escape from Belsavis. Tyl's path was along a different route than the elder Master, and he let her off at their next stop. She was determined to discover what the Jedi Order had lost in sealing itself away from the rest of the galaxy. With one of the Jedi's secret credit accounts, she would purchase a ship for herself. Despite her strict precautions, she once again found herself tailed by agents of the Church of the One Force. In a harried escape, Tyl was forced to enter hyperspace without having a clear destination plotted into her navi-computer.

Tyl dropped her ship from hyperspace as soon as she was able, however the star map was completely out of sync with what her onboard computer thought it should be. She spent a few days adrift, allowing for the navi-computer to recalculate the positions of the stars in the galaxy and attempting to reconnect with any sort of Holofeed. Eventually, Tyl managed to connect the ship to a feed and download the necessary data to the ship's onboard computer. She was shocked to find herself not only nearly 600 years in the future, but also finding no evidence in any historical journals, shattered as they were, that the "Church of the One Force" had ever existed. On top of that, planets and stars that had definitively been destroyed were miraculously back in place. Wherever she was, it was not the galaxy she knew.
